Anthony went above and beyond when we desperately needed help. After driving 12 hours from Hudson Hope, Canada, we arrived in the Bellingham area around 11:30 p.m. only to discover a major issue with our reservation at another hotel. After an incredibly frustrating experience and being left to find another room on our own late at night, we were exhausted and honestly didn't know what we were going to do. That's when we called Quality Inn & Suites in Mount Vernon, and Anthony at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. He accommodated us, helped us get a room, and treated us with kindness and understanding when we were already having a very stressful night. After the experience we had just gone through, the difference in hospitality was night and day. Anthony didn't make us feel like a problem--he made us feel like guests. That meant so much to us after such a long and difficult day. We are incredibly grateful for his kindness and willingness to help us so late at night. Quality Inn & Suites is lucky to have someone like Anthony at the front desk. We will absolutely remember this experience and would happily stay here again. read more

Mount Vernon has a historic downtown and a riverfront walkway that is quite charming. However the strip of hotels alongside the I-5 highway epitomize the neglect and decay of the U.S.'s brutalist capitalist economy. This hotel easily ranks among the worst "quick overnight stays" on a road trip I have had the misfortune to make. The property is tacky and visibly degenerating. It feels like an insult to the human spirit itself, graceless, cheap, and rectilinear, more "prison industrial complex" than "hospitality industry". When I checked in, I was given a room on the third floor along the exposed balcony, but it had not yet been turned over (cleaned and swept) for the next guest. I returned to the front desk by way of the single elevator and they gave me an available room which turned out to be a cubby hole tucked in between the entry bay and the main dormitory style construction...a small space which squeezed by as a "room". You could barely fit an adult between the bed and the chest of drawers. However, an electrical outlet was functioning and there was a TV. The lingering smell of perfumed bleach cleaner bodes badly for my endocrine system but is a noticeable effort to refresh rooms between guests. I tried to crack open the sliding window for fresh air but the roar of the just-adjacent highway was akin to an airport runway. The indoor air quality was off putting. Unfortunately the threadbare sheets and acrylic / rayon duvet cover didn't inspire my confidence either and I brought in my own sheet set in and re-made the bed to the best of my ability. The bathroom it must be said was well-cleaned. I cannot fault the management for doing their best to maintain a standard of sanitation and hygiene inside the old and unimaginative box-like construction. Breakfast was what I imagine is the caliber of a detention center in Mississippi, Texas, or Louisiana. Even the bananas and oranges were wilted and had seen better days. read more

My son and I love visiting this hotel when we come to visit friends & family across the border. The rooms are clean, the staff is amazing, the pool & hot tub are great! Walkable and close to stores & restaurants. We spend half our time in the pool. The manager Jesse is so helpful and went above and beyond to make a bad experience we had booking through an online deal site a happier memory. I learned my lesson to only book directly through the hotel from now on. We will be back again soon. Thank you Jesse!! ~Coral & Gabriel read more

We arrived around 9pm and I have to say the parking lot didn't feel very safe because it wasn't well lit. The gentleman at the front desk was kind and provided great customer service. The room was very clean, comfortable and good size. I think if they focused a bit more on the safety of their patrons it would really be a great experience next time. Great job to the cleaning team and the front desk employee! read more

Be careful staying here guys , They charged me my deposit witch was $150 , When I called they stated we left a jar of Weed in the room , The manager hung up on me when I was upset telling him there is something wrong we do not smoke weed , Later once I was able to ask my husband about this he says as we was leaving he looked under the bed for his sandals and found it and pulled it out , we was charged for it guys , Be careful and go through your room if you stay here read more

From beginning to check out, I was happy with the staff, my motels rm, the grounds, the pool, the jacuzzi as well as the delicious free continental breakfast. This place really does deserve more than the two stars they are given, even in the dead of winter the bright cheery atmosphere that exudes from every angle, the rates were super affordable, the prices so low I almost felt guilty, the maids, the clerks were efficient as smiley, no weird vibes , near shopping and restraunts as well as on the busline, it was worth the distance, Id recommend this quality inn to everyone especially anyone wanting to enjoy some nice peace and quiet, rooms up to date, clean with all the amenities to look forward to, loved my stay read more

