If I could rate no stars? I would. No associates to help with kiosks out front. Wait time is atrocious even if you have an appointment. Make sure you never get a phlebotomist "Ann". Indifferent, aloof, cold. I asked for butterfly needle because I'm a 'hard stick" (Literally, was labeled this by a RN in an emergency room in 2015). It's a smaller needle and less painful. She gave me some bullshit excuse of they can't replenish their stock and she was saving it for kids. WTF??!!?? So, she used a regular gauge needle and caused me so much pain to make me whimper. Also, she damaged the vein very badly that she had to draw another tube from the other arm. Yeah, NOW she used that butterfly needle. Because ~she~ needed it to finish the job that she half-assed. I want there to have a blood test done today, and I have a very difficult time with needles. There was a rude staff member, Marcus. He invalidated my phobia of needles telling me, "You can't just keep saying that" when I told him I was afraid of needles, and then told me in a stern voice that I couldn't squeeze his hand. I made an appointment for my annual bloodwork. They accept walk ins however be warned they honor appointments before walk in appointments. My appointment was at 10:45. I arrived at 10:40. I would have given 5 stars, however the check in process (scan ID) was a little bit of a process. Other than that, I sat down for maybe 3 to 5 minutes and was called back. The waiting area was clean. There were several patients in the waiting area when I arrived so I figured I would be waiting awhile, but everything was great. I used the restroom before having my blood drawn, again clean. The person that called me back was nice , she engaged in small talk while pulling up the order from my doctor, took my blood, wished me a great weekend and I was on my way. They have a shared free parking lot however it is shared with a grocery store and the lot is not a big lot. I didn't have any issues, someone was backing out as I was coming in however I drive a Range Rover, and the spots are tight. read more

i went in today at 10 am with a walk in and they said at 12:30 pm they can attend which i was fine with but i didn't get attended until 2 pm..... when i got in here some staff lady was on her phone instead of attending the patients.. They don't care. We are a number and our concerns don't count. This has been proven twice by me. Whether I wrote to the NJ headquarters or the director of the lab in Howard Beach (Lindenwood Village Shopping Center 82-29 153rd Ave), it makes no difference. My last experience under new management was a nightmare (May 2, 2019), they used the wrong doctor diagnosis code and my claim was rejected. Because of this, my credit card on file was charged, and no doubt the balance will be billed to me. This caused a great deal of inconvenience. The Doctor had to call their lab, Quest had to re-bill my insurance, and I have to file a refund. I did not appreciate this and my time is extremely valuable. I wrote to the director of this lab in Howard Beach. Guess what? I don't even get a courtesy of a response. I will never return to Quest for labwork ever again, no matter where. They lost a customer of over 20 years. read more

I was at this location 4 weeks ago, and the service and technicians are stellar. Very well organized. Quick, efficient, and call in turn. Last time I got my results the same day. If I could give no stars, or negative stars, I would rate Quest in Howard Beach that way. Service has gotten increasingly bad. On a previous occasion a phlebotomist was uncommunicative and on a personal phone call the whole time she was drawing my blood. I thought that was as rude as a lab tech could get - until this week. I will never return and will discourage anyone who asks my opinion about Quest. This week, what appeared to be a supervisor was training two phlebotomists. When she didn't find a diagnosis code, which is not my responsibility, she ordered me back to the waiting room to call my doctor and she "knew" I wouldn't reach my doctor - but I did, and I refused to leave the room. She already had another patient waiting at the door, like we were cattle. I informed the trainees that it's difficult to draw blood from me, but she insisted that she could. She stuck me and dug the needle around until she produced a black and blue mark the size of a half dollar that is still there five days later. I HAVE PHOTOS. She stuck me again with a finer needle. They were all having fun at my expense. When I tried to post a complaint, Quest's page didn't work and the bot was totally unresponsive. I'd be happy to show Quest my photos if they even bother to read this review. read more

