If you are considering using this company, reconsider! The…read morelast year and a half since this process has started has been a headache. We had our original contract revamped after work was started for stairs and a retaining wall due to them needing to do more than expected with draining. Even after that, within a few months the steps were washing away. Took TJ forever to respond then we got every excuse imaginable, when he did finally make it back they broke 2 of the stone slabs that were the steps. They left an excavator and other equipment in my driveway for 2 months, then after it sat all that time they came and got it and said it needed repairs, which made no sense bc why let it sit that long and get it fixed while looking for replacement steps (one of the excuses given.) They did come back months later and did a quick sloppy job finishing. We called as soon as we seen the work to ask if that was how it was staying and it took a few days for a response. Tj said that he was not doing anything more with the draining (even though we paid for proper draining) he admitted to knowing the steps weren't right and said he would come back again but that's the way they had to be because of the pipe? They also kept parking their flatbed on the neighbors property after asked not to and leaving it there, causing issues with my neighbors. Also caused some damage to their property. It's sad when you need to put a "watch your step" warning sign up for brand new work. Beware!!

Should you hire Sugarwood Lawn & Landscaping??? NO!!…read more The wall on their Facebook page is mine. My backyard has ruts from the equipment and several areas that need soil and reseeding. The right of the steps is dangerous, it needs raked out, rocks removed and the soil flatted out. My original contract stated that Sugarwood would repair any grass ripped up by the machines. We had a lot of rain during the install which created sink holes in my yard, again he amended the contract to get his last payment stating he would correct these areas. I called TJ several times to correct this, his response was he couldn't do anything because he lost all his equipment in a flood, that the job, in his opinion was 99% complete, and that I was "stressing him out by calling him". Perhaps the wall and steps were complete, although he never glued the caps, but the detail work is far from complete. He did say that I would be the first person he would call when his insurance claim was settled. I'm still waiting for that call. I could go on but what's the point. He obviously doesn't honor his contract or his word.
