Two boys matriculated through QTLC, oldest was there from 2yo through Kindergarten. Youngest is currently enrolled and will be there for as long as he can be. It's like sending them to an HBCU as an elementary school. They don't play games when it comes to educating and providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children. At times you may feel like the kids are more of a priority than you as a parent, that's fine with me. The administration and teachers have always treated me with respect and courtesy; they will let you know what's in the best interest for your child, whether you want to hear it or not. Their standard curriculum for your child will be one year ahead of the rest of the region... so my oldest son came out of the school leaps and bounds ahead of his peers...some of his friends went to public school and their families had to fight for more advanced work to stimulate their children... If you care about the quality of education and genuine commitment from administration and staff to care for and guide your young child, then this is the place. My wife and I tell other black parents that it's the 'hidden gem' of Silver Spring.... I highly recommend this school for all the good reasons. They delivered as promised! Our son went from being nervous about attending school to loving school - thanks to the amazing learning environment that Quality Time Learning Center (QTLC) creates for children. The school came highly recommended by parents whose kids (most who are now teenagers) attended QTLC. The word of mouth testimony from these different sources convinced us to give it a try and we are glad that we did! Our son did learn and grow a lot! He was always excited about his teachers (Mrs. Creek and Ms Amy) and classmates. He transitioned into Kindergarten this Summer and we are excited to see him put into practice all that he learned here (QTLC's curriculum is more advanced). We are still in touch with some of his classmates and their parents from Pre- K - thanks to the friendships cultivated here. Throughout our time at QTLC, the administrative staff and classroom teachers were very friendly and responsive. We really appreciate Mr. Crump and all the team members at QTLC. Honest review: This is one of most unorganized and dishonest centers I have ever stepped foot In. The lack of compassion and empathy is appalling and unacceptable. The leadership team do not have a clear method of communication amongst their staff and lack accountability. The owner and center director are not on the same page and seem to be more focused on their personally feelings than improving and bettering their center. They need to seriously reevaluate their systems and adopt a new approach. I do not recommend this to anyone! read more

All three of my children have attended QTLC. Their curriculum is far above any other day care. My husband and I loved it so much that we kept both our daughters there for Kindergarten and plan to do the same for our son. If there was an option to rate this daycare 0 stars I would! My experience with quality time has been a nightmare. My son has came back with marks multiple times, which I let be because I know kids can have accidents at times, but it's not until I had an incident where one of the staff members tied my 2yr old son shoe laces extremely tight around his ankle causing a deep mark and his circulation to stop where I had concerns and spoke with the directer about and was left with no answers, in fact she caught an attitude and told me that it was another two year old that possibly did it, which is completely bogus and insane to state. This daycare hires anyone possible off the streets, teachers are constantly leaving and it's not appropriate to keep having change, especially for children. All this daycare cares about is taking your money, this is the only daycare I know that charges you if you drop your child off after 9am. If you care about your childs well being, I will highly suggest you take them elsewhere because I truly believe that this daycare is not a safe or sanitary place for a child read more

My son was enrolled in this school and had the worst experience. The owner made made rude and condescending remarks to me in front of my 4 year old child. The Leadership have no idea about educating children. He makes random nonsensical rules about uniforms, color of shoes, shoelaces, and many other non education related nonsense for 3 and 4 year olds. My 4 year old was suspended apparently for tardiness and they failed to provide any written documentation. Overall, owner is unprofessional, rude to women, school smells bad, leadership seriously lacks training in education management. I have had pleasant experience while I sent my first kid few years back .Expecting the same I enrolled my second child.I had to pull my kid out mid year for safety reasons.The place has lost its basics that one expect from kindergarten.They no longer show plan on how to assist in children development. They have much less staff than couple of years ago.That could explain the dirty floors,disorganized rooms,overwhelmed staff who take ''cigarette''break away from their desk. If you have to send your kid I recommend to meet the principal and teacher.I also mainly I recommend un announced mid day visits. read more

