Quest is making a mint at this facility, by overbooking appointments, and overworking and underpaying phlebotomists, while having the most infuriating appointment and check in process. The posted hours are incorrect. There is no receptionist to assist with the "Welcome terminals" and the numerous UI errors on the terminals. There is no human greeting, instead there is a recording that plays on a loop in the overcrowded waiting room. At least half the customers have trouble logging in to their appointment on arrival, and end up waiting hours to be seen. In the bright side, the nurses are competent and there is ample free parking, and a very good nail salon and tapas bar in the same complex. read more

This is the WORST experience I've had with a lab, and I'm a very patient person. I scheduled an appointment for yesterday at 2:20pm. I showed up on time, with the text message that confirmed the appointment. They could not find me in the system and said they could not take more walk-ins because the truck collecting the samples was about to come, and they closed at 2:30pm. The lady asked me to come the following morning (today). I showed up today and they are short staffed. Still, it's 9am, so I decide to wait as a standby to get it done since I've been trying to get these tests done since yesterday, for my doctor's appointment next week. So I wait, wait and wait. It's now 12:20pm and nothing... almost 3.5 hours. I'm pleading - "I had an appointment yesterday, you guys were the ones who told me to come today". The lady barely speaks English, keeps saying if your appointment was yesterday it is not today, so I finally leave - without getting the lab work done. You get a confirmation email a couple of days before your appointment. When you arrived to the office you can check in with the devices or the medical personal will Assist you. I had to drop off a 24 hour urine test for a type of cancer detection. They were understaffed by 3 people and I understand that/ but they could have easily taken my sample to the fridge as it couldn't be out for over an hour. This facility does not know how to operate a business. Apparently they were having some system issues- both kiosks machines were out of order. No one present upon arrival to explain the technical issues and no sign in sheet available. Someone showed up after 30 minutes and 10 patients already walked in- no order. Several patients left during this time because no one knew what was going on and no one addressed the issues. Signing in online via text or email was not valid. If your facility is down- it doesn't mean quest in general is down. Especially when there is a screen showing everyone's appointment time. The traffic to get here in the morning is horrendous. After sitting in traffic for 30 minutes to get past three blocks, we arrived 10 minutes. If you arrive 10 minutes later than your appointment, you LOSE your appointment. So after driving in traffic, having a caffeine withdrawal headache from fasting, you get told by a kiosk that you've lost your appointment. When you ask for help, an overworked abrupt tech with gloves on comes out and basically tells you, "too bad.. you. can sit and wait the 3 hours for walk in or make a new appointment". I didn't have an appointment so I walked in around 11am on a Monday. There was a few people waiting but it was quick to check-in. I noticed the lady at the counter doing the check-in was the only employee in this place so I knew there will be a wait. She was walking back and forth from the front desk after typing everything in the computer and then go to the back to take your blood. This was highly unusual and a bit confusing for everybody at the waiting room. She was working very fast. They need more staff. Another unusual and frustrating situation is that they don't do billing there so you have no idea on what your insurance will cover... I have been to other quest locations and they immediately let me know the amount or at least the maximum out of pocket. Here she said there have no way of knowing... I think she was just too busy to get that information for me. Anyway, it is very frustrating to not have any idea at all on how much I would have to pay. On top of everything, once I got home after she took my blood my arm started to bruise. I didn't just bruise on the area she put the needle, but I had an entire line of bruises on my upper arm. This location is pretty much the closest location to my home and the only lab company that my health insurance accepts. I really like that I was able to book my appointment online and was able to see the availability of appointments that were convenient to me. This particular day I booked my appointment for 9:30 a.m. I arrived at approximately 9:05 and was called in at approximately 9:20 a.m. Luckily I was able to pre-register my son and I believe that accelerated my appointment a little. When I arrived I entered my cell phone number on the appointment kiosk and waited till they called me. Before arriving I gave my son two bottles of water to drink and I thought it was sufficient, I was wrong, the tech attempted to draw out his blood, and nothing was coming out. I told her if its okay to wait 30 minutes and to have my son drink more water. The tech advised me that it was it alright as long as she was able to draw blood after he drinks sufficient water because it was her and someone else and the other person was leaving at 11:00 a.m. I made my son drink over 12 cups of water during that 30 minute wait and the tech immediately called me in. This time is was a new person that was attempting to pull the blood and she was having an issue because she stated that my son has rolling veins, same issue as me and you technically have to be an expert to find our veins. She managed to find it and my son was fully hydrated and she drew the amount of blood needed for his labs. I almost forgot to mention about the parking situation. Quest Diagnostics is located in a two-story building with several suites inside. The parking lot is not adequate enough to park the amount of clients that come in and out of this building. They offer complimentary valet parking, but I really do not walk around with cash and its not option for me. Luckily, every time I come I manage to find patient parking. My suggestion is to pre-book your appointment online as early as possible, before the lunch hour rush. I really do not have any bad complaints. I feel they are a little understaffed. read more