Excellent service and very comfortable rooms. Marlyn checked us in and she couldn't have been nicer. Breakfast was tasty and well stocked. This is a very comfortable budget motel and our new favorite stay in the Mount Vernon area read more

Nothing special here, but then there is nothing special in the entire town. The beds were pretty comfortable but the breakfast was not very good at all. A nod to the friendliness of the front desk staff. read more

I arrived at my room and found that it hadn't been cleaned. I was moved to another room, which was okay, but the floor was dirty and hadn't been mopped. If it wasn't so late when I was traveling, I wouldn't have chosen this place. It seems to me that the housekeeping isn't very good, as confirmed by the front desk staff. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. This was the absolute worst hotel experience my husband and I have ever had. There were scratches and dents and damage from what looks like probably dogs all over the room. Holes in the wall. There was dog hair on the sheets. The room had not been cleaned properly. There was only one bath towel for us all to use. The rim smell terrible even though it was supposed to be a smoke-free room and a pet room. The window was open. We had entered the room so they were trying to air it out. We had booked two nights to say but after being in the room for about an hour, we decided we would go ahead and stay that first night because we were too tired to pack up ourselves and our kids to go and find another hotel late at night. When we went to go talk to the front desk And tell them that we would stay the first night and pay for the first night, but would like a refund for the second night that we were not planning on staying, the man later told us that the manager refused to give us a refund for the second night. Even though we were going to check out the next morning. My husband was livid and we just decided to go ahead and check out that first night and leave to another hotel. Honestly, everything was disgusting and I would never recommend anyone staying in this place. read more

First of all when we walked it .. it STANK. the odor never went away (we stayed for 4 days) it was HORRIBLE. Second i wanted to wash my hands and then the water DIDNT DRAIN, took god damn too long. I walked into the bathroom and I couldn't turn around comfortably, I thought my own bathroom was small but this one was EXCEPTIONALLY TINY. I needed to take a shower and there were these weird dots on the shower floor, very suspicious because they were black with yellow surroundings, thought I was going to vomit (CROCS NEEDED). the shower knob was super complex to figure out the hot water so i gave up and bathed in COLD water. anyway, went to bed (bed was okay considering the rest of the room) but got FUCKING woken up by the CAT MACHINERY RENTAL that kept going on and on LOUD BANGING (was not notified of this). anyway, we wanted to turn on the tv and we see there is netflix and prime video and the remote did NOT scroll and we could not get it to work. we called for help through the phone, asked for help with the TV and the sink and the guy said he will "send help." the NEIGHBORS KNOCKED ON OUR DOOR and said "i think i was supposed to give this to you for the sink?", WE WERE SHOCKED, the guy didn't even COME HIMSELF he made our neighbors that we don't know come and hand us a TOILET PLUNGER FOR THE SINK? ridiculous. and he never came for the TV EITHER. also some extra fucked up shit: no light bulb located in one of the lamps, random stain on the floor we had to clean OURSELVES, the doors don't close properly, there is rust on the shower rods, brown blob dripped down once from the sink (think it was rust, but maybe shit?), and lastly if you are looking to sleep somewhere i would suggest you to sleep on the beach somewhere in this beautiful state of Washington because anywhere is better than this. (pros: all their money went to the ac unit.. it was ok) read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! Zero stars!!! Room reeked of cigarettes and weed even though it's a smoke free location. Had an adjoined room and could hear the neighbors conversation like they were in our room. Felt very unsafe and decided to leave. They offered other rooms that didn't stink but overall felt unsafe and left. They wouldn't refund us and the manager Michelle lied to Expedia and said we stayed there for an hour in another room. They refuse to give me my money back. Save your money and stay literally anywhere else! read more

