My wife and I visited Salford quays outlet shopping centre yesterday 1st December 2023. We haven't been there since last year and we were shocked to find how poor the outlet has become Nearly all of the upstairs shops had gone! It was like a ghost town. It was also very cold (no heating) probably couldn't afford to put any on ! We won't be visiting again as they are still charging for parking which seems stupid when it's in such a decline. Something needs to be done quickley or I can see it closing down. read more

The Lowry Outlet is just ok its nothing that special apart from a couple of decent stores like the GAP outlet and a few others, but it's only really kept open by the Vue Cinemas and the very busy Costa Coffee, There is also a couple of chain restaurants which include Harvester, Pizza Express, Cafe Rouge, Lime Bar and the recently opened Nandos. It does have a lot of potential if it had the right stores in there. Its ok for a browse through if youre around the area or in Media City UK though. Its also very easy to get to from the City Centre with a direct tram heading straight towards to Media City UK. read more

It's pretty limited here to be honest, and I also think they're having an identity crisis. The term 'Outlet' normally insinuate's a place to grab a bargain, or basically get last season's stock at a lower price, although they're not really outlet stores at all.. There is of course the cinemas, and the Virgin Active gym there which make it a good place to visit in general, however to actual stores in the Shopping Centre are below par, and I probably would put it fairly low on my favourite shopping spots. Outside of the actual Shopping Centre there're some fantastic little cafes/bars though. That said, 4 hours free parking if you spend over £5 in any shop is a good drawing point, and should they be able to lure in a few more attractive names to host an outlet store there, this review could well jump up a few stars. The main shining light is the Cadbury's factory store - you can get all the rejected chocolate (shape-wise not quality-wise) at good prices, because let's face it, chocolate is chocolate. read more

Ah, the Quays. The place where the characters in Coronation Street who have wealthy aspirations dream of living. I've reviewed so many little spots in Salford Quays and said so many different things about them, I thought it'd be challenging for me to review the Quays as a whole. A place to visit. A day out with a friend, loved one or the family. How does it hold up? Well, as ex colleagues of mine have affirmed, it's not somewhere to go for a night out. The bars are few and far between, and with the dreaded Lime as one of the only options, well, we all know how I feel about the central Manchester option. I can't see the Salford Quays version of the very same bar being any different. And for a day of shopping, I've never been blown away by the Lowry Outlet Mall. But for families and culturites it's a lot better. The Lowry Theatre and Imperial War Museum mean there's plenty for the kids to learn and lots of art and history to entertain oneself with. And while Frankie and Benny's, Chiquito and Pizza Express may not be the gourmet's choice, children love that sort of thing. Also it's a great place to find a job. There's lots of industry in Salford Quays, from GMG Radio to an entire estate of computers and businesses and all sorts of important-sounding things. And I'd say it's a very pretty place too. There's stuff for the sporty types from a very posh gym to a watersports school, which resides on the quay edge where people canoe and dive and do all sorts of aqua-based activities. You're likely to run into a gargantuan swan or goose walking around... just be careful, those things can be nasty. All in all, the Quays is worth a visit. It's quite 50/50 in terms of its content, but the stuff I like there is particularly good stuff, thus I'd recommend it. And for a picturesque afternoon in the sun it can't be beaten. read more

I expected more from an outlet type shopping centre but came out feeling rather underwhelmed by the whole experience. It lacked any atmosphere. We wondered into a couple of shops expecting to find some bargains but none found! You might be more inclined to visit the Costa or Bella Italia for something to eat and drink rather than to shop here. read more

Let's start with the negative points: - No atmosphere, especially on a wintery weekday - Rubbish shops in outlet mall, which is always dead - Lack of good bars and restaurants - Very windy Now the positive ones: - Imperial War Museum - Lowry Museum and Theatre - Lowry Bridge - Free parking (for 4 hours if you make a purchase at the mall) - The arrival of the BBC's Media City (more jobs, more life?) - Watersports events, such as the annual university dragonboat race - Wildlife - when I worked here I saw herons, ducks and a stoat - Accessible by public transport (and more accessible when the Metrolink extends to Media City) OK, so there are more positives than negatives, but unlike the wealthy Corrie characters, I would never dream of living here. It makes a decent day out, but the lack of character and any useful facilities make this a strange choice for somewhere to live. read more