I just left a walk-in appointment (today is Tuesday). I waited approximately 25 minutes before I was seen and the blood draw took less than 10 minutes. Check-in was easy, as it required entering my name, date of birth and phone number on a Quest Diagnostics tablet in the waiting area. The phlebotomist (I think her name was Melissa) was very friendly and organized. I really liked her! She waited for me to review/confirm the blood tests. I've visited this Quest location before and have generally had a decent experience (the wait time before has been longer) but can't say I've waited for hours and I haven't experienced issues regarding bloodwork results. I am not sure if staff rotates and I assume that weekends are busier; however I would recommend this Quest branch! read more

The cons, the phlebotomist did not change gloves between me and another patient. Like another reviewer said make an appointment to come here! I came in as a walk in and left after 20 minutes because I could just tell it was a slow pace environment that gets very busy. I made an appointment before 8 am and after 8 there was about 5 patients who walked in right after me. The Pros is that there is a parking lot, unlike their Austin street location who has meter parking however they seem to work a lot fast over at the Austin street location. Consider yourself lucky if Angela is your phlebotomist. She is thorough, caring, and incredibly gentle. The facility was bright, clean, and efficient. I was seen at 7:30 after a short wait and felt happy that I didn't have to ask off work. It's so convenient to be able to visit a lab before work hours and I appreciate this option. 6 months pregnant and went for my Glucose Test. Got the earliest appointment and was a great experience! Since it's in a strip mall with a lot, parking was easy and there is a bagel store right there for breakfast after. My phlebotomist was Angela and she was fantastic! Friendly and professional even at 7 AM! The facility is clean and well lit. They allowed me to wait out my hour in between the drink and the blood drawing in a back room with a recliner instead of the waiting room which made the time go way faster. I was a walk in patient from out of town.. although the wait time was not long 10 mins or so , the doctor was RUDE and NOT HELPFUL. Every question I asked, her answer was I don't know. Then she couldn't find the information my doctor sent over. She then informs me ALL quest locations don't take my insurance. I was willing to pay out of pocket , I asked how much she again says I don't know then I asked her for suggestions on where I could go get my lab test done she ignores me and continues to be on her phone. I walked out googled another quest location where I walked right in, that doctor found my information immediately and took my insurance! HORRIBLE SERVICE ! I waited an hour and a half just to drop off a urine sample for my mother, who, incidentally, had to be straight cath'd to get the urine. I finally get in there and the rude woman, told me to write mom's name on the container, which I did, and then printed out the labels. I should have known when she sucked her teeth that she did something wrong, and when I asked about it, she said nothing going was wrong and she took care of it. Now 3 days later to find out from our Dr's office that she labeled it wrong, and no results! All that for NOTHING! read more

Avoid this location if possible, otherwise be prepared to wait for hours to be seen. I had an appointment for 1:30 and got their 10 minutes early, and there were only 2 people ahead of me. It took the workers forever to do everything, and I wasn't even see until 2:40. I ended up missing a dental appointment because of that. You can tell the workers are lazy, the lady that took my blood was texting on her phone in the middle of everything, and one person was literally just standing around the whole time. Went to this place today as a walk in to draw some blood. it was extremely over crowded for such a small place. My estimated wait time to be called was 24 minutes which i didn't have a problem with that. 1 hour goes by and I'm still sitting in the waiting area. This is a " white" neighborhood / upper class if you must say. The old white people look at you with such disgust when you walk in if you ain't white. Seen it with everyone who walked in who was Hispanic or African American. The doctor who drawed my blood was a young African American she greeted me with such frustration as if she hated her job. She then proceeded to attempt to draw blood from my left arm and it didn't seem to catch it so she continued to stick the needle inside my arm pushing it further instead of noticed this and continuing on to the next arm. After she tried she then went to the next arm. Now i have a bruise on my left arm where she stuck me trying to get blood but couldn't succeed. Terrible laboratory, will never come here again. Just cause it's local don't mean it's the best!!! Completely disappointed. read more