Very nice front staff, Ruben greeted me with a big smile at the front desk but the quality of the Quality Inn here is shakey. Earwigs & flies dive bombing me in the bathroom. Cigarette holes in the bed cover, phone message light kept blinking & everytime I called there was heavy breathing on the other end. TV cable kept cutting in & out. I felt I had to sanitize all 'fomites' (medical term for anything you touch that could transmit a disease like...door handles, microwave door, TV changer etc) Breakfast was marginal but hey on a Friday night with most hotels starting at $200+....it was $149 & I got some points added on my Choice Hotels Rewards program. Speaking of the Rewards Program....it sucks, am still waiting for my $50 gift/ promo rebate for staying 2 nights in a row. It's going on 2+ months, & finally you get an Email saying 'Congrats! YOU HAVE $50!', but you can't use it yet...its a plastic card... coming in the snailmail. Still waiting for that....Terrible! And TRY using your supposed points....its an effort in futility talking to a girl working from her house where you hear gifts & chickens squawking in the background & she barely speaks English. I was told Choice Hotels are franchised so each hotel is separately owned which complicates the Reward system. WHATEVER. That girl...Zoey? the girl 'fairy with the wand' that advertises for Choice on TV should be ashamed. End of Rant. read more

We wanted a place to stay for a quick tulip visit. We loved the staff they were so sweet and accommodating...but...the hotel is old, the beds are hard and lumpy and you can clearly hear the freeway and trains all night long. We wanted to be near the pool, it might be quieter in back. The pool was warm; the hot tub was nice and hot, although there was sand the bottom of it? There are ashtrays mounted to the walls as you enter the elevator, which smelled and an odd assortment of random furniture stashed in the halls. Breakfast was fine; a good selection of food. Arby's was right across the way within walking distance so that was nice. Even with the sweet staff I don't think we'd choose this one again. read more

Wow this hotel totally ruins the name for the brand quality inn. The carpet in the room was so disgusting. Stained and almost black when it's suppose to be green!!! You can see the black water stain on practically the whole room!!!The room is very small. At least there is clean sheets. The breakfast bar is not too bad. But biscuits tasted like bread. The boiled eggs are super cold. There is waffles. Some cereal and cinnamon buns. Food is mostly prepared already so there's minimal cooking involved. The coffee taste like water. I would never stay here again. I stayed at other quality inns before and all of them were very nice and clean and true to the brand. This hotel is a disgrace to quality inn brand!!!! read more

Have stayed here twice. It is one of the few (if not only) places in the area with an indoor pool (essential for a stay in western WA). They have a good little pool/hot tub area, decent rooms with lotsa lights. Breakfast in the morning isn't the usual continental kind. Biscuits & gravy, a cool waffle iron to make waffles on, etc. Not spectacular, but not just cereal & muffins, either. Drawbacks-1st coffee carafe ran out, no replacement for a while (!!), and there were at least 2 times when no one was at the front desk for a good while. Other than that, a great place. And "dog friendly," too! read more

Quality Inn - Hotels Near Me - Mt. Vernon, Washington

When you roll into a motel lot at 1am, your expectations change a little. You don't care about the fitness room or the TV channel selection. You DO care about the bed. The night clerk was pleasant and helpful, and the property and room are clean. But it was stuffy and warm when we entered. Beds are very comfy, but the only blanket options are single sheet or add the comforter which is appropriate for an Alaskan winter. The bathroom is pretty cramped, but clean and functional. All in all not too bad on its own, but kind of disappointing for $130 a night. It's not like we are in Seattle. read more

Don't be fooled by the name, this inn is anything BUT quality. If you advertise a pool you think it would work and not be empty filled with dingy mattresses. The complimentary wifi doesn't even work, the room didn't come with even a simple DVD player. Oh but you got some cable with maybe three channels that work. We got a suite the size of a normal twin room but it's got an oven doesn't it. read more

They couldn't have been nicer. I was in town for a surgical procedure that required daily check-ups at the surgeon's, and they made sure I had a quiet room, and I wasn't disturbed. I don't know about you, but I don't want any more than that from a room. read more

