The hotel features an outdoor pool which is covered by a pool cover and there is more than adequate signage concerning safety issues for those who use it.gues For business travelers: there is a small office center on the first floor that has a PC and an inkjet printer. I do not think that Microsoft Word nor Excel (or any other software packages) are loaded onto the hotel's PC for guests in the office center so a laptop with those software packages would be needed here. I did not see a fax machine and am presuming that they would be sent and received by the employees at the front desk. Concerning receipt of FedEx packages, I would contact the hotel directly to confirm that this can be done. Lastly, concerning meeting rooms, I would contact the hotel directly to confirm whether they can - or cannot - do this. This is a two-story hotel with no elevator. If one needs to avoid stairs ask for a room on the first floor. Accessible rooms are also available for booking on the Best Western's webpage. Parking is outside close to the hotel property. Very good hot breakfast typical of what was served pre-COVID including healthy choices like fruit. Advice to those approaching the hotel from Danville's downtown: as soon as you approach the bridge the Best Western Riverside Inn comes up very quickly and it's on your right just outside of a wooded area. There is a casino down the road that houses a couple of restaurants and using the Yelp app there are a few within 5 miles. This hotel was clean and quiet and our room, for a standard king was spacious, as was the bathroom with a walk in shower. Both desk staff and breakfast attendant were friendly. The breakfast area was open about 15 minutes prior to 6 am and allowed us to grab and go for the road. Hard boiled eggs and some fruit were appreciated. There were sweets available also for a grab and go. The only thing we did not appreciate at the time was the high price, especially with the pool closed until 2027. $169.51. And they were not very busy this particular date according to the vehicles in the parking lot.

The hotel itself just feels kind of old and needs some upkeeping for sure. The rooms themselves are okay, spacious, with a mini fridge, microwave and air conditioning. The furniture is not in great shape in any of the rooms I've stayed in, with the couches feeling old and worn out and the wooden structures starting to wear out so you can see the interior wood. The beds are at least comfortable and clean. On my last visit, I had a problem with the hot water in my room. The staff were nice enough to move me, but I was surprised when I couldn't take a shower in the morning before some meetings. Additionally, the internet here is pretty poor, it is tough to get things done with the WiFi on site. The gym is pretty well equipped, but I think some people stole some of the dumbells because there are a bunch that are missing. The pool seems to be closed for the rest of the year. Kind of a bummer! I would suggest staying here only if you need to. If you can forge on towards Champaign for an extra hour, I really think it is worth it. However, it is currently a total disaster. The hotel hallways smell of smoke, and the bathroom sink in our room had cigarette burns from when people used to rest their cigarettes on the ledge. Our room was dusty with paint drippings and swipes everywhere, no smoke detector, stained shower curtain, sheets and pillowcases, a ridiculous bed comforter, no hand soap in the bathroom and a toilet seat that didn't want to stay up. While they offer a complimentary breakfast, it's a bit of a joke. Very little offered and put out last minute. Everything on a whole was outdated and dirty, including the elevators which were totally sketchy. We parked in the back lot, and while we found the entrance into the building, finding our way into the hotel itself was challenging, because there was no signage. It turned out the double wood doors that looked like entry into a storage closet was our way in, and those too looked in desperate need of replacing. If for some reason you find yourself desperate enough to stay here for nothing more than a quick rest, do yourself a favor and bring your own pillow and blanket and plan to eat breakfast elsewhere.
