The rest of the staff with whom I interacted was good too! The reason I am giving this review 4 stars instead of 5 is there were certain employees in the gift shop who left a little to be desired. They seemed as if they didn't really want to be there. Could have caught them on a bad day, but I noticed a difference between those few and the rest of the staff around the premisis.

We got there did the boat tour and left, so upset that I forgot about the picture and didn't get souvenirs. We went in the earlier part of the morning around 10 AM, we were prepared to get bit by mosquitos, to get wet, and the terrible heat. We were lucky we did not get a single bite by mosquitos, the boat got wet at our feet, but we did not, and the boat is covered so heat was not bad. We saw like 8 alligators, some birds and turtles. We had an amazing time, so worth the time and drive. Would not mind doing this tour again.

What a nostalgia trip! I went on this boat maybe 35 years ago and remembered it fondly. I still…read moreremember several of the stories and jokes I heard aboard way back then. When my family was embarking on a cruise from Fort Lauderdale, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce my own kids to the Jungle Queen. It's a short boat ride that takes you through the canals behind the mansions and quasi-famous homes on the water. Your guide on board will tell you about the homes and landmarks you pass en route. There is a bar on board, so no need to sail sober! LOL There are also a few snacks for purchase. The air movement on the boat keeps you from getting too warm, even when the sun is blazing, but don't forget your sunscreen. There's no bad seat aboard. All in all, it's a nice little boat ride if you're looking to get outside and burn some time in Fort Lauderdale. There is a string of food shops along the waterfront outside the entrance, so you can plan to grab lunch or dinner before or after your ride. We really enjoyed our trip, but I'm deducting one star due to the boat traffic (which I know they cannot really help). Maneuvering around all the other drunks in their watercraft was kind of a drag.

It was late in the day and we had tried to do some Airboat Tours earlier in the week but we were traveling with our dog and they were not dog friendly. We decided to stop just to check and luckily for us, not only are they dog friendly but they were doing one last tour before the sunlight was gone. Our guide Fabian was awesome. He was super chill but informative and really did a great job. Especially considering that is was late in the day and he was only able to find one alligator. He definitely tried a lot of spots and it was clear that there would normally have been more wildlife to look as so even he seemed a bit disappointed but he definitely made the most of the birds and other wildlife that we did spot. There was a second alligator and even a baby gator when we arrived at the makeshift village stop that we watched swim in the water a bit. I really liked that Fabian was upfront about the fact that the "village" was just a replica for tourists and not really a relic. He also joked that he has a TV and it is nothing like how native people live today. We had a really nice time on the tour but it is incredibly loud and we spent some of the tour putting our headphones over our dogs ears to protect her from the sound. The office workers warned us about the noise though and they were so sweet they even offered to let her stay in the office with them while we took the tour. I definitely would not take her with us again if we did another tour, but only because I worried about her little ears. She did super well with everything else, including the gator being so close to us and getting on and off the boat. We spent well over $100 after tip on the tour for two people and a dog and it lasted about 45 minutes but I really feel like the experience was well worth the price and the employees here were just so friendly and kind. I highly recommend stopping here and taking a tour with this company.

It's wonderful to be home and look through our souvenirs, read pages of my travel journal and share…read morethousands of photographs & videos. Reminiscing about our adventures, guides, animals & meals in Nairobi, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, Victoria Falls, Okavango Delta & Cape Town is overwhelming; this was truly a trip of a lifetime! My favorite trips feel personal & authentic. I don't just tick off sights following the crowd, but value seeing new places through the eyes of locals. We do not travel on big tour buses, seek out American meals & stay at hotels that feel like home. This is why we chose the African Adventure Company; it's what tailor-made travel is all about. We did not picking from a pre-made list of tours, but worked with local experts who know Africa inside & out, and took the time to understand how we like to travel. The African Adventure Co. designed a full itinerary from scratch, booked everything, arranged transportation, special guides while we stayed in small, intimate, rustic & luxurious accommodations. Our African adventure was seamless, everything flowed perfectly. If anything went off-track at home or away, there was always someone right there to can help. Everyone has asked what my favorite part was; I loved the great migration in Serengeti with Monah our guide. Unzipping my tent in Tanzania & finding myself face to face with a huge elephant. Hearing the birds chirping, rhinos munching and the lions roaring throughout the night. Catching the leopards in the trees, cheetas chasing a wildebeest, servals, lions tearing into a zebra leg & giraffes leaning over to peer at us. Our sunrise balloon ride over millions of zebras, wildebeest & antelopes migrating. Sipping our way through Stellenbosch. Celebrating Independence Day In Botswana ... Every meal was delicious; on safari it felt like we were eating constantly. We were awoken before sunrise with French press African coffee. Breakfast was served around 6 AM. We enjoyed a coffee break around 9:30 and brunch at 11:30. High Tea was a 4:00, Sundown cocktails at 6:30 and dinner at 8:30. I didn't move much; once I climbed into the land cruiser I watched Africa pass me by. Now I have to get back into my routine & watch what I eat!