Awful. Please read the true story of our crummy treatment by this hotel. Our reservation was for a non-smoking room as confirmed by our reservation number. When we checked in we were directed to Room 316. We were not told that it was a smoking room. Shortly after checking in I went down to address the clerk on duty about the smoke aroma in our room. The clerk on duty was Karen. I told Karen that I thought that our room smelled of smoke. She checked the records on her computer and assured me that Room 316 was not a smoking room. But, she offered that if we left the room for 20 minutes that she would have it de-ionized. She said that she had recently de-ionized another room and the customers were then happy after she had done so. I went back to the room and told my wife what Karen had said. My wife told me that she was sure it was a smoking room, otherwise why were there ash trays in the room. I went back down and told Karen that we definitely think that Room 316 is a smoking room because of the smell AND the ash trays. Karen assured me that it wasn't a smoking room, but said there had been this new clerk at Quality Inn who handed out ash trays to customers that wanted some and that's probably why the ash trays are in the room. She said that this new clerk had been told to not do that anymore. I took her at her word. I told Karen that we would be leaving our room shortly and that she could enter the room to de-ionize. When we returned the room still smelled of smoke though the de-ionizing machine was plugged in and the ash trays had been removed. I took the de-ionizing machine back down to the office and gave it back to Karen. She asked me if the de-ionizer had helped. I told, "no, not really" and left. On Sunday morning I approached the hotel manager, Eugene and told him of our troubles with our room that we thought was a smoking room. Eugene instantly told me that Room 316 was a smoking room. I went back up to our room and produced our reservation which I showed to him that promised us a non-smoking room. Eugene proceeded to check our confirmation records and told us that a mistake had been made and that we had been put into a smoking room. I then proceeded to tell Eugene the essence of my experience with Karen, which is laid out above. Eugene told me that there would be a credit to our credit card bill and that an e-mail would be sent Monday, August 17 confirming this. No e-mail or credit was ever received Since we got back home we have spent literally hours trying to get the "cigarette smoke smell" out of our clothes and luggage. We have had to wash all of our clothes and luggage. Even our toiletry bags smell of smoke, as do all the toiletries kept within. We travels with a special orthopaedic memory foam pillow for a bad neck. The foam portion of that pillow is now poisoned with cigarette smoke, which we have as yet been unable to remove despite having tried several remedies. 5 days later and this $100 pillow still reeks of cigarette smoke. The day after our stay we wrote a detailed e-mail to the hotel manager, Eugene and followed that up with a print out of the e-mail which we faxed to the hotel manager. There has been no response whatsoever to our request for action. We have contacted the Quality Inn corporate office, but no one there has responded either. This is the type of treatment which we received at the hands of Quality Inn. We paid $143 for one night of this kind of treatment. I have never written a negative review like this and usually try to shrug off bad experiences. We're not picky, but feel that hotel staff should tell us the truth and treat us honestly. You judge the facts for yourself and then make your own decision about this hotel. read more

We stayed in one of the 2-story rooms and its was freezing the whole night because the heater upstairs never worked. Called to ask about it and they couldn't fix it. I tried to warm up by filling up the tub and got less than an inch of warm water before freezing cold water started coming out. I was told we'd get a discount for the inconvenience after calling about the problems. And then the lady checking us out in the morning argued that we could've changed rooms and would not be getting a discount. WORST MOTEL EVER. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. I'll give this place a 3 for in its type. The staff was very friendly The room was clean though a little musty smelling upon arrival but I've been in worse for the price. We checked in a little late but the front desk staff was friendly, helpful & efficient. My husband is a light sleeper so we always request a top floor. They said that they were very full but to accommodate our request they upgraded our room to a suite at no extra charge. It was a maintenance nightmare: -The toilet in 1 of the 2 bathrooms didn't flush -the sink in the kitchen drained slowly -entry door latch didn't work unless you messed with the inside door knobknob. -deadbolt didn't work at all -at 3am, we discovered that the AC in the bedroom didn't work -window in the bedroom extremely hard to open (at 3am too) -the shower rod in the upstairs bath was barely attached causing the curtain to slide to the center -the mini-fridge froze our food & had no apparent adjuster dial If you decide to stay here, be sure to check the room over before it gets too late to do anything about it. read more

