3 Queen Beds room (only two units on property)
Richard R.

I've actually stayed at some GRRRRREAT Quality Inn & Suites locations around the country. THIS ISN'T ONE OF THEM!!! To put it plainly, this is one of those sorts of hotel/motels where it is easy to see the owners put as little money as possible into its appearance/upkeep, although the common areas are a tad better than the rooms. I could go on and on about several things that caught my stank-eye, but none more then the musty, stinky, smoky odor that permeated every orifice of this hotel. They allow smoking on two of their three floors, but don't seem to realize smoke (and the smell it creates) doesn't know what room it is supposed to stay in!!! FINE if you want to have rooms for smokers, but why not make it the top floor only and upgrade your ventilation systems. My father-in-law could barely sleep due to the smell. Even people like me who are VERY forgiving of budget hotels have a tipping point. For me, it is bad odors and/or poor housekeeping. Also, the hotel is extremely dated and could use some serious refreshing. The microwave (for example) looked like the first generation of microwaves ever built. Same with the in-room mini-frig. The only reason we stayed was because they had a room with THREE queen beds for a great price. We got a late start driving back home to Atlanta from Chicago and felt the need to stop overnight. Lots of hotel choices on this exit, but the three queen beds room sold us. I wish it hadn't. I wanted to stay at the nearby TRU hotel or Holiday Inn Express, but I was overruled. SIDE NOTE: While the gentleman tending the breakfast area was doing a great job, the hot breakfast items were unappealing, so we skipped it. SIDE NOTE 2: The breakfast area was the nicest looking area of the building. SIDE NOTE 3: They have an indoor pool which used to matter a lot to us when our children were younger. Helped to tire them out before bed! SIDE NOTE 4: The chlorine smell was super strong. FINAL THOUGHTS Listen, my wife's 77-year-old father financed this little road trip to Chicago, and believe me when I tell you he is one of the most practical, thrifty & frugal humans on the planet. He has low expectations when it comes to conveniences and quality because low price is his driving factor. But I ain't mad at him because he truly knows how to stretch a dollar and never ever pays finance charges or fees of any kind if he can help it. He even walks parking lots at every gas stop looking for loose change on the ground and to date has found more than $150 per year since he started keeping track of it back in the 70's. Yet even he, as we drove off from this hotel after one nights stay said: "I hope you give them a bad review, they sucked." Amen pops, amen! 2019/89

Again sprayed and not wiped

On the way to Savannah, it was a nice choice for a hotel south of Louisville. Would definitely go back if in the area.

In the room, instead of drawers, there are many hooks on the wall. I like the decor. The only hindrance is the bed frame that juts out about an inch wider than the mattress. We kept hitting our shins on the corners. The breakfast was good. They have real oatmeal which is always a plus in my book. They also had a pancake machine, breads, cereal, juice, fruit, and yogurt.

I only stayed one night which is not nearly long enough to enjoy this beautiful hotel. Imagine a…read moregiant game night. There were giant connect four, jenga and air hockey next to the cutest seating. My room did not disappoint either, it reminded me of my cabin on a Disney cruise- very colorful and cute. Now I am not a fan of the soaps that are in hotels these days, so I bring my own. But they had a lemon soap and I could not resist. The lemon hand soap was so moisturizing and fragrant that I had to try the lemon body wash and I was equally impressed. The next morning at breakfast I made myself some pancakes at the pancake bar and made myself some coffee. All in all, I loved it here and can't wait to go to another one with family or friends so we can play giant connect four and jenga.

I understand this isn't a five‑star hotel, but there are basic issues that could be fixed with…read moreminimal cost. For example: reattaching the baseboard, spraying for ants (I've already killed about five - some in the bed), fixing the broken bathroom door handle, replacing the stained toilet seat, and addressing the musty, smoky odor and smelly carpet with flooring that can actually be cleaned. You can also hear every step from the guest above you -- at least in our room. When I first contacted the manager at Best Western Louisville, he offered a refund. I later learned I had reached the wrong property -- that hotel is about three miles from Best Western Louisville South, where my reservation actually was. Once I reached the correct location, the experience changed. I spoke with Carrie Peterson, who identified herself as the General Manager of Best Western Louisville South. She acknowledged the hotel has an ongoing ant problem but refused to issue a refund. Instead, she suggested I sign up for reward points to stay at "another Best Western," which I explained I would never do. Her approach was unprofessional, dismissive, and lacked accountability. She attempted to position herself as the victim and ended the call when she couldn't manage the situation. This was unacceptable given the money I spent and the conditions I encountered. If tournaments hadn't filled every hotel this specific weekend, I would have left immediately and paid to stay elsewhere. I will never return to this hotel -- or any Best Western.

Breakfast was a joke, all 4 mornings I stopped to look and left empty handed an hungry. Elevator was actively being painted when I got in it after check-in. Walls were wet for the rest of the day and no sign was posted to warn people but the paint fumes were a good indicator. Probably would have been better to paint it over night. Room was 'good enough'. A/C worked great. Mini fridge and microwave was nice as was the coffee maker. Bathtub was super small, short and shallow. Overall it serves its purpose, and was priced right for what was offered. Free parking was nice. Won't stay again if I get a choice though.

The rooms are cheap and clean, complete with 2 beds, a bathroom, a desk, a fridge, a TV, and more. The room doesn't come with a channel guide, which isn't very easy since I'm not used to the channels here. The pool is very fun, but also cold. They used to have a very wonderful hot tub, but they removed it for some reason. The wifi is free and fast. The only problem is that it is sometimes hard to connect. If you don't have a computer to bring, they have one in the lobby you can use for free! Overall a very nice place to bring your family- and pets!

Room was disgusting and I was told to clean it myself if not good enough. There was hair and an old bar of soap in the bathroom, air didn't work for 3 hours before it finally cooled off, hair and an old crusty rag were left in the bathroom. I hadn't personally had to deal with the employee until late that night, I had woken up from a bad nosebleed from the stuffiness of the room and went and asked the desk for a clean towel and another sheet and pillow case only to be questioned about how long I had been there, how many days I were stsying and if my deposit had been paid. The lady was the most rude lady I had ever met. Then next night my kids had came AFTER STILL PAYING FOR ANOTHER NIGHT ( this was our fault entirely) they were not alowed to swim bc they weren't PAID for; but when trying to add them to the room we were told it was impossible. Mind you we had a very large room with the Jacuzzi because it was apparently the only one left, it had a pullout couch there was room but then proceeded to tell me that they couldn't swim, shower or stay in the room while we're there ... The wo.an wouldn't give me towels, a sheet or pillow case or even another wash rag because she stated they were " conserving water" ? I have never in my life seen a place like this stay open as long as it has. We had pool parties here when I was younger, alot of people did. The woman was bat crap mad when we checked out and she had to give us our cash deposited back like she thought we were going to leave a room destroyed or trashed or something. ( We always put everything in one spot to make it easier for cleanup, we did their job the entire time here). Also, why in the world would you out a window and blind over the pool area??? It made me uneasy because how many pedos have sat at the desk hidden with the blinds open watching little kids swim?? Bottom line, salvation army would be better and cleaner than thos place was.

The windows and carpet need replacing but overall it was clean and very comfortable. 2 Queen room was large, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good! Staff was super friendly when we reported a plumbing issue with toilet. They got maintenance up there immediately. Housekeeping is full service every other day. The only thing I would suggest that they put extra blankets in the closet during winter. Not everyone can agree on the HVAC room temp LOL. OH and checke the shower curtains.
