TL:DR I liked the place but several people found fault. Ask for room 200. That's where I am right now, and it's great. Book your hotels thru Priceline. I'm a bit surprised by all the negative comments about this hotel, and, specifically, the rooms. Mine must have been recently renovated, because the bedding was new and clean and better than Fairfield Inns and some Courtyards I've stayed at. It was clean and the furniture was in good condition. The sink area had marble (faux?). I haven't used the shower yet but, even though the fixtures are new-ish, the drain looks kinda old and groaty. It was cold outside, and after dark (almost Oct), so I couldn't see the pool, even though my room overlooked it. There may be some older rooms, though, because several people warned about various problems. This is an older hotel, and it's showing its age, but I've stayed at much worse. I like the free breakfast, (at least I HOPE I will). I haven't eaten at a Denny's in probably 20 years, so I don't know what to expect. I got the room thru Priceline for $59 a night, so my expectations have been exceeded. I always use Priceline for hotels, unless I'm using points. I left my room in good condition, so you can ask for Room 200 when you check in. I left it in perfect condition. read more

While the front desk staff was kind, the hotel left much to be desired. There were people loitering outside and in the lobby in the middle of the night. The floor in the room was dirty and not vacuumed. The sheets were not clean and had black spots. Staff was not surprised when asked for a refund. Ten ten would NOT recommend! We are on a two week road trip and picked our motels based on ones that had pools/hot tubs and free breakfast. This one had a pool but the hot tub was chained and padlocked. This should have been mentioned in the ad so we would know that we would not be able to use the hot tub. The breakfast ended at 9 am. We were never told it would end so early. The tv was the smallest one in all the places we have stayed in the past week. The rooms were clean. The evening staff person was friendly but not very helpful. When I tried to explain to him that my address was incorrect he was rude and said that I could only correct it with the company that I made the reservation. read more

Beware undisclosed fees! At check-in, a new employee took nearly 15 minutes to find my reservation I had made at Choice.com! It took another employee to arrive that knew more but cared less, and I was given a room. I went up to the assigned room and it was NOT CLEANED! I lugged my large suitcase back downstairs to the front desk to get anther room. Upon checkout, I was not given a receipt but was told the charge amount. When I asked why it was several dollars more than I was quoted at Choice.com, the man said "they only estimate the taxes." I later got a receipt from Choice Customer Service, and they had charged $2.00 for a SAFE! This fee was NEVER disclosed, and I never even saw a safe in the room! Was told have free guest wifi with no password needed. Pulled it up in room, signed on. Said Connected, no Internet. Went to phone to call front desk. Label o n phone said dial 0 for front desk. Dialed 0, only dial tone. Called hotels phone number. Said they'd check server. No wifi that night or next morning. Was going to mention on our way out after breakfast (which was good) but she'd placed a sign on counter saying "be back shortly," Waited about 5 minutes and didn't return. Was going to suggest that instead of telling guests at check in there's no pw, but instead that there is no internet. We're in the middle of a cross-country move and booked our stay at the Quality Inn well in advance. When we arrived after 10+ hours on the road, we were informed that they had booked the room we had already reserved and paid for, didn't have a room ready for us, and eventually put us in a room with one bed instead of the two we had booked. The room was filthy AF & absolutely disgusting. It stank like a high school boys locker room crossed with a dirty barn, there were pubes in the sink and shower (including the shower ledge), blood spots on the comforter, sticky spots & stains all over the furniture surfaces, handprints and fingerprints all over the bottoms of the mirrors, and some kind of dirt or crumbs all over the carpet. We didn't want to be precious and we were exhausted so we figured we'd just suck it up, but after listening to 45 minutes of non-stop shrieking from the 20+ young women in the pool outside our window, we asked if we could be moved to a different room on the outside of the hotel. We were told they could move us 3 doors down - further into the noise - but that was all they could do because pets can only stay in that cluster of nasty rooms right off the pool for whatever reason. We looked for another hotel in the area & after finding nothing close by, we decided to stick it out. We really regretted that this morning after an abysmally restless night due to how noisy it is and how little the curtains do to black out the bright-ass lights shining through the windows, and especially when we noticed more blood stains on our comforter and pulled it back to discover there were even more on the sheets underneath. When we asked to speak to a manager upon checkout, we were told by a very jaded front desk clerk that the manager was not there (shocker), but that we could leave our complaints & they'd call us back. She listened to us contemptuously, didn't apologize once, didn't offer any sort of recompense, and seemed like this was a routine she was well used to. There was also a $50 upcharge for our pets that we weren't informed of until we arrived, and they charge an extra $6 to stay on the ground floor (which you don't seem to be able to do if you have a pet, so if you're disabled, you're SoL). There is no elevator and there are no luggage carts. There were no pet waste bags in the dispenser in the pet area. Dead roaches all over the ground everywhere. The building is not secure at all and anyone can walk in off the streets and right up to your room. All close non-fast food restaurants close at 9pm and the fast food options are grim. If you can stay anywhere else, do it; this place is beyond foul. read more

