Walk down Roman Road after 2pm and there is little of interest or merit and, well certainly nothing of note.But Monday to Saturday there is a morning market of the old school East End variety. 'New York - Paris - Globe Town' written on the side of the stalls. Fruit and veg, fresh, abundant and affordable. It ain't organic but it tastes a darn sight better than so much of the supermarket grot. And then there is the fish stall which today had copious amount of fish roe perfect for making that home made taramasalata or for the less able like myself, undyed smoked haddock for a soothing chowder.
