Today, Saturday December 2nd ,I went for scheduled blood work early in the morning at the Commack location. The check in process was quick and easy, no wait at all. The tech/phlebotomist Keara was excellent. Very professional, polite, easy to talk with and extrememly gentle. Thankfully I have really good veins for drawing blood, but even so, she was so careful and gentle. Highly recommend this location. read more

I came a few minutes earlier than my appointment while nobody else was in the back and I can hear these young girls just laughing, cursing, and gossiping while we are all waiting in the waiting room. Waiting room tiny and overcrowded complete with people given us unsolicited advise about how we should be patient. Wasted 2 hours. Got smart and made an appointment with Syosset. Quest Diagnostics in Commack is the worst establishment to go to. My appointment was at 8:30 am. I scheduled the appointment way in advanced because I am 8 weeks pregnant and did not want to wait because I'm at a delicate stage. I arrived at 8:10 to be early for my appointment. People were barely getting called as time was running. Another patient started to complain because he hadn't been called. They explained to him that he hadn't been called because he didn't have an appointment but he complained enough so they took him in right away. They let him in at 9:30! Again, my appointment was at 8:30. So I finally got up and said something because I'm 8 weeks pregnant and after fasting all morning and being up since 6 am, I started shaking and feeling dizzy. It's absolutely ridiculous that someone without an appointment was able to go before me. I had to get up and say something. I basically had to lose my temper to get assisted by these people. Who does that to a pregnant woman? Not only did they aggravate me, but they made me wait over and hour as I am 8 weeks pregnant, they take people without appointments before me, they are seeing that I'm shaking, and still giving me excuses as to why they took the man without the appointment first?! It's absurd. I tried being patient because I understand back ups can happen but to call someone that doesn't have an appointment before calling me, the pregnant woman who is already shaking after waiting pretty much over an hour to get called! It's truly disgusting. And being 8 weeks, I'm not here for simple blood work. I'm getting 12 tubes of blood taken out, and on top of that, after getting blood taken out, I had to take a liquid and wait another hour to get more blood taken out! Disgusting and atrocious is the only way to explain the treatment of this place. The negligence and their poor care for pregnant women is unprofessional! If I could give 0 stars I would. Everyone working there should be fired. Absolutely rude. My husband had official paperwork from my Insurnace company that even after checking in as a walk in which we knew we would have to wait a while ( no problem) they ended up turning him away saying it's not in their system so their is nothing they can do. In order to get a discount on our Insurnace this is part of our requirement and even with official paperwork that apparently means nothing. You guys need to figure out how to run this place bc it's not working and the lack of communication on these new protocols is ridiculous. My HR was not even aware of this why is that? There is no signs posted, nothing that explains this to employees from their company that are apparently supposed to be calling quest first and getting put into the system that way. read more

I was at Quest Labs this afternoon with my husband for several test to be done for several doctors. A lady named Christina helped us today... it was her second day on this job and she was trying to master the computers... of course our request was a bit difficult being it was from several doctors but she fought her way through the computer ( with a little help from her friends) Christina was very friendly yet professional! An extremely likable person and a Whiz when it came to drawing blood! My husband is quite difficult to draw blood from and after several tries from several different Vampires ( that's what I call anyone who draws blood) Christina was one of the best I've ever seen.. Did a walk in due to another lab was locked when it should have been open. Signing in was easy and not a long wait at all to be called. The tech, Selena was excellent, I usually have to get stuck twice since my veins are bad. She got it first try and hardly felt the pinch. Definitely will recommend the Commack office read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Everything went ok up until I saw the blood all over the arm of the chair I was sitting in. Clearly another patients blood that wasn't cleaned before I came in. I pointed It out and the girls response was, "oh. I thought I cleaned that." Being a new mom, It is of the utmost importance to me that I do my absolute best to keep COVID and other easily transmissible viruses out of my home for the sake of my son, myself and my husband. I felt very unsafe here knowing all precautions were clearly not being taken when It came to cleanliness and sterilization. I will never, ever use Quest labs again for bloodwork. read more