Absolutely do not stay here under any circumstances. The parking lot is sketchy with cars that don't have hoods circling the lot and random sketchy people standing around staring. I definitely didn't feel safe. The person at the front desk seemed like they've never had dogs stay before but we chose this hotel because it's supposedly dog friendly. The corridor to our room smelled really bad, like an 80's perm smell. The room didn't smell any better. It was also full of stains. On the carpet, on the curtains. Our dogs were on edge the whole time we were here. From the person who checked us in last night to the person who checked us out this morning to the woman serving food at breakfast: not one of them was wearing a mask. If it wasn't for the fact that we had been driving for 12 hours and finding dog friendly hotels isn't easy, we wouldn't have stayed here. I refused to even take my shoes off until getting into bed and even then slept in pants and socks because the room didn't feel clean/safe. The only person wearing a mask was the maid. Most staff were very nice. Stopped overnight on cross country road trip. The property is circa 1965 I'm guessing, with some valiant attempts at renovation. Entire facility, other than the room, was filthy, tattered and tawdry. Value wise this is a $49 trucker hotel masquerading as a mid-tier. Pervasive funk smell. Crawling with PWT. Happy to have slept on top of bedding long enough to flee without getting fleas. They offer a "breakfast buffet" voucher for the adjacent Denny's which should be investigated by the franchising corporation for quality compliance. For the price- this place was excellent. The staff was kind when checking in, very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned well. The grounds were well maintained. The pool was clean and even had a little area for kids to play in. The breakfast staff was also very kind. They had a pancake making machine that was really cool- another great perk. The absolute worst stay I have ever had. The front desk was polite and helpful, but after that it was all downhill. The room smelled like cat urine and was not in good condition. A large group (staying in rooms on both sides of us) were drinking and playing loud music on the balcony from the time we checked in until a fight broke out around 4:00AM. After the cussing from adults and crying of children subsided we were finally able to sleep briefly before deciding to leave and never return. read more

After driving for 19 hours anything would have been 5 stars, however, the gentleman at the front desk was so very polite I walked out of the office with a smile so grateful for superior service. I was a little disappointed, the website said indoor Spa, but to find out the pool and spa were actually in an inner courtyard, not indoors. The room was warm and clean. To top of the great experience, there was enough Hot water and water pressure for all 4 of my family members to wash off the grime of the road. In a so-called pet-friendly room. Stained sofa, uncomfortable bed (are these fleas biting me?), awful pillows, cheap linens and no grounds. There are cacti where you walk the dogs! The room is large. No microwave or fridge as promised. When I went to check out, the young woman at the desk was on the phone. She was ordering linens, I suppose for the hotel, but she didn't so much as make eye contact, give a quick "Be right with you" or try to shorten the conversation. She took her time. When she got off the phone and I confronted her for not acknowledging my presence, she gave the sort of apology you get from a surly teenager. I got the same sort of "apology" about my room complaints. She insisted that she could do nothing and gave me the manager's card (she couldn't have called the manager?). This is a dreadful place. on our drive from Colorado to Wisconsin this was a perfect stopping point. Rooms were super clean and comfortable. there were 4 of us and 1 child slept on the floor. I was nervous from the reviews that I saw on here so reluctantly went and checked it out before I checked in. I found the clerk to be friendly, the lobby recently remodeled. The room I have is 100, it was clean and decent bed. I will say it's an older hotel but they have done a good job of remodeling to where it is a good value, and clean hotel. It's half the price of one of the other chain hotels and when your just needing a clean room, comfortable bed and a good breakfast, I don't think you will go wrong. read more

