Bought a half cord mixed hardwood. Delivered promptly ( 2 hours earlier than scheduled, got me out of bed). I stacked that morning, and was 25% short. Remaining 25% was quickly delivered. Wood is not "well-seasoned", and was told it had recently been rained on and would need to "dry-out" a few weeks before burning. I have seen this same comment in other reviews. Turns out most of the wood is pretty green, as in foam is boiling out of ends of logs. This is definitely not well seasoned wood. I purchased a couple months before really getting into fireplace burning, so hoping it will be ok by January. If you were to purchase, you should buy in srping so it will dry over summer. And I just see a review now that someone paid 475$ for a full cord, while I was charged 450$ for a half cord (review was February 2019 though) read more

Good and Bad. The good part the firewood is of good quality and it was delivered the same day as ordered. The Bad is very high priced $475/cord and I was short shipped. It was delivered in a pickup truck, so I was skeptical at first. Stacked it was a bit less then 100cu ft. equal to 80% of a full cord. To be fair it is late in the season, most sellers are out of wood. I did expect to have to pay a premium, but didn't like paying premium and getting less than a full cord. read more

I just called Quality Firewood per recommendation. They quoted $500 for 1/2 cord and $900 per full cord. As explained, their extreme price was due to high demand due to Covid. I can understand a 50% increase but an ~250% increase is ripping people off. They may be friendly and professional but they have ZERO integrity during these hard times. read more

The 1/2 cord I ordered turned out to be closer to 40% of a cord - it measured out to about 50 cubic feet versus the 64 a half cord is defined. Also, the wood is damp, and like others said needs to be split- usually multiple times - in order to burn read more

These guys are fantastic! Brian the owner was wonderful. I am from Florida and have no experience buying firewood before this. When we moved to Bedford, we noticed our home had a fire pit and my husband said we should buy some firewood. I found Quality Firewood and gave them a call. Brian couldn't have been more patient with all my questions and he was so personable and friendly. He explained everything I needed to know (how much I should get, whether I want pine vs oak, how to store it etc) without acting like he was annoyed. I called him several times after we initially hung up and not once did he sound aggravated. I was able to get my 1/2 cord delivered the next day. He even worked around a last minute schedule change I had to make related to work. The guys who delivered the wood were also great. They were early (which I appreciated!) and even showed me how to lay the wood for our next outdoor fire. Brian and his guys also made sure to give me some smaller pieces of wood for kindling. My logs burnt long and hot. I called Brian last year after an extensive search for a 1/4 cord of dry hardwood firewood. I could not find people willing to deal it to me for a reasonable price. Many of the bigger places I called would only deliver 1/2 cord or more. Many other places would only sell me kiln dried in such quantities. The next cheapest quote I got was more than twice the price. Brian came early one morning and unloaded over 1/3 of a cord. "Better to over-do it a little," he said. I have to say that the wood we recieved certainly burns longer than the stuff we have been buying down the street in packages. As I measure it 6 or 7 logs in the fireplace burn for a good 5 hours at least. My wife keeps a close eye for bugs and we havent noticed much of that either. Definately a pleasure to do business with. I will be buying more wood from him when I run out again. read more

Quality in name only. I usually order from another firewood company, but because I delayed well into November, they were sold out. So, I ordered from these guys. The wood is anything but quality. Although there was less large, gnarly pieces than a usual load and the wood was more well split and uniform length than most, it was the most water saturated, moldy, lichen covered firewood I have ever had delivered. I'm thinking that this load was split in the winter and left out to mold. From the amount of the lichens growing on it - not just on the bark, but all over the logs - and as it takes years for lichens to establish, it is obvious that this wood has been sitting outside for many years. I don't expect kiln-dried, stored inside wood when ordering regular outside stored firewood, but this is ridiculous. Pass on these guys and find somebody else. read more

I gave my dad a 1/2 cord of wood as an early Xmas gift this year. I called Brian a couple days after Thanksgiving and he couldn't have been more friendly over the phone! Explained to me how the wood is treated, the price structure, and told me he could deliver it to my dad the very next day. I was so impressed with his customer service, so I said yes, let's do it. I let him know that my dad can stress easily with deliveries like this and so he sent out some of his long time workers that knew how to charm (Brian himself was already booked with another delivery). They were on time, super nice, stacked the wood in no time, and then even sent me a confirmation text and picture. My father was very pleased. Since this was a gift and I don't live nearby my folks, I popped the check in the mail after the delivery and Brian was very easy going about that, too! My parents have been burning fires in their fireplace for more than a month now and they have no complaints. Wood burns long and hot and catches easily. I paid $300 all in. Once my dad runs outta wood, I'll be re-upping his gift through Brian for sure! read more

First time buying Quality Firewood and it will be the last.The wood does not burn. I have to split it into small pieces to keep it burning. I paid $350 for a 1/2 cord. That's what I paid for a full cord last year. The only reason I paid that is I waited too long and most suppliers are out and Brian knows it. The only reason I gave them 2 stars was their delivery. They delivered it the next day just as they promised. read more

On the plus side, the wood was delivered immediately. On the negative side, it is mildewed, lichened, and often smells bad when we finally get it to burn. Brian warned me that it had been outside and to bring it into my garage for 3-4 days to dry it out before burning. However, even 3-4 WEEKS is hardly enough to get this wood to burn and we have used four times our usual amount of kindling to get it burning in our fireplace woodburning stove insert. Will never buy from this seller again unless I really want to pay twice the usual price, and then be insulted when I express my dissatisfaction. Oh, and when I warned Brian that I would be posting a negative review, he said he wished he could post a negative review of me for being so disorganized as to have purchased wood from him in December! So, in addition to selling lousy wood at double the price, this seller is also weak on customer service skills. read more