I went to the Lowry Food Festival on the 25th of June 2016, the weather really let us down as it was raining throughout the day and that's never a good thing when there's an outdoor event on! Needless to say this affected numbers, it was pretty quiet compared to previous years but the usual mix of hot and cold food stalls were present and Gingers ice cream truck was sitting pretty in pink, as always. The entertainment was a little thin on the ground this year, they had a few singing acts on stage towards the end but people were seeking shelter from the rain by this point so there wasn't really a festival 'vibe'. I particularly enjoyed the vege spaghetti/courgetti maker demo. I plan on buying one very soon, pretty miffed I didn't pick one up on the day actually. I went for a grilled chicken wrap from Mezani Grill, I've not had Kenyan food before but as one would expect it was spicy, and I loved it! I did think it was pretty dear at £6.50 but a girl's got to eat. Overall an OK experience but not as good as previous years. read more

I've previously been to the Cheshire Oaks outlet, which as an extensive range of shops, and ranging for different price brackets. However, The Lowry Outlet is somewhat limited both in terms of quantity of shops and price range. For designers stores they have Flanners and Tessuti both of which are quite small with limited sizing and although classed as the top end, there are many brands which are unheard of. The only positives for this outlet is the Vue cinema as it's never too busy and also the free parking available (if you spend more than £5). I think the centre needs to look at extending the shops on offer, as the ones in there are very empty. Such a shame as it's in a great location, it just fails to being the crowds in. read more

Outlet - discount. Two words you would put together! In many places in here you can find it, BUT, sometimes I can't help but think maybe these "sale" prices are the prices they would charge anyway in many of the shops here. Needless to say I was excited to visit the Cadbury store! It was before Easter and I still had those last couple of eggs to buy for the family. £2.99 for an egg - with no box. Outlet - discount??? Nike shop - now this was a discount store! I'm going back when I get paid for sure! With this kind of a brand it definitely met the outlet - discount! So as you can see, it has good discount shops and discount shops that don't seem to have much discount.... I think it appeals a great more to the older generation. Perfect for a cup of tea/coffee and a wander round bathroom/interior shops. It definitely needs some "younger" shops to appeal to a wider crowd or even a few more brands. Narrow choices... read more

I usually make a couple of visits here a year. There isn't a huge range of shops, but the offerings are mainly homeware stores so I can usually pick up at least a couple of stocking-fillers for Christmas at a wonderfully low price. Unfortunately, due to the nature of a lot of the smaller shops and the economic climate I should imagine, you will undoubtedly find that each time you visit at least one shop has closed down or re-opened as something else, so don't bank on being guaranteed to find what you're looking for. It is good for a browse, though. My favourite shop is definitely the Sweet Emporium, featuring wall-to-wall stacked tubs of old-fashioned sweets like pear drops and rainbow kayli, and a floor-full of more modern treats like those weird Wonka creations of popping chocolate, runts, nerds and gobstoppers. Remember to get your parking ticket validated in one of the shops for free parking too, little bonus! read more

The Lowry Outlet gave us a great Saturday out. Despite the fact that it proclaims itself as a mall - silly Americanism - The Lowry Outlet gave us a nice break from the city centre and, surprisingly, we weren't the only ones there. The car park was fit to burst (we got the metro but, as it usually is, nipping in through the car park was the easiest way to walk in) and there were shoppers aplenty. After our visit to Lime bar we headed back inside for a walk around. Although many of the brands remain out of my price range - Flannels, Molton Brown etc - AX Paris and Pussycat London were nice suprises, offering many of their high street dresses and shirts for around the £10 mark. As most of these clothes looks the same nowadays, there's no worry about being 'off trend'! I got a lovely studded floral shirt for £5 and, although I'm sure it'll disintergrate somewhat after a few washes, it'll do me for now, and that's what I look for in my fashion. Sorry but I am of that generation and spending limit. The atmosphere was much more alive than our last visit and the lighting seems to have had a boost. There was even a little craft/artisan fair on. The discounts were good and, despite the various empty shops, I didn't leave feeling too depressed about the state of the retail economy. read more