Mr. Bryan has to go. Sorry, but I'm not. I just moved to the DMV area on Sunday, December 30th and inquired about this school. I received a phone call today and was completely turned off by our conversation. I explained to the man over the phone that my daughter wouldn't be able to start until the end of the month, early February and this appeared to be an issue. Now, I can appreciate transparency, but to turn someone away because the assumption that my child will be "behind" and needs to start "now" instead of the end of the month is ridiculous. His tone. His approach. What he said. Yuck. Completely not a school that I would want my child to attend if I can barely get in the door to see the program because my child can't start tomorrow. I also asked for tuition twice and never received an answer. He just went back to how "hard" it may be for my child to "catch up" to the other students. Be on alert, My sons Time here came to an abrupt in due to an hostile encounter with Mr.Bryan. Before today my sons time at quality had been mostly pleasant. The women there seem nurturing and enjoyed their jobs. Last week i was handed a paper without explanation and i noticed it had a balance. I explained that this can't be right because i paid already for December on my birthday and your brother took my payment. His brother sat next to him and did agree with my statement. I gently sat down the paper and Mr Bryan got upset presumably because i was not taking an incorrect paper. Mr.Bryan got angry and yelled and told me that if i didn't pay my son wouldn't be allowed back to the center. I told him to have a nice day and i hope that he reconciles the account because your brother just told you that i paid. He yelled that his brother doesn't handle that i do! I exited the building and Mr. Bryan walked after me with the paper yelling about the account. I told him to stop following me or i would call police because he kept walking behind me while i went to my car. He stopped only after i said i would call the police. The next day meeting with Ms. Saloni and Mr. Crump i was told my account was CURRENT and i was actually OWED 10 dollars. I received an apology from Mr. Crump but not the son. I don't want an apology from him. I would like to share my experience to help other parents make a wise choice about who and what their children are exposed to. Now with the knowledge shared with me by Mr. Crump about his sons issues with conflict resolution and anger, it explains but does not justify what he did in front of parents, teachers, and children. no staff intervened meaning (the other brother). It is not okay for you to subject parents or children to this treatment that wasn't warranted. I work hard and pay on time as I'm sure the other mothers there do and when it comes to money and accounts you should have someone with a better temperament in that position. Great school! Wonderful caring teachers. Positive environment. I just can't say enough good things about this school and our family's experience. As with any business there are things that I do not like or agree with, but at the end of the day none of that would prevent me from sending my son there or recommending the place. My son and his friends are in a community; the parents know each other , the staff knows all of the childrens names, and the kids remain friends through out their time at QTELC. Which is extremely important for the stablity at this age. It encourages a foundation and love of learning. Before attending Quality Time my 4 year old could identify letters and some numbers, write most letters and some numbers, and could read basic sight words from memorization. After attending Quality Time for 1 month I saw a dramatic improvement in penmanship and my child can write all numbers and letters. After 2 months, my child was sounding out words, reading, spelling, and thinking through addition and subtraction problems. I am impressed with how far she has come in a short time - Mr. Chris and Ms. Creek did wonders in getting her up to speed and adjusted to the pace. When I pickup my child she always wants to stay longer to take part in whatever activity is going on at the time - so I know she loves it. I did not give it 5 stars because I am not a fan of some of the procedure and policy that the school has, and feel like the parents are treated like children sometimes in basic interaction with some staff. read more

