We had the pleasure of having Kool Covers install 3 covers (patio, carport, swim spa) and a cement pad. The 23ft x13ft for a 19ft x 8ft swim spa 23000lbs wet weight 4 inch rebar). Jeremiah stayed in close contact about the appointment for the bid. He was prompt, friendly, professional and discussed freely and openly all pros and cons to each option. We had 11 other bids. Most bids were higher (2 extremely high), a couple lower (you had to question the ability to do a good job) and several in the same general range. The choice to have Kool Covers was an easy choice the honesty, experience in the industry, price, and quality expected in their work stood out. The job had to be done in strict time frames. The pad had to be poured and cured, fence removed to bring the spa in, the fence had to be back up the next day and the new siding painted and the covers installed. The pad was done less than a week after the contract was signed. Due to weather and other parties delays the spa and fence were delayed 6 weeks. Jeremiah stayed in contact via phone, text, and email. This was nice not having to worry about when on if the cover crew would be here and working in the allotted time frame. With weather cooperation and the other contractors completing their jobs Kool Covers went to work on schedule! The crew of two men worked like a well oiled team. The crew answered any questions and explained everything they were doing. Three covers one patio 10ft x27ft, one carport 20ft x20ft, and one spa cover 24ft X 14ft X 12 ft tall. Installed in one day!!! The crew swept, and left NO mess (unlike the other contractors). The spa cover and patio cover each have an additional two foot tall cement sleeve around the support poles. We learned a valuable lesson with our first covers about male dogs and rain. The old covers support pole and attaching bracket rusted due to male dogs and rain water puddling around the pole and slab attachment. Thanks to Jeremiah his willingness to discuss pros and cons, as well as positive attitude finding answers the dogs and rain won't rot/rust out at the bottom. Would I use or recommend Kool Covers YES, YES, YES for myself, family, friends or anyone wanting a professional, reputable, fairly priced and good quality job!!!

He said he'd do it, so we kept him in mind for the job. In May 2023, we decided to simply replace the whole awning and go high tech. Ron came out to review the details of the project, and he's a guy that is always on time. Ron's a very personable guy and lays out your options and cost very clearly. We selected their "Eclipse Retractable Shading System" that is powered by Somfy System, which specializes in motorized solutions for homes and buildings. My wife picked out the color and fabric of the cover and we could not be happier with the way it turned out. The day of installation went very well. Ron had two guys remove, cut up, and haul off the old awning and install the new one. Ron was here and did the final setup. The system comes with remotes that work well. We added Somfy's TaHoma Wi-Fi system that works great and is easy to setup from your smart phone. We love it. Our new awning is providing great valve to our home. Ron and his team will be there to provide excellent support if needed. We highly recommend Excel Awning & Shade.

The installation of our two electric awnings was superb and, while a missing accessory required them to come back a few days later, they followed up exactly as promised - a rare quality, these days. We first considered Sunsetter awnings, but, after looking on line, found out that many complained about their lack of service and support. After doing much research, we found Excel Awning & Shade, which sells, installs, and supports Ranier awnings. We couldn't be happier with our selection of both the awnings and the company that installed them. While we are confident that our new awnings will provide good service, we are confident that Ron and his team will be there to provide us with top-shelf support if ever needed. First class products and first class service - a winning combination!

The contracts were executed on November 4, 2025 (Bellaire) and December 2, 2025 (Memorial), and deposits were paid. For the Bellaire location, after the contract was signed, additional installation requirements were introduced that were not disclosed at the time of signing and were not part of the executed agreement. These changes significantly altered the scope of the work. When we asked for clarification or alternative solutions, the situation did not move toward resolution. Instead, communication escalated to default notices and demands rather than scheduling or moving the project forward. For the Memorial location, there were no additional installation requirements; however, we were repeatedly told the project was "on track," yet no installation date was ever provided. This led to delays and unnecessary escalation. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this company make sure all installation requirements, scope details, and conditions are clearly spelled out in writing before signing a contract, and that the agreement clearly addresses remedies such as refunds or other protections if performance is delayed or not completed as agreed.

