I told her it was my first time in, and she seemed very pleased with that. They were playing good music (classic rock) which created a nice atmosphere. The decor is mostly Joliet and Chicago centric, though I didn't have the feeling I was in a sports-centric place like some chain competitors, and I thought it was cool that they had a lot of local knowledge in the room there. I mean, a Frank Lloyd Wright book was on the coffee table in the waiting area. Old-school comfortable barber chairs, like you don't find in today's salons. One nice thing about this particular barber was she didn't move the chair at all while I was on it. I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not, but I noticed it. Way more comfortable than some of the people that seem to whip you around on those things. She also didn't invade my "space" like most seem to do. You get the neck shave at the end with a hot towel, which is also a rarity these days and a nice touch. It was $23, which may be a little higher than some in the area for a men's cut. I feel like I got my money's worth here. It's one of the best cuts I've gotten in a long time, for sure in this town.

Since I have let my hair grow out for a bit longer than normal, the girl taking care of me had to use a trimmer to take some of the hair down. Which, was a good touch. Then, she took her time shaving my head. It was a pretty legit shave. I was dozing in and out with how relaxed I was. Talked tattoos, which, is always good. Then, I got my beard lined up. All in all, it was a very good experience. However, even after getting in the barber chair the proper way...I ended up stepping on the foot rest. I got chided. Besides not paying attention at the end and stepping off the rest, place was definitely a good spot. Oh, and, by the time I was leaving the shop definitely had a good few customers in it.

Best Barbershop in Joliet…read more Moving from Chicago to Joliet one of the main things I was worried about was where I will be cutting my hair. Getting comfortable with 1 person for so many years and having to go look for someone else made me nervous. Being new here, I took myself to google and just searched " Best Barbershops around me " and bang Elite Barber Lounge showed up. I was impressed by the reviews and pictures, so I decided to try them. After going there and giving it a try, I would say that this place has become my go-to place whenever I need a haircut. From the outside, the place looked abandoned with no pictures in sight, just the shop's name, and all-black tinted windows. When I went inside I was surprised as everything looked professional and high quality. While waiting for my turn, I started to look at the people getting their haircuts and my nerves just disappeared. Every haircut getting done looked like those pictures you find on google and are just impressed. From only looking around the place, the place looked like the one. My name gets called up so it's my turn to get a haircut. The Barber took his time and was even cracking jokes here and there. After he was done cutting my hair he passed me a mirror so I'm able to look at the haircut and I was just so happy and felt relieved. The crispiness of the fade and the lines were amazing. All in all, the experience was great, and I would rate it 5 stars. The service, the cleanliness, and the comfort this shop brings made it all a great experience. This has become my go-to spot and if you're looking for a shop in Joliet, I recommend you give it a shot.
