Where do I begin to relate the nightmare that QBS provides? If you want gaslit, ghosted, abused with plenty of twenty-something teenage level pettiness- this is your tax service! *** was highly recommended, that's who I thought I was going to be working with long distance living out of town. First email to them I mentioned I'd paid +- $300 with a DIY tax prep online and was looking for a better deal and could *** get me in? Sure thing, I was in. No one identified who they were, as in "Hello, I am ****** NOT *** I'll be your tax preparer and this is what I need from you this is my fee" etc. Within the next few days all official documents they needed were in their hands, screen shots, pdf files, actual links, last year's returns, ebay end of year financial summaries, 1099K, Etsy net figures etc. What could go wrong? HAHAH. Plenty. I asked how she would like me to handle expenses / earnings - all together or separate, something different? I'd sent over gold standard end of year financial summary documents - zero confirmation they were seen/ aware of them. I was quickly getting the sinking feeling I was dealing with a Millennial who grew up using emoji speak, no reading comprehension, reasoning, deduction, logic etc. Had also asked if they could recommend how to get two years tax situation cleaned up/help me get up to speed, as I had lost 3 family members in that many years and had been in overwhelm. No answer to that query, still no confirmation of receipt of documents, except I DID get an email back from ****** (with no salutation) starting out "Some of your last emails were wordy". This should have been when I pulled the plug. I wouldn't have to be wordy if A) you actually outlined exactly what/how you need/prefer things, B) answered questions and C) you were skilled in something besides texting for interpersonal relating? ***** wanted office square footage and I sent those figures over - she claimed I had never taken home office deduction. I sent over the 2023 return AGAIN (no confirmation day one she ever looked) saying I had pulled the square footage straight from last year's returns she had in her possession sent date blah blah. Bad sign. MASSIVE lack of communication, zero interpersonal skills, zero professionalism. Oh this story does go on and on but suffice to say it ended with a crescendo when ****** pulled a snotty and went into snark mode after I was asked to pay $300, pay to sign title page before receiving the entire document for proofing figures. Not good. After apprising ***** had I known the cost would be same or more as DIY online I would have just done it myself. well whah wahhh they didn't like that. ***** decided to double down on being unprofessional and informed me that she was "shredding your tax return" and signed off with "Have a Great Weekend!". I'm surprised she didn't manage to squeeze some hearts, flowers, rainbow and perhaps a clown face emoji in. I normally would NEVER write a review so long but this was actually one of the most bizarre and unique unprofessional service encounters I have ever had in my life. A warning for others! Called the office and got passed around on the phone (my suspicion was correct, 20 yo's). They have no idea what they are doing. **** had a brief moment of professionalism when I asked her to look in my email and show me exactly where it said I wanted ***** to shred my taxes HAHAHA. Of course she couldn't find it because it wasn't there. Just another knee jerk out of control non functioning non thinking complete lack of interpersonal skills millennial for ya. Best **** could do was say WELL, "you're RUDE". Hunh. I think being called "wordy" in an email no salutation and no answers to questions is the actual person being 'rude'? ****,, to her credit, did calm down enough and see logic, was assured my copy would email immediately after payment. I pay via debit get the copy. Uh oh. Shipping labels were not all added up, expenses were missing. A new form was used, 'SR', layout looked different. The clown show crescendo was in full swing. I had to RESEND ALL DOCUMENTS I HAD SENT WEEKS AGOI I was gaslit with color underlined helpful 'look here, you are in the wrong' which I had to send back with pertinent documents and OWN underlining. I have never gone through such a desperate attempt to prove the customer was wrong. Gaslit because they couldn't look at official end of year ebay summaries. "It's our policy to go by the last documents sent" HAHA Pathetic. Mama Hen got involved, was so angry she called my house to declare my document a TOTAL MESS! (though it was totally accurate) Your 'girls' had every document needed from day one to do my taxes correctly, another knee jerk hot head reaction making a lifetime review mistake. You force me to do your work for you? Buh bye! I got my $$ thrown back at me mutual agreement, did my own cheaper online within 3 hours. Amy has been doing my taxes for almost 10 years and has gotten me returns that other dime services had no idea about or came close to. as a veteran, father and homeowner I can easily say I have had the best returns I've ever received due to Mrs. Bergum's expertise!
