I went in 2 different times: saturday at 3pm and wednesday at 10am. Two completely different vibes. I tried the famous sandwich from the black pig, viral chocolate covered strawberries and bread ahead. Black pig - the best one sandwich: it was AMAZING!!! I was a bit scared to get this since i was by myself but let me tell you, it was not heavy as i expected it to be. Just delicious overall and would totally recommend. Chocolate strawberries: I love strawberries and chocolate but definitely think you can find cheaper alternatives anywhere in london. Bread Ahead: my new favorite pastry place. I pretty much got a donut from this place (not this location) everyday because the black currant cheesecake donut was that good. I got the tiramisu and crème brûlée donut which my brother liked and i wish i could've tasted them before they went bad but anyways, I would totally recommend the donuts from here! Their chocolate chips cookies are HUGE and delicious as well. This was probably one of my favorite markets!

As one might expect from a market that takes place in a school playground it is pretty small affair. It is exclusively a food market. There are around 12 stalls selling meat, cheese, fish, vegetables and juices. In contrast to other markets there is little food to eat as you walk (pies etc.) so best to visit for staples if you live in the area. There are a good selection of quality items; the juices are particularly good. This farmer's market isn't spectacular but nonetheless sells good stuff and worth visiting if you're a local.

This is my Sunday ritual. Unfortnately I hail from San Francisco so I am a farmers market snob,…read morebut I actually appreciate the small quaintness of this market. I recommend the tomato guy, the goat cheese, the fresh eggs, the sausages and of course the Flour Power brownie. It can get a bit crowded, especially in the summer, but it is manageable. And hit the cash machine before you go--I can easily spend 40£ here (I am a sucker for the buy 2 discount!) I wish someone would put up a good coffee/latte stand at the market! I love strolling with my morning latte and there is no good place around there for coffee. Plus every farmers market should have a good coffee stand. I wish I could get Blue Bottle over on this side of the pond....

This is a lovely market on Thursdays (if you can get there before all the students descend!)…read more They sell veggies, meat pies, bread, home made quiches and tarts, ...and as well as the fresh food to take home, there are also loads of street stalls for lunch. A while ago I tried some looovely paella. Today I had a gooorgeous sandwich that was basically a mountain of beautifully cooked lamb with sweet chillie sauce, balanced on salad and ciabatta. It was sooo goood!! Next time I really want to try the hog roast with apple sauce. The only bad thing about this market is it is located between SOAS, Birkbeck and ULU...and is around the corner for UCL. So once the University year has started, you have to wait in line for quite a long time for the yummy food! Doh!!

There is only one stall for fresh produce, so this is mainly a market just for a quick meal rather than stocking up on fruits and veggies. I've tried the mediterranean dish right by the entrance, which has a great combination of flavors and seems pretty healthy. I also got the curry from one of the Indian vendors, which was full of flavor and the perfect portion size. The desserts are also great, but unfortunately the baked goods get pretty cold in the winter. My only real complaint would be that so many students come here during their lunch break that some of the lines get pretty long and there isn't much seating. Ultimately, incredible food and a great opportunity to support restaurants in London.