I have been trying to call Quest for 2 weeks and no one ever answers. Not once. I made an appointment for 8am and after the self check-in, I see I have yet to wait 52 min from 7:50.... No one that works there will talk to me. I got ignored by an older lady with glasses. I have another very important doctor appointment at 9:30 in Mount Sinai and I wanted to make sure I could make it. I am certain I will have to leave before I can get blood drawn to make it to my appointment even though I gave myself enough time. Awful everything, zero professionalism, I would give 0 stars if I could. This place is only operating because of necessity, the multiple 1-star reviews say it all. I'm happy that I am self employed, but I am sure there are people that are taking time off work to get tests done and this is not ok. NOT FOR KIDS - EVER. Seriously, they're clueless when it comes to little ones. I went in prepared for my one-year-old's first blood draw, armed with all the comforts I could think of to make it a bit less traumatic. But man, did they make it worse. Right off the bat, the staff were rude and dismissive. The girl checking for veins had the audacity to tell me to shut off my baby's video and take away his blanket because it wasnt "time for that", when she was being super rude checking on his veins etc. When the technician came in she made snide comments about my baby's movements, like warning her that "he moves a lot" as if it wasnt something natural for a BABY. When they finally got around to the draw, they got the vein on the first one which was great but they couldnt get enough blood and what came next was chaos. They crowded around him, leaving me zero room to comfort him. And instead of trying to calm my hysterical child, they just moved to the other arm without a second thought with the rubber band (which left my childs arms marked RED). She tried and when she couldnt get it on the first one we stopped her. We got out of there halfway through, fed up with their incompetence and lack of compassion. It's a shame our doctor sent us here, as we've heard nothing but horror stories about their treatment of kids, we'll be heading straight to a clinic that actually knows how to handle little ones for the test. read more

I did a blood work on 12/30/21 at 11:00 AM at this location. And the lady messed up the whole process. She put the needle to my left arm and didn't release the band and blood wasn't flowing properly. She had a hard time to collect the blood because of it. I told her to release the band but she refused to do so. Then she proceeded to my left arm and did the same. My arm turned blue. She was moving the needle inside of my vain to get blood because the band was stopping the flow. I am left with bruises in my arm. I am shocked that you have uneducated people to do such a serious job. read more

Do not go to this location they are unprofessional. I signed in at this Quest Diagnostics center this morning at 9:20 AM. They called me at 10:40 AM just to register me. There was only ONE person working there. The same person registering the patient would go back and draw the blood. The other person that was helping felt it was the best time to leave to go buy a pizza at 10 AM with a waiting room packed with people standing up waiting (no seats available). I waited over 1 hour and 15 minutes just to be registered. Then the lady tells me she cannot do an additional test because the doctor added it by hand in the prescription. That's when I got really mad and finally accepted it. imagine waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes to tell you they cannot do the test for you. I was finally called in for blood draw around 11:10 AM. The entire process took almost two hours with one person staff. read more

Besides the fact that you have to wait even with an appointment, be aware of their unethical billing practices. They will ask you for a credit card for an authorization before they are willing to draw your blood. That is with in-network fully valid health insurance. The largest amount they ever authorized was $900. What happens to people who don't have a credit card? I provided my Amex, stating specifically that I did NOT want anything charged to this Amex beyond this temporary authorization, that I would pay any invoices using my FSA debit card. I was told that nothing was going to be actually charged, that I would receive an invoice for any patient responsibility. I could then pay that invoice with a method of my choosing. WRONG. Quest charged my Amex without notice, 5 months after the service.They never bothered to send a bill. What's even more disturbing is that I spent 30 minutes on the phone with a supervisor who felt there was nothing wrong in charging my credit card without prior notice or a written invoice explaining the charge. He finally agreed to refund the $200 unauthorized debit to my Amex. 9 days later, I am still waiting for the refund and the revised electronic invoice I was promised. Quest local staff needs to be educated so they don't give false information. Clients need to be aware that once they provide a credit card, Quest will charge it at will, whenever they please and up to the pre-authorized amount. read more

I hardly ever leave a review for anything, but this company needs to readdress the issue of customer service. I would have given it one star but changed it to two because of a wonderful technician named Rose who went out of her way to help me. She was so pleasant and thorough, I just have to acknowledge her. I hope her manager reads this. HOWEVER, as far as Quest Diagnostics go, their system is geared toward making things as difficult as possible for patients. One example, when you call the number for the location at 109th & Biscayne, the automated message says this person has not set up their mailbox. No human ever answers the phone. Then, I asked my doctor to send the order to their office. My doctor asked for their fax number. It is not listed anywhere. I had to call their main office in New Jersey to get that number. Quest does allow for walk-ins, however, the system is totally frustrating. They have a guard that stops you at the door and takes you to a machine to sign in. There is no indication of how long of a wait there is. There is no one to speak to other than the guard who has no answers and just instructs you to wait in the car (you cannot sit in their waiting room) for a phone call. It could be an hour or 6 hours. You have no idea. They need to have a front desk where you can get some help, some info, someone to speak to since calling gets you nowhere. read more

This place does not follow regulations for OSHA. Employees are eating and drinking in the same stations that they are drawing blood at. Trash on the floors. No one washed their hands the whole time. Patient information was available for anyone to look at on the computer screens. Management needs to step up. Instructions for a clean catch was not given. Easy parking. Close to the freeway. The appointment wasn't the easiest to make but once i finally got through to a human being she was friendly and helpful. The location is small but clean. I have two big complaints: 1) despite the fact that i had an appointment the wait was too long. They were understaffed. The same person that checked people in was the person that dealt with billing, paperwork and insurance. On a Monday there were only two employees for a large volume of people. I had a 10:30am appointment. I arrived at 10:20 and wasn't checked in until 11am. The other guy that worked there was doing all the blood work and sending it off. Not only were they understaffed but they were also really disorganized and not communicating well with one another.