This place was scary. Lots of scary looking men walking around outside at night. After we checked in and drove to the back we saw lots of garbage sitting in the back of the hotel. The room smell musty and clearly had stains on the floor. We did sleep well worried we were going to be robbed or something worst! We only stayed half the night as the man in the room upstairs was up all night and the hotel door didn't locked well. We decided to leave for our own safety. read more

Well coming through Ogallala I stopped for the night here at the Quality Inn. I've been staying at several Quality Inns along this trip and I believe this is my 4th one. Everything was fine the place is clean parking was easy the room had all the fixtures I needed and everything seemed just great. I slept well I did appreciate the little mini refrigerator the TV scene big and flat and work well. The staff did everything they were supposed to do in the towels were fluffy. I see a lot of beefs from 2014 and 2015 and the reviews so I guess this place has been updated since then and seems to work just great. Give it a try it'll be fine and it's right off the interstate easy in easy out and I did like margaritas right down the street for a burrito nice little Mexican place. read more

We stopped here on the first night of our trip to Colorado. That is the only thing I can recommend this hotel for. An emergency overnight stay on a long trip. On a positive note, they do allow dogs. The night clerk was very nice and our bathroom was very well set up for a wheelchair user. However, the rest of the room was unbelievably bad. Bugs on the bathroom floor and bugs on the bed. I don't know if they were Bed Bugs, but there definitely Bugs On The Bed! One Star for the Accessible Bathroom and one for allowing dogs. read more

There is nothing that speaks to "quality" at this Quality Inn. The sign out front says newly renovated -- don't believe it. The positives: nice people work here. They have an outdoor pool. AC works. Free breakfast. The negatives: dirty. The maids never changed our sheets (didn't even make our beds for 4 days). They didn't sweep or vacuum the floors. The place is just dirty. One star because of the friendly staff at the front desk. However, this place is filthy. I have a sore throat from sleeping here and I hope we don't come down with a foot/skin fungus or flesh eating disease. They barely do a surface cleaning. Maybe they come in and change the sheets and swish some cleanser in the tub, sink, and toilet, but that is it!!! They did not use any elbow grease to scrub this place or bend over to wipe any dust off furniture or vacuum corners. This place is DISGUSTING! Only stay here if it is an emergency. read more

This motel was scary..dirty dingy halls, outside room doors and a room that was less than clean..found hairs in the bathroom and just tried not to touch more things than i had to..it actually did have fridge and microwave, ironing board, hair dryer, coffee pot so that was a plus. We passed by and needed to stay in for a night. Booked it online directly. When we got to the front, was told there is an upcharge for downstairs for $6 since there is no elevator. I asked what if I was handicapped, the front desk person said then we would work with you. So we were discriminated because we are not handicapped so we pay more. Also I was told I can park right in front of the room. No! People came from nowhere parked in front. We had to park like 3 or 4 parking spots away! I can see why people don't want to stay there. I thought the Quality Inn in Ogallala was a nice motel. It's not the fanciest I've ever been to but by far it isn't the worst either. The biggest thing I enjoyed here was the continental breakfast buffet!! I mean really, most continental breakfasts are skimpy and stale at best, but here they had potatoes, sausage, eggs, waffles. The room itself was also nice and clean, especially for a germaphobe like me. It annoys my wife when I pull back sheets in motels first thing looking for bugs, but this one was spotless. This location is run by very nice people. The room was clean and stocked with very thing we needed including internet which we had no problem with. The beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. The hotel location was very close to the interstate. The parking lot was well lit with plenty of room for trucks with trailers. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast at the attached Denny's. We paid $76. Place looked like some of previous complaints were taken care of. All in all well deserved 3 stars. read more