The pro... um the bedding was clean and there was plenty of pillows... and the bath towels were big and not scratchy. I have stayed at a plethora of hotels in the last 10 years... many times with several Quality Inn stays. This stay was in my top 5 of bad hotels. First impression starting in the lobby.. Rude personel... not necessarily to me but to my daughter. .. whom is 3 and has been in the carseat all afternoon.. of course she is wound up, SNAPPING AT HER... big NO NO. Then our room... you walk in and were slapped with the foul odor of stale cigarettes and mold. Then parking... just not enough for a 3 story hotel. The bathroom was the source of the mold smell and left me desiring a new shower. The smell of mold Is still haunting me, its been about 2 hours dince we left. I've stayed at nicer hotel 6. The supposed breakfast was not stocked... leaving us hungry and unimpressed. If you want a place to sleep and that is all. .. by all means knock yourself out I paid $117... er wasted .. oh and the trains all night long... whatever, not worth half what we paid. Our stay was 8/4/16 read more

If you are a US Veteran or maybe a Person of Color and see a carcasion male, wears glasses, look like he in mid 50's with with white hair named John working at the front desk don't bother staying there. Threaten to call the police on me saying I don't want you on this property after giving me back my credentials. I ask him why he would not sell me the room and he pick up the phone threatening to call police. So I left, he felt so threatened he even followed me to my car to write down the plate number. This was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. We were trying to decide between this place and another nearby hotel and called to confirm the pool would be open and operational only to find it was freezing when we went down to swim. We reported this to the guy at the front desk who offered us a whopping (not) $10 off our room. Half an hour later, he knocks on the door with a thermometer in hand saying they had taken the temperature in the pool and it was actually "2 degrees warmer than it should be" and informed us we would not be getting the $10 off after all. Nice customer service. We originally booked a King room, but were told upon check-in there was a problem with that room and were given a room with a Queen instead. The room reeked of old cigarette smoke, including the mattress which I noticed when I woke up in the middle of the night face down. Gross. Then, to top off the gross-out, we noticed several stains on the bed skirt which looked like dried blood. We mentioned this to the guy at the front desk on checkout and all he had to say was, "Oh, sorry about that." He said the exact same thing when we told him, all in all, it was a horrible stay for us. They obviously don't give a damn about their guests' satisfaction. We will definitely NOT be staying here ever again. read more

We pre ordered a suite room. But when we went to the office we were told to go to a non-suite. But were charged the same as a suite. We were told this is because we were locals and for some reason locals can't reserve suite rooms. Which is bogus. I had made a reservation at The Days Inn in Mt.Vernon for a friends wedding back in February. When looking on like the pictures of the hotel looked decent a little out dated but didn't look too old or scary. I walked in to the Days Inn and it had a strong smell of Lysol or Pinesol (some cleaning product), while I appreciate knowing the hotel is clean the smell is way too strong. I checked in and went to the room and the smell was even more powerful. It was very outdated (which wasn't a problem) but it look pretty rough. It had a lot of marks on the wall, the shower didn't look like it had been cleaned, part of the base boards where missing. Just over all extremely run down compared to what the pictures looked like on line. I went to the front desk to talk to the clerk about the smell and asked if I can get a different room due to the over powering smell. She was nice enough to give me a different room but it too was extremely strong in the cleaning product smell. I went back to the clerk letting her know that I can't stay here due to getting a headache. My son was with me and he got a bloody nose and was complaining about a headache as well he's 11. I asked to to cancel my reservation due to the smell of the hotel causing headaches. She told me she will charge me for the night even tho I wouldn't be staying. I had just checked in so it wasn't even 10 mins inside the hotel. I told her it's not my fault to cancel my reservation last minute due to the hotel strong smell. I asked to speak to a manager and she said she is the only one there. She said she can call the manager to see if she can get a hold of her but the manager doesn't always answer her calls, the manager didn't answer. I cut my loss on the money ( which is extremely frustrating) and called Quality Inn. They had a room open, the price is decent and the room is so much nicer. The staff is super friendly and I was very surprised with the breakfast they provided (waffles, cereal, biscuits and gravy, eggs, fruit, bagels, coffee, toast and juice. It was really nicely in order stocked and looked fresh. I'm appreciative to be able to find a clean, friendly staff with reasonable pricing last minute. I would come back and stay. read more
