We have raised our concerns whereupon the tile doctor came back and tried another treatment on part of the floor - no difference. He then claimed it was a problem with rising damp and salt. however as far as a humidity tester can tell all tiles are dry. We think the floor has been cleaned too aggressively and we would not recommend him or employ him again.

(even though they come from Surrey) I've cancelled all other units I had planned for them as I don't feel it was an honest service and when I explained why they didn't seem to care either.

It has two floors of our quadrilateral buddies, the ground floor stocks towers of tiles of all sizes and the upper level is a showroom of fake kitchens and bathrooms which display the tiles to great effect. The selection here is extensive and the staff are extremely helpful. They will lug enormous travertine monsters across the shop for your perusal and if you over estimate and go a little crazy when you buy, you can return any unused stock with a receipt and they will give you a full refund. Topps Tiles stocks tiles made from glass, porcelain, limestone and slate amongst other materials. There is a full stock of accessories including cutting tools and grout. Nice tiles and good service- what more could you want?

Having said that, in general terms in life you get what you pay for, and that's certainly true here: the proprietor is a fantastic bathroom/bedroom designer and we are delighted with the quality of the bathroom we now have. Langleys don't do tiles: they have their own special equivalent called Versatil which comes in a single bespoke pieces -- you can get an idea of what this looks like from their website. It costs more, but it's so much better than a tiled finish -- (a) it looks better, and (b) there's no grouting so the cleaning's better too. This is typical of their approach: they compete on quality, not price. The shop is worth a visit as the showrooms they have there give a good reflection of what you're likely to get. The customer service is good too: once you go with them they'll sort out everything for you and make sure you're reasonably well looked after all the way. The workmen they employed to do our bathroom were excellent and left the place clean, tidy and safe each night. In short, if you've got the money, investigate Langleys: they're very good.