The Lowry shopping outlet mall. Haven't been here for a long while but had to go to the Molton Brown shop. First off you get one hours free parking but if you purchase an item from any shop within the outlet for over £5 you get four hours free parking. There is now a lot of shops in there with M&S home outlet, cadburys shop, Black & Decker and a Molton Brown outlet shop and lots more. Also if you get all your shopping done and have some free time you can go to the food court or some of the restaurants that are in there such as harvesters or cafe rouge. On a nice day you could go for a walk outside which is five minutes and you will be in Media City UK, worth a walk around. Also located next door is the Lowry Theatre, again worth popping in to see what shows are coming. Also all around are many more restaurants and bars in the whole area. read more

For such a modern and clean place this mall has potential however the choice of current shops is disappointing. Unless you want home appliances, candles or over priced cheap looking clothing there's no point in going. On the other hand however the only 2 shops worth going to are Dickies and the Nike outlet. Dickies is fantastic with workmen gear for really cheap, I got a pair of steel toe caps for £20 that were reduced from £60. There is a cinema here to but I have never been. I may give the restaurant a visit in the near future also when I graduate. Parking is free for all visitor for upto 4 hours read more

Not that great to be honest, the shops are a pretty poor selection, looks a lot more impressive from the outside, but it is only a couple of minutes from media city and the excellent dockyard bar, the cue cinema is worth checking out as it's usually reasonably quiet read more

Hmmmm. I remember the opening of this place, it was billed as "an outlet mall", a shopping centre with slashed prices, similar to Cheshire Oaks. What a let down. Now I will admit that The Lowry did have some good shops at first but most of them have fled the scene now as they realised that for some reason, this place does not work. I go to the cinema here quite often because it's very quiet and it's free parking, you walk through the shopping centre to get to the cinema and it's so quiet! It's a ghost town! Maybe when MediaCity opens it will bring with it a load of new business which is really what the Lowry needs, I can't see it surviving much longer the way it is. read more

This is a fantastic alternative to the shopping centres in town if you're looking for a bargain from a familiar brand. It's relatively easy to get to too from the town centre - I take the Eccles Line train and get off at Harbour City but you can also take the number 69 bus. I've come here for birthday presents before - I've picked up some great cut price bargains: a bath set at Molten Brown (a store that usually doesn't discount their items), a beautiful silver bracelet from Chapelle's for under £20 and a wonderful 70% discount jacket at Whistles. There's quite often a lot of things that are there for a reason, i.e. aren't worth buying, but if you give yourself the time to have a proper hunt around you can come away with some great bargains. At the end of the day, you can also stop off at the Vue cinema for a movie, a perfect ending! read more

The Lowry Mall is a bit weird in that it's basically in the middle of nowhere. I've only ever been there because I wanted to go to the Lowry proper, to see either art or the theatre there. When I think of shopping I do not think here. Having said that it seems perfectly pleasant. read more

The access is bit difficult to reach. I do not go unless I really want to do something there. I like the Lowry gallary and the museum shops! I went to Cadbury outlet and got 5 mini green and black chocolates for 2 pounds or so, which I am happy about. M&S outlet was very small and I could not find anything big bargain. I love the fact that have Whistles outlet. All items are so pretty and just enjoy browsing the shops. I do not think they have good places to eat, so please make your stomach full before you go! read more

