So, I like Quality in when I'm doing short trips, especially booking through #expedia - I've never had any issues...for me and my family we only need it to sleep and shower. Usually the rooms are nice and clean, especially the ones that have been renovated (like in Tampa, Augusta, etc), this particular one wasn't bad, and I'm going to start off with the positives first before mentioning the two issues I had with my room.
So we didn't check in until almost 11pm and the night staff was SOOOO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL! I'm 37 weeks pregnant and we just drove 3hrs in the rain (lol). She gave us a room on the first floor so that I didn't have to walk up and down stairs several times. Which was nice, since we had to carry our sleeping toddler into the bed, the first floor helped out a bunch. The bed was super comfortable and so were the pillows, so snuggly and a great luxury quality.
We were so tired that night we went straight to bed, but not before we turned on the AC unit. I will say, and this is my first issue, this was the most difficult AC unit to turn on, and it is utterly obnoxious. When you're trying to sleep, it'll be on and then cut off, you're sleeping and get used to it being off and just as you get settled it will kick back on and ramble; makes it more difficult to get comfortable and a nice slumber. My second, and probably the biggest issue I have, is posted in the pictures below. Our shower had mold in it!!! And not just a little bit either. Like I said, I'm 37 weeks pregnant, and we have a toddler who has a heart issue which causes her immune system to be a little more sensitive (it's not a catastrophic thing but when you travel you expect a clean, mold free restroom). It made me uneasy showering, let alone having my toddler shower in there and afterwards I noticed I started to get a terrible headache- so we didn't even finish showering. When I told the manager on duty about the mold, he offered a new room, upstairs, I told him we are checking out early the next morning so why are we going to pack up, move rooms, just for 6hours? I asked if we could just have the cleaning crew come in and clean and he said they didn't have any on duty. Definitely not what I expected in my room, especially during a pandemic. It shows that the lack of cleaning isn't a top priority. FINALLY, when we got back home I decided to call the GM and ask for a refund on the room, because of the reasons listed above, and he declined the offer for that- which is outrageous seeing as how much mold there was and both me and my daughter are high risk, it shows he doesn't really care. read more
