For breakfast, there is one employee getting the food for you like a concession stand, so it minimizes risk of getting COVID. However, there were a couple things that just lowered my Yelp rating. I noticed that one bedside lamp was not working. It was because there was no lightbulb in there. Additionally, the shower curtain was missing. Thankfully, guest services was quick to bring one up. There are a couple of ladybugs around the room, but they did have a warning flyer in the elevator. Overall, nice stay!

Good Night Sleep!…read more While away on business in Rome for a couple of days, we stayed here at the Holiday Inn Express and it was our home away from home. Complimentary breakfast includes cinnamon rolls, pancakes, bacon eggs, yogurt etc..... Fresh towels and beds made daily. Great staff, very nice, even the other guests were cool. My only concern was the pool..... A couple co workers and I wanted to take a dip and was unable to do so. I'm hopeful it will be up and ready on our next visit.

Lobby includes comfortable seating areas, business center and work desks with charge ports and breakfast dining areas. Coffee/tea/cocoa were always available. This area was kept very clean throughout of stay. Luggage carts are stored behind a wall near the business center. Public restrooms, water fountain, gym and a very clean guest laundry are down the hallway near the business center. Hotel market includes soft drinks, snacks and some OTC items. Our check-in, after dinner hours, was very brisk. Reception staff were all business, no smiles or small talk while getting our information. Once we had fulfilled all our duties (ID, credit card, car type and color, sign form) we got one key (for 2 ppl) w/a smile and told the breakfast hours. Check out was much the same. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and the breakfast attendant gave us a cheery "Good morning" each day. The elevator is clean and works well but not up to date on it's inspection. Each floor has a huge floor number on the wall across from the elevator so you quickly know if you are on the correct floor. Signs near the elevators point the way. Our room was close to the elevator but we were not bothered by any noise. Ice machine is around the corner from the elevator. The King room is spacious, as is the bathroom. A vestibule acts as a transition from bedroom and bathroom. Here you'll find a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, ice bucket, mirror and a small shelf. The bathroom includes a large shower stall with a small ledge for personal care items and another for your foot. Provided body wash, shampoo and conditioner are multi-use mounted to the wall. Shower head has three positions and is the water saving type. Plenty of hot water right away. Vanity counter space was abundant and a towel bar for hand towels is just below the sink. Multi-use hand soap and body lotion bottles are mounted to the wall by the light switch. A bathroom vent/fan is available on a separate switch and a blue nightlight automatically illuminates in the dark. A towel rack for bath towels is appreciated and one towel hook we used for a toiletries bag. The hair dryer is in a bag hanging from that hook behind the door. Towels were soft and absorbent. The bed is very soft and good quality with four king sized pillow and soft linen. I prefer a firm mattress and put a feather pillow under my back to add support which worked well for me. A large TV , closet with safe, suitcase area and desk take up one wall. Heat/AC control is on a wall. It was quick to respond and wasn't overly noisy. A chaise lounge and side table round out the room. A 'sun shade' and room darkening shade cover the window. These are retracted via chains mounted on one side. Breakfast was very good quality. Large coffee cups (w/o that waxy coating) and a nice brew. Coffee creamers, many teas, honey and cocoa available here as well. We used milk from the refrigerator for our morning coffees. You will also find butter, cream cheese, hard boiled eggs and yogurt in the fridge. Hot foods included scrambled eggs or cheese omelets, sausage, including turkey sausage, biscuits and gravy, daily. Bagels, muffins and breads area with toaster, a selection of cold cereals, juices and a pancake maker were available daily. Condiments like hot sauce or jelly were by the breads. Each area is nicely spaced. Plenty of seating options with two TV shows running: news or HGTV. The breakfast and coffee were very good. The entire facility is clean, including the public restroom. Lots of parking plus public EV chargers. Within walking distance of the outlet mall where there is plenty of shopping and a few restaurants. Five minute drive to Downtown Woodstock. If we find ourselves in the area again we would stay here.

This is a difficult review. I had wanted to try out this hotel for a while. However, the hotel is…read morecurrently undergoing renovations (through end of October, 2026). I will review my experience but offer caveats for future visits. The location seemed great - at the edge of Rome's downtown business district. They also have an on-site restaurant and bar (though they did not include breakfast with the booking). The architecture was interesting also - built into what appears to be an old brick warehouse along the Oostanaula River. We arrived a bit after 3 p.m. on a Friday. We stopped outside the entrance, which was blocked by construction equipment. I entered as directed by signage via a side door. When I entered the atrium, it became apparent that the entire hotel was undergoing a major interior renovation. I checked in and the lady on duty noted the work. She also mentioned that it was listed on the hotel's website. I booked via a 3rd party app, so I had no idea this was ongoing. If I'd known, I definitely would have booked elsewhere. I checked later and, to the hotel's credit, there was a muted banner on the home page noting the construction and associated restaurant closure for the duration. This wasn't the hotel's fault or my fault, but it detracted from the experience. The hotel upgraded us to a suite (probably because of the construction), which was nice - it had lots of space and a full-sized refrigerator. We got to our room and tried to relax. My wife opted for a nap, and did manage to fall asleep despite the ongoing construction noise (that ended between 5 - 5:30 p.m., even on weekends). We were able to easily walk to Broad Street (about a half-block away) which appears to be the main business district. There are a lot of restaurants and some bars there, in addition to other shops. There was a short heat wave that weekend (above 95 both days) so it wasn't that conducive to wandering. That is not the fault of the hotel, though. At night, the room was good. We faced the street (US 27) which was noisy. However, this didn't impact our sleep much. They could probably use another pane in the windows for sound abatement. If I booked again, I'd request a room on the opposite side. The floors were odd, though. The carpet seemed uneven, like the wood underneath was a bit wavy. It made noise when you walked on it and seemed to slope a bit. The restaurant was closed for 2+ months, so we drove to breakfast about 5 minutes away. It wasn't a big deal. There didn't seem to be any places offering a 'full breakfast' within walking distance, though. Another amenity which we made use of was the walking path adjacent to the river. This runs right by the hotel and extends for more than a mile in at least one direction. Parking was in an adjacent lot and parking deck, and cost $11 / day. It was fairly convenient, after registering on a separate app. Overall, I'm rating our experience as a 2 out of 5. However, I'm willing to believe that if you stayed here under normal circumstances, it would probably be more like a 4 out of 5.

This was my first time in the area and I feel like the hotel matches the vibe of the city. The city of Rome is an old historic rustic yet up kept city, which I really enjoyed because it was a different scenery. I stayed in the king suite which I actually really enjoyed. The room, nor does the hotel look super modern, but like I said, it matches the vibe of the entire city. I actually truly enjoyed the aesthetic of it overall. Most importantly our room was clean and we received great customer service. I like the size of the room and even the amenities offered within the room. For my friends wedding her mother-in-law hosted the rehearsal dinner in one of the common/event rooms near the bar. There were around 40 to 50 people and it was a smaller space. However, I really enjoyed the food offered. I'm not sure if it was offered to the hotel or if it was catered. I believe it was offered through the hotel however! We were able to purchase drinks at the bar and the drinks tasted of good quality and was very fresh. The proximity of this hotel is perfect as it is walking distance to different restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. therefore, we were able to try a nice brunch spot that is near the hotel! Which is super convenient for folks who were visiting and didn't have. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely book a day at this hotel!