Wow. Thats pretty much the only word to describe my experience here. Went up to the lake and was suppose to meet my boyfriends family for dinner and stay overnight ( 3 hour drive plus time at the lake plus dinner equals nap). Well, we first went to check in our room at 2:00 pm . They told us they didn't have it ready yet. Ok fair enough, some people need a late check out and I understand being in the middle of nowhere ( literally) there could be some delays. We went to the lake, messed around took our time. We came back to check in ( Much closer to 5 pm)what do ya know, they have no record of our reservation, they have no rooms available and apparently the blonde lady in the front had a small crisis and started crying because they were overwhelmed. They did produce a room key ( approx 45-50 mins later). We arrive to the room, wow 1 single king bed. Lets do a head count, my boyfriend, his parents, his daughter and myself.. Now call me crazy, but I don't think we reserved a single bed for 5 people. We booked a suitet with an adjacent room, but so much for that idea. There was a couch that we could pull out for a bed. The bed is wrapped in grandma plastic wrap.. can we say comfortable?There was an odor too, not quite old people but it was interesting I went down to the front desk to request more pillows.Apparently, the blonde was sent home and I didn't see her again. The guy at the front desk , polite and all, but he looked at someone else behind the desk like I was speaking chinese. Hmm yes we need more pillows, we're trying to camp out in your 1 bed hotel room with 5 human beings. Hours later , I took a shower and the bathroom's condition was less than stellar. I found nasty hair in the shower (not from our visit) and the shower drain was kinda crusty. Gotta make do with what you got I guess. I needed ice and looked around for the bucket , and when I picked it up I found dead bugs everywhere. Under neath the bucket, on the counter and around the neatly plastic wrapped cups they had. Gross. I passed on the ice , needless to say. I went downstairs to get another beverage of some sort, and when I walked through the stair way I couldn't help but see there was a "suite" with the adjacent room . Hmmmmmm no activity and it appeared to be unoccupied. Gee I wonder, was this the room that was " reserved " for our party? I will never know the truth. I couldn't get to sleep and I was playing around on the internet ( thank god they offered wi-fi ) I moved the curtain aside , and a shit load of dead bugs were covering the window. I opted to leave the curtain as is. I finally got to sleep and when we woke up , we took advantage of the free breakfast buffet they offered us. ( Denny's is located literally feet from the front desk, it shares the building) . Went down to a sorry ass buffet, with plastic silverware styrofoam plates, and plastic cups. Gee don't splurge on your guests stranded in the middle of nowhere hell, seriously we love feeling like we're on a picnic inside a building. We got our food ( and trust me there is no "flow " as it should be expected with most buffets, its a basic free for all , good luck getting napkins, or extra items: butter, syrup etc ) We sat down, were half way through eating THEN someone approached us and asked about coffee or something like that. PLEASE I've worked in the restaurant industry, my manager/boss would be PISSED if I never greeted a guest BEFORE they reached their table ( By the way there is a sign posted when you enter through the hotel entrance that says" Please wait to be seated" If we had done that I'd be collecting social security before we would be "sat") We basically just finished up , left our vouchers and made our escape. NO way we're we about to sit around and MAYBE someone would come to say good bye to us or whatever they would do . So all in all , my experience at this hotel is "wow". I doubt I will return .. I think the hotels literally across the parking lot would be a better choice. Additionally: I think the folks at the front desk were polite, however, not equipped to deal with crowds, organizing or maintaining accurate records. The lady at the front desk couldn't stop telling me how they were rated number one on trip advisor.. hmm well lets be honest: is there REALLY that much competition in western Nebraska??? pro's: it's cheaper than the other places in town the rooms are clean and updated con's: the world's smallest coffee maker. ...one cup of decaf and one cup of regular coffee? but what if I want a second cup of regular coffee in the morning? So that's 1/2 cup for a couple traveling together. WTF? the catwalk to the rooms are rickety at best, they are very uneven! the wi-fi only works in half the rooms, so make sure to let the front desk know when you check in. read more