Great learning environment! Our son is in pre-K 4's and is blossoming! He started last year and has continued to grow. My son was enrolled for about 2 months. The owner/Administrator Mr.Crump is a rude inconsiderate person!! He became very disrespectful towards me while I was dropping my son off "late"..I asked to be able to speak to my son's teacher because he was out the day before. I was told it was against policy and Parents weren't allowed in the classroom after 9..He also said he would be escorted by a staff member and as I continued to voice my opinion regarding the need to speak with the teacher he became very upset and insisted on expelling him because of that! When I first visited the school, I was blown away by the academic work of the Pre-K and Kinder kids, and a very kind Director and teachers. We enrolled my son in the PreK class - he had come from the montessori system, and at 4 years old, barely recognized letters and numbers. All this changed under the wonderful teaching of Mr. Sean and Ms. Sue. Six months later, my son now reads "bob" books (three/four letter books), mastered phonetics, and is even adding and subtracting up to ten. They also teach kindness, inclusion, and respect. The teachers clearly love my son - which makes me feel reassured when I'm at work. I am so proud of my son - who just said his favorite thing at QTLC is the classwork and his friends. read more

This place seems is disorganized. I've been trying to reach someone over the phone for weeks and it has been disconnected. There are several different numbers on the web and I called all of them and can't get through. Either someone doesn't answer or it's disconnected. The website doesn't exist. Going to their site takes you to a "domain is for sale" portal or to an empty page (they have several addresses online too). So this begs the question... if my kid were going here and something were to happen, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO REACH THEM? I can't trust this place. Too bad I gave my $180 registration fee and have to lose that money but I'd rather get out before something does happen and I can't reach them. I have been to their office for a couple of questions, one of my question was if they could add my email to the email tried. Because I am not receiving any emails regarding my Son,I got the answer NO. I thought when i fill the form it should converted into system,so that i could get an email from them. I gave my ID and point out that all my information is in the system and my name is listed to pick not only just my Son but two of my extended family kids. I was talking to other couple of people while I'm talking with the manager.we where in the second room with all those two people, because the manager didn't invite me to her office. The other women said no the the manager and hand me stickynot to write down my email, I did, and give it to her(she understood). Then everyone got mad, became dramatic. said I was disrespectful.They escleted to the next level. This gentleman jump in to our conversation and star shouting APOLOGIZE multiple times to my face. I asked him to stop I only can talk one person at a time. Honestly, it's because I didn't hand the sticky not to the manager. Finally, he started shouting GET OUT multiple times. This is a great school that has made many improvements for the better. The teachers are wonderful. My child now goes to public schools and he is very advance; the teacher gives him classwork/homework that is given to the next grade level. This is because Quality time teaches from text books that are one grade level higher. for instance 3 year olds are taught Pre-k work (also this school will have your child writing and spelling at 3), kindergarten are taught 1st grade level work and so on. I love the fact that they have a well gated playground area with an all turf playtop. This helps prevent the kids from getting badly scrapped up when falling. they even play music on the outdoor speakers while the kids play. The director and staff take some getting use too but they LOVE the kids. The director is always walking around the school interacting with the kids. He really treats them like their his own. PROS: 1. Great Education. Better than public schools 2. Challenge Students academically 3. Safe playground 4. wonderful wall art around the school 5. Fish tank in hall that the kids LOVE. 6. Wonderful teachers that LOVE kids. 7. Has their own Friendly Crossing Guard 8. Great hours 7-6pm 9. Prek and 1st grade have interactive whiteboards and individual tablets (tablets must be returned at the end of the year). 10. Offers summer camps with same hours as the regular school year. CONS: 1.The kids are required to wear uniform shirts only at 3. and a full uniform (Pants, school shirt, socks and shoes) However this can be a pro if you don't like planning what your child has to wear the next day. 2. Can be a little pricey, but cheap compared to other private schools. They do take vouchers. 3. they close at 6. I wish they would extend it to 6:30 to give parents a little wiggle room when running late. Specially for parents who get off work at 5:30. 4. Parents must bring Breakfast, Lunch and snack for their children. They do offer meal plans but they are a little pricey. 5. they offer spanish classes but you have to pay extra. I wish this would be included in the tuition for all kids. 6. Sometimes the front of the school has a slight smell covered by air freshner. But that's because the little babies rooms are right there.