As others have said, the range of shops in the Lowry Outlet Mall is not as good as you might be expecting. It seems like a mixed bag of small retailers, many of whom are halfway between the main high street stores and pound shops. The main thing you'll see on sale here is last season's leftover clothing, in the sizes that didn't sell out. End-of-line books might interest you. The eating area is dull and clinical-feeling, with no interesting food on offer. Despite being pitched as an 'outlet mall' a lot of the pricing is not super-cheap. There are only a handful of bargain shops, and some stores, such as the Cadbury's shop, have a nice range of stuff but at more or less the same price you'd expect to pay anywhere else. However if you're willing to hunt around, there are bargains to be found, things that you may well actually want. I found a couple of little items I'm pretty happy with, which is what I've given it 3 stars for. Another thing on the plus side is that parking is free if you buy something, and it tends to be less busy than the fairly nearby Trafford Centre. read more

So much money and effort has gone in to making it look great but the shops arent up to much inside. its easy route of trams and across from the lowry teatre, but theres nothing really going for it. The Lowry Outlet Mall is a small center of shops offering up to 50% off high street prices. There is also a multiplex cinema showing the latest blockbusters. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed when I went here as there wasn't as many shops as I anticipated. Although, there were 2 silver linings for me - 2 fantastic craft shops. One is paper mill, where you can fill up an A4 box with as much card and paper as you can fit in it for £5, or an A5 box for £3.99. The other shop was crammed full of all types of papercraft and cardmaking stuff, with Anita's xmas peel-offs for 99p buy one get one free (so I stocked up for my xmas cards!). There were bargains galore all over both shops, so I would visit again just for them! The dining area wasn't brilliant, most of it was closed and the selection was naff - Burger King or chips. Great. The cinema is pretty impressive. Last time I went The Simpsons Movie was showing and they had a full size replica of the Simpsons living room in the foyer!! It was a bit expensive at around £6 per ticket though. You also get free parking if you make a purchase in any of the shops, you just have to get your car park ticket stamped. read more

The choice at the Lowry Outlet Mall can seem quite limited to some, but if you're lucky you might find yourself a bargain. There isn't a huge range of 'real' high street shops here, but there is a Marks and Spencer's, a Nike shop and a Cadbury store (where you're likely to pick up something tasty!) There's a decent selection of food stalls in the food court, from fast food to healthy snacks to Indian! At the back entrance of the Lowry (opposite the Lowry Art Gallery) there the odd restaurant and bar. A definite bonus to this place is four hours free parking with any purchase. With parking prices on the up and up, this is a huge attraction in my opinion. For entertainment at the Lowry, pop next door to the Art gallery, which also put on performances of different types, or the cinema which is on the second floor. read more

I hate this place with a passion! The only good thing is that it has a Cadbury's outlet, the odd candle shop and the RED cinema. Apart from that it could burn to the ground and I wouldn't be seriously concerned or loose any sleep. As an Outlet Mall AKA the out of date rubbish that wouldn't sell at full price in the normal stores you may find something you like. however, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you!! Do you need tat as a gift for someone you don't like? YES you shout? Quick get in the car and drive to the Lowry Outlet Mall just off the M602 in Manchester!! Either that or have a look in the loft there is probably something equally as exciting up there. read more

The Lowry Outlet Mall does not hold much of an attraction to me. Having visited on a number of occasions I don't feel the range of shops justifies the fuss that is made about it. There are not many well-known stores here, and I've never really found a fantastic bargain. A couple of the shops that make it worthwhile are the Nike Factory Store, Marks and Spencer's and the Cadbury Shop. There is also a cinema here, which is one of the biggest attractions for me. One bonus to the Lowry is the car park. It is pretty enormous and comes with the unusual benefit of four hours free parking with any purchase at any store, or with a trip to the cinema. There are a few buses that run here, but not many. This could be improved. A few minutes walk away is the metrolink stop, which runs along the Eccles line. There is a small selection of restaurants to the rear of the Mall, and a food court with several fast food and healthy eating places. The Mall is opposite the new Lowry Art Gallery, which means you could easily spend a day shopping, looking around the Gallery and exploring the newly renovated Salford Quays. read more