What a dump! This is a drive-up-to-the-door motel. Our door had to be slammed shut to barely lock. Beds were old and worn out--much too soft. Hot water was not very hot at all. We could not get the room warm enough with the heater on a cold winter's night. Our room was really tiny; you could barely walk around it. The smell of old motel and cleaning chemicals to try to cover the smell of old motel reeked in our room--plus the room was filthy. Wifi was slow and spotty. No pool for the kids. Reminded us of the Bates Motel from the TV series, but worse. Whatever you do, don't stay in this horrid, awful, foul-smelling motel. read more

Heading back to Canada from Utah and we stopped here in the evening(7ish) A younger man was on the phone and asked if we had reservations, we didn't so he kept talking....for another 15 minutes. Finally off the phone and we say we'd like a room with the CAA discount (Canadian Automobile Association) Said he didn't know what that was. I asked if he took AAA..never heard of it he said. He did say he heard of AARP. Needless to say we walked out. Maybe he was the maintenance man, I don't know. So rude though!! We have stayed at many Quality Inns... Just stayed in this hotel last night, I was driving the whole day and half the night so i decided to stop and sleep a little and I'm so happy I did. I honestly wasn't expecting much but this room was so nice. I know this is weird but I slept in leggings and usually there's lint and hair all over my pants in the morning but today when I woke up my pants were so clean! The bathroom was all white and looked super clean. They gave us a free breakfast in the morning that had hot food too. Pretty good and last but not least, they let me have my cat in the room! All in all this hotel was great. The only kinda bad thing was having to walk outside to get to the lobby but it really wasn't that big of a deal. I've never posted a review before, but I signed up just to post this one, since I feel their service deserved it. We stopped here based on other users' comments and we are certainly pleased we did. The staff may not be blood relatives, but they must be a family, since I saw quality all around. The gentleman who received us was extremely pleasant, efficient and helpful. He quickly set us up in a great room at a great price (we had already contacted the other hotels in the area). The room was already toasty warm when we walked in. The bathroom was very clean (the first thing my wife checks). The beds were very comfortable. It was very quiet...never heard any other guests. There was plenty of space in the room, and everything was clean and pleasant. Even the water from the tap was sweet. The complimentary breakfast next door was a nice finishing touch. Unfortunately, our stay at this quality inn was the worst hotel experience my family has ever had. Do not stay here. The room was very, very filthy. One bed had dirt and little black hairs all over the sheets. The carpet near the bathroom was completely soaked! We found out the next day it was probably urine. The towels we used to soak up the mystery liquid turned yellow and smelled like pee! The toilet was absolutely disgusting and dirty. In addition, the people at the front desk were not empathetic or even nice. They told us to take it up with the person who checks us out of the hotel in the morning. My husband and I stayed overnight while road tripping from AZ to WI. I am VERY picky about cleanliness and usually stay in a higher grade hotel. However, for just one night we thought we'd take a chance. The cost was $67 (AAA discount) for one night. The room was small but very clean and updated. We were surprised that this price also included 2 free drink at the sports bar connected to the hotel and 2 free Grand Slam breakfasts w/coffee at Dennys! Very good value! The only negatives are that the front desk was unattentended when we arrived, you can hear traffic from the interstate and I if I were staying alone I would not have cared for the hotel doors opening to the outside instead on inside halls. read more