I've got to replace all the incorrectly installed wood. ...because, it's peeling very quickly. I had this deck installed in 2020, and within a month it was showing major signs of bad wood/poor installation. The owner of this company, Scott Maust refused to correct the problem. As a matter of fact, when the deck was being built, he was barely around to manage the project. Basically, he ripped me off. Whatever you do, do not use this business to build your deck. Sadly, I'm not the only person that he ripped off, or did poor quality work. AGAIN, DO NOT USE ALIGN PRO TO BUILT YOUR DECK!!!

While I ended up with most of what I had hoped for, getting the work done was an absolute nightmare…read moreand we are now living with several of AlignPro's errors. The renovation consisted of the master bathroom, floor tile in the master closet and laundry, updating a half bath and electrical fixtures. However, if I hadn't designed the areas to be rehabbed, done a ton of research, supplied elevation drawings, supplied all fixtures for the entire job, as well as much of the materials, and overseen the day-to-day work, it would have been a complete mess. According to Scot, his company never start a job until the last one is finished, and he or his foreman will be on-site at all times. Both statements are completely false. When he started my job it was obvious they were working several sites, and they were absent 90% of the time, including several weeks when Scot went on holiday. The only time they showed up was if I demanded it. Otherwise, Scot would occasionally come in for 5 to 10 minutes in the morning then disappear. His trades had no respect for Scot and they would often not show up for days at a time and when they did show up they wouldn't listen to his instructions, making countless errors, which in hindsight is not surprising since he was disorganized, couldn't create a timeline for his trades, and he was chronically absent. I happen to work at home and I can't imagine the problems I would have had to face if I left to work elsewhere all day. Scot treated me as if I was his assistant, even calling me to find out who was in my house working! It was left to me to allow people access, police his trades, and answer their questions. To list just a few of the many problems... His tile setter was the slowest I've ever encountered in rehabbing approx 20 houses. If they were slow and excellent no problem, but they made countless mistakes which Scot blamed on the language barrier even though they had drawings to follow. Scot then charged me for the extra tiles he had to purchase to fix his tile-setter's errors. His electricians were particularly absent and inept, slowing the progress and causing previously operating switches to no longer operate, (after those switches had not been flagged as problematic during our home inspection prior to purchasing the property, and which had operated for months without any problems). The electrician also admitted frying a new ceiling fan and told me to return it to Home Depot and lie to them saying it was defective (which I refused to do). They also mis-measured the center of the bathroom wall causing 5 new fixtures to be removed and reinstalled in the correct locations. Also, his carpenter had to build the bathtub enclosure 3 times to get it right, yet still didn't use pressure-treated wood as specified. Eventually, Scot came demanding final payment. I questioned some of his charges which he said were for "change orders" although I couldn't recall a single signed change order. He was adamant his bills were correct. His contract states that charges for changes consist of materials and labor plus his 30% take (much higher than the 10-15% normal). I wrote him the check figuring that because we had mutual friends and he would not want to have a review like this posted anywhere, he would correct any overcharges either by working them off or paying me back. As I considered his supposed "changes" I realized that he was counting his and his trades' errors as "changes" to the tune of $17,900.00. I asked him to supply me with the invoices, quotes, and signed change orders for all the changes he is claiming. He refused. I have no final billing paperwork for the entire $50K rehab. He also refused to come back and finish the last bits and pieces that always linger on a rehab, such as applying caulking in the shower stall etc, filling holes and touching up grout, paint and other caulking, pressure washing where his guys worked in the driveway and several other items. While the items are small, the list is long. Scot has now simply washed his hands of these problems and quit, refusing to warranty his work. I have sent Scot many emails and texts requesting he justify his charges. I pointed out three charges that are in all probability bogus, so he sent me a check for those three. I wasn't asking for money, just a paper trail to justify his charges. I wish he would be businesslike about this and back up his charges instead of sending me an email that is the equivalent of a toddler's tantrum. His reaction makes me certain these are bogus charges and just the tip of the iceberg; otherwise, why wouldn't he simply hand over the paperwork as justification? Give this company a wide berth.