I feel a little sorry for the Lowry Outlet Mall, but then again I also feel disappointed with it. It doesn't help that it's a really terrible piece of 'architecture' but with Salford Quays barely out of Pampers it's not surprising a complex such as this is hardly thriving. I only make the trip here when I've visited either the Lowry or the Imperial War Museum North - I park here (it is of course free for four hours) then have a quick browse on my way back to the car. The interior itself isn't entirely offensive, in fact it's airy and lightthe main problem is the lack of footfall. You can indeed pick up some great bargains (check out the discount Flannels store for pretty bonkers prices) if you're prepared to spend a bit of time searching. The M & S store has some good finds also. Thankfully the site contains the usual decent coffee stores (Costa and Coffee Republic) and the excellent Lime (the best thing to happen to the outlet in my opinion). It also houses yet another pizza express. I guess the area has barely reached it's potential - the views over the quays facing Old Trafford are superb - what a wonderful, unfulfilled waterfront we have on our doorstep. The Lowry Theatre complex and IWMN are fantastic, but it will need something else to come along to really get this area startedand I guess that's where Media City comes in. Given the scale of the BBC move here (and parts of the Quays are one huge construction site at the moment) I think the Lowry Outlet mall will survive and quite possibly diversify for the better. read more

The place is very rarely busy, and, if you're prepared to have a good root around, there are bargains to be had, making this a rewarding shopping experience. It's difficult for the Lowry Outlet Village to compete when there is the monster that is the Trafford Centre just 10 minutes drive away. What the Lowry does have is a Cinema that you won't have to queue endlessly to use, outlet stores (some good, some not), and a wonderful view outside of the Imperial War Museum. The Lowry is opposite so you can also pop in and look at the art. For the actual shopping, I can't honestly say it is amazing although Marks, Molton Brown and Claires has good bargains. But it is worth a visit as it is close to so many other significant landmarks. read more

The Lowry Outlet Mall has the potential to be fantastic but it just fails to deliver. On a positive it is so much better than when it first opened. Good shops include, Marks & Spencers, Nike, Karen Millen, Molton Brown, Flannels. There is a great craft shop on the top floor. I've never eaten in here as nothing takes my fancy so I'm unable to comment. The Lowry outlet mall also houses the Red Cinema, also known as Vue. You can park for free with any purchase/cinema ticket, but you need to get your parking ticket validated before leaving, ask in the shop where you made a purchase. read more

This place is fairly mediocre to be honest, but I find all outlet centres are!! I live really nearby so I find it worthwile to take a look round every now and then to see if there is any good bargains.... e.g. If you hit the Clarkes shoe outlet store at a good time you can strike it lucky and come out with bags full of quality shoes at great prices, but then you might not see anything else for the bext 3 months!! I guess the same applies to all of the shops here! Foodwise you have the normal chains... Bella Italia, Pizza express, Harvester, Burger king etc etc... If you live close definitely worth a look around byt wouldnt be driving miles and miles to check it out! read more

To go to Media City you need to take tram (20 min from City Centre) In this shopping centre you can buy lots on cheep price from shoes to kitchen equipments. I just had to write a short review on the Lowey discount shopping mall in Salford Quays Manchester. I went there with an open mind thinking it will be just one shop I was shocked to see a shopping centre there!! I think it is very good quality shops at a very good prices. Specially Marks and Spencer very good discounted prices. If you have not had the chance to visit the shopping mall I really do recommend you do also there are lots of restaurants to suit all budgets. read more

