We decided to meet some friends here, in the pub downstairs.
Apparently they bill themselves as a "Steakhouse" but it's not like those of us in the US would consider one. Their menu was diverse, but there were 4 steaks listed. There were several Indian inspired options, Scampi (which in this case was fried shrimp - not the garlic butter shirmp as we know it) and other fish dishes. And the like.
I opted for the 12 oz ribeye, I ordered it Medium Rare. When it arrived, there were peas, carrots, 2 onion rings and a baked potato on the plate as well as the steak, which was a weird amalgam of Med rare and well done. I'm told that folks in the town of Annan tend to eat their steaks hockey puck style. Ah well. Otherwise it tasted Ok. read more
