The bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were quite clean. There was a small kitchen (which we did not use but which would have been helpful had we wanted to heat up a prepared meal.) The internet was strong. We could not hear folks in the hallway from the room. We liked the fact that breakfast was served until 10 AM. Many business hotels quit serving at 8:30 or 9 am, which may be fine for businessmen but is not fine for tourists. We appreciated being able to sleep later. The breakfast, while it had a lot of prepared foods, was better than that of many hotels. The oatmeal, for example, had many toppings, had you wished them. There was lots of bacon and boiled eggs, as well a what I now consider to be the "usual" hotel waffle station. I would say that this hotel is, overall, better than some other Hilton Brands.

We kept hitting our shins on the corners. The breakfast was good. They have real oatmeal which is always a plus in my book. They also had a pancake machine, breads, cereal, juice, fruit, and yogurt.

Now I am not a fan of the soaps that are in hotels these days, so I bring my own. But they had a lemon soap and I could not resist. The lemon hand soap was so moisturizing and fragrant that I had to try the lemon body wash and I was equally impressed. The next morning at breakfast I made myself some pancakes at the pancake bar and made myself some coffee. All in all, I loved it here and can't wait to go to another one with family or friends so we can play giant connect four and jenga.

But otherwise a nice experience after a long day driving. The breakfast was adequate with the special bonus of having real oatmeal. That is worthy of a star all on its own.

In general, the hotel accommodations were ok. The customer service I received from the front desk…read moremanager, however, has resulted in my never staying at this location again. In fact, I have also decided to move my average 213 night in a hotel to mostly Marriotts, due to that fact that Holiday Inn couldn't override the short sighted decision this location manager was making. In early September, I reserved several rooms for myself and a few guests. Due to travel delays, one of my guests could t make it. When I attempted to cancel that 1 night stay, the front desk manager refused. She was so short sighted that she missed the opportunity to make me happy and then sell that room to another guest, when the entire city was sold out of all hotel rooms! Instead, since I was being charged anyway, I checked into the room, laid in the bed and watched TV, then went to my other room and slept. I left this location pissed and never to return. The owner of this location should consider the long term affects of their short term decisions.

For example: reattaching the baseboard, spraying for ants (I've already killed about five - some in the bed), fixing the broken bathroom door handle, replacing the stained toilet seat, and addressing the musty, smoky odor and smelly carpet with flooring that can actually be cleaned. You can also hear every step from the guest above you -- at least in our room. When I first contacted the manager at Best Western Louisville, he offered a refund. I later learned I had reached the wrong property -- that hotel is about three miles from Best Western Louisville South, where my reservation actually was. Once I reached the correct location, the experience changed. I spoke with Carrie Peterson, who identified herself as the General Manager of Best Western Louisville South. She acknowledged the hotel has an ongoing ant problem but refused to issue a refund. Instead, she suggested I sign up for reward points to stay at "another Best Western," which I explained I would never do. Her approach was unprofessional, dismissive, and lacked accountability. She attempted to position herself as the victim and ended the call when she couldn't manage the situation. This was unacceptable given the money I spent and the conditions I encountered. If tournaments hadn't filled every hotel this specific weekend, I would have left immediately and paid to stay elsewhere. I will never return to this hotel -- or any Best Western.

Room was disgusting and I was told to clean it myself if not good enough. There was hair and an old bar of soap in the bathroom, air didn't work for 3 hours before it finally cooled off, hair and an old crusty rag were left in the bathroom. I hadn't personally had to deal with the employee until late that night, I had woken up from a bad nosebleed from the stuffiness of the room and went and asked the desk for a clean towel and another sheet and pillow case only to be questioned about how long I had been there, how many days I were stsying and if my deposit had been paid. The lady was the most rude lady I had ever met. Then next night my kids had came AFTER STILL PAYING FOR ANOTHER NIGHT ( this was our fault entirely) they were not alowed to swim bc they weren't PAID for; but when trying to add them to the room we were told it was impossible. Mind you we had a very large room with the Jacuzzi because it was apparently the only one left, it had a pullout couch there was room but then proceeded to tell me that they couldn't swim, shower or stay in the room while we're there ... The wo.an wouldn't give me towels, a sheet or pillow case or even another wash rag because she stated they were " conserving water" ? I have never in my life seen a place like this stay open as long as it has. We had pool parties here when I was younger, alot of people did. The woman was bat crap mad when we checked out and she had to give us our cash deposited back like she thought we were going to leave a room destroyed or trashed or something. ( We always put everything in one spot to make it easier for cleanup, we did their job the entire time here). Also, why in the world would you out a window and blind over the pool area??? It made me uneasy because how many pedos have sat at the desk hidden with the blinds open watching little kids swim?? Bottom line, salvation army would be better and cleaner than thos place was.

I specifically chose Baymont by Wyndham because, in past experiences, the brand has typically offered affordable accommodations with reasonably decent room quality. Sadly, my good-faith decision to patronize your property was met with obvious neglect and poor quality control. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. It has also caused me to seriously reconsider whether I would choose Baymont by Wyndham again in the future. I would appreciate a response regarding how Wyndham intends to address these unacceptable conditions and the failure of staff responsiveness during my stay.