I like the dickies store allot. Such great bargains can be had, I look awesome all year round thanks to the dickies store. Any hip hop fans will no that dickies is an iconic brand, the secret is lost on most people. Hope it can survive. Nike probably isnt to bad if you are after something in particular that would cost more at JD, footlocker. The outlet as a whole does feel very old school and most shops are rubbish. It needs a poundland, a sports direct, and I think getting trendy type shops in would be a good idea, e.g like afflecks palace to attract students and bbc workers. I like the fact that its small, and not full of intimidating packs of youths like trafford center, arndale, ashton under lyne, hyde, stretford, oldham, stockport,. Not tried the cinema but will do. Free parking is cool to, although you do have to get a reciept if staying longer than half an hour. All in all I can see that this place could be a big success and salford clearly has had allot of money put into it, I hope it pays off as Manchester is to crowded, threatening and dirty. read more

Not really sure what the purpose this place is really. It is dubbed a place to get bargains and huge reductions from the high street yet most things are often equal to or higher than the high street! The selection of shops is pretty small, the food outlets are not up to much and it closes pretty early in comparision to most shopping centres. If you are thinking of going to get a bargain then think again and stick to the Trafford Centre or the city centre.... read more

I'm a fan of the Lowry centre, and the adjoining Lowry art gallery where the work of the great Artist, who gave his name to these places, can be seen free; yes great art free to see, please don't miss it if you are nearby. Here's my snapshot: The Lowry centre has an M&S outlet store - I find that when these began trading the deals were exceptional, but more and more they are being used to offload assorted rubbish, seconds and cheaper stuff is being deliberately plied to sell specifically at Outlet places: you know capitalism at its worst always sets out to systematically rip off. There's a Tefal store which is not badly priced and a pretty good M&S furniture outlet. There are a few well overpriced suitcase stores - when you consider what a suitcase is made from the prices even allegedly discounted is appalling. A Body shop and a Molten & Brown are there for those who pamper themselves and a really fab discount pro cook store where I recently acquired stainless steel non stick heavy pots & pans at a real deal with a further 20% discount special on the day. I was so pleased that I popped into Whittards and bought some Margaret's Hope first flush Darjeeling and Guatamelen elephant coffee beans. The food places are ok but I'm not attracted to most of them. I noted a place selling ridiculously over priced New Zealand ice cream - I refuse to buy this as there are plenty of British ice cream independents who make ace ice cream - mind you most stuff here is low end quality well overpriced. On the fringe of the centre you now have a Nandos, Lime, a Chinese eat all you like and other places like Harvesters and a few Italian style places but I can cook most Italian at home and usually baulk at the overpriced pseudo Italian places around here. I know I'm a food snob or maybe knob? And within 10 minutes there's a Booth's good store that's ace and a Marco P White restaurant nestled inside the Holiday Inn. Best of all shop in the Lowry and there's generous free parking allowances but no doubt if it becomes more popular capitalism will want to screw us here too!? read more

The Lowry Outlet Mall is a discount shopping centre lying directly opposite the Lowry theatre complex. It contains a few well-known shops such as Marks & Spencers and Past Times as well as many lesser known stores selling clothes, shoes and a variety of other gifts. It also has a food court and an 8-screen Vue cinema. Unless you're visiting the Lowry itself, I wouldn't bother making a special visit here. It always seems to be pretty quiet and as many of the shops are quite small, it also has a fairly limited selection compared to the Trafford Centre or central Manchester. I've been to the Lowry Outlet for shopping once, but have been through it a number of times to get to the theatre, and what I do like is that if you buy something from one of the shops they will 'validate' you car park ticket; for instance, you can go and buy a pair of socks or similar (has to be over £5 though I think) then they will validate your car park ticket, in other words you get free parking. Better to have a pair of socks than nothing at all. This is the same for the restaurants - in fact you get 6 hours parking with a restaurant validation, whereas it's only 4 with the shops. The shops themselves are ok; Cheshire Oaks has a lot more on offer. That said they do have quite a few shops Cheshire Oaks don't have, like the Mikey and Black and Decker stores. read more

A beautiful shop with wonderful goodies, the only trouble is the assistants pounce on you when you go in. I want to browse my self, but it was too high pressure for me and i left without buying anything. I had gone in for some heavenly gingerliliy smellies. I will do it online, less hassle. read more