This review is about MELISSA. She is the rudest lab technician I have ever encountered. She had an attitude from the start. I had a question regarding my sons account and she was useless in helping me rectify the error that someone in their office did. Someone wrote the wrong insurance information down now I have to correct it. She gave me lip and attitude answered back and under her breath made snide comments. Worst experience ever in a stand-alone lab for routine blood work. Walked into empty waiting room on time for my appt., signed in and sat. Heard staff loudly arguing with one another then after 15 minutes passed my appt.time a voice shouting my mis-pronounced name?!! Walked into lab I repeated my name to staff who rolled her eyes said "whatever" to me pointed to a room. I felt obligated to write a review since most of these reviews are not recent. I just went this morning when it opened up around 6a. Signed in on the tablet (was confusing for the elders) and my waiting time was 11 minutes which ended up being a little over 20 minutes (better than an hour). Staff was wonderful, I don't know her name but she answered all my questions which I appreciated and she was extremely nice :) We are still in a pandemic so I might believe this may have affected how smoothly things went well. read more

The one really good thing about this place is that it's located right behind IHOP so when you're fasting for blood work and are on the brink of passing out, their's a IHOP within walking distance (run on sentence lawlz). This place gets packed real fast all with people without appointments, my advise? Go to Quest Diagnostic's main site, make an appointment and you won't have to wait more than 5 mins once you get there. This specific location has a lot of old people that come. Their's two main phlebotomists, one old, loud woman, and a younger/nicer women. Years ago they had this one dude who effed up all the time, one time he somehow put my sister's name on the my test and they would only release it to her when it was me who gave them my insurance card, id, credit card, and MY SIGNATURE. I will not be returning to this location ever! I didn't get the tech's name (glasses and long black hair) who we got stuck with but her attitude is horrible, I had to bring my kids here twice in one week and both times she was angry and irritated. She is definitely not good with children and even made a comment after her coworker finished up with my daughter because she couldn't find a good vein, that she wasn't going to take any more kids today and she didn't want to deal with them, the whole time she was complaining about the office saying they were over booked and had so much work to do and even a personal comment about her coworker having to leave in the morning because her daughter got hurt. Upon arriving, you sign in on a clipboard and sit in the waiting room and wait for your name to get called. I counted about 5 people who signed in AFTER me and got to go in AHEAD of me. I have no idea what was up with that but I was in the waiting room for at least 30-40 minutes. Once I finally got called, I'll have to give credit to the staff for being efficient. So much so that I kind of felt like I was on an assembly line: 1. Get on the scale, take my weight 2. Measure my height 3. Get the tape measure out and measure my waist circumference 4. Sit in chair and take blood pressure readings 5. Put rubber tourniquet on arm and take blood And off I go. The whole thing probably took 5-10 minutes. No real pleasantries or anything so Donna's description of them being "kind and caring" is not accurate of my experience there. Horrible- two staff sat behind the desk chatting about their lives while my child and I waited in the waiting room. After 15 minutes, they decided to call us up to the window to process the script. My son went in and the woman used quite a large straight needle instead of the more appropriate butterfly needle. No bedside manner and a messy bloody arm when we left. Never go - try the far superior new sunrise lab on Commack road, it's clean, friendly, and they don't mind the added expense of butterfly needles. read more

You try to get through to ask what a good time to come would be and you can't get through to speak with anyone. Than when you get here they pUll people in front who had an appointment when you were told you did not need one. The staff is rude and unorganized. When I arrived I was confused. There is no check in window. You check in on a small tablet like device. There are no signs. The one good thing is the television in the corner shows you the estimated waiting time. The facility is very clean. Employees are very friendly and professional. I went here for a blood test and they have no one there when you walk in. I made sure my insurance fully covered the test and was assured that it did. Got a huge bill in the mail saying my insurance didn't cover any of it. There mailbox is full and no one answers. I absolutely hate having my blood taken but I must say that this place helped to ease my nerves. It takes me a long time to get the nerve to actually go to the lab so after a month I decided to say "you can do it." It was Dec. the 31st and I figured I would be a big girl the last day of the year. I go to a dentist in the same building and since i carried the prescription with me I thought I would give them a try. The phlebotomists were amazing!!! I was delighted with their personalities and their skill level was excellent. I highly recommend this place for all of your lab needs. The technicians reviewed my prescription and contacted their main office regarding a question with one of the tests. I was thrilled with their expertise and kindness. Thank you for a job well done.
