I first heard about Jennifer's Collection prior to traveling to Istanbul during an online search for Turkish towels. After a private city tour, our guide also recommended this shop and said it's worth the visit. As soon as you step inside the showroom, it is obvious that this place is top quality. The weight of the towels, softness and vibe here is exactly what we were looking for in Turkey. We ended up buying several towels and most importantly custom made robes for us. We picked out the towels to be used and then went to the exclusive showroom for a tailored fitting. It took just a few days for the robes to be made and worth the wait. Haci, our salesman, was friendly, answered all of our questions, and made us feel welcome throughout the process. Sipping apple tea was a good way to relax and think through our choices. The shop's owner is from Canada, so this is more of a fixed price shop, but you can receive a little discount the more you buy. The shop is conveniently located in the Arasta Bazaar, about a 10 minute walk from historic sites like the Blue Mosque. We actually preferred this Bazaar over the larger Grand Bazaar as it has more local crafts. Come over and check out Jennifer's shops and take home a piece of Turkish crafted pride.

While walking around checking out the neighborhood, I stumbled upon this fast-fashion store. I…read moreliked the clothing styles on the mannequins by the entrance so I got lured inside. Then I discovered that this store had another floor! I strolled around looking at the clothes and really liked the styles. It's like classy, elegant, and sophisticated styles mixed together producing different tops and bottoms as well as dresses. It's like if Zara, H&M, Banana Republic, and maybe Forever XXI had a baby, the offspring would be BSL. But! BSL is still very unique and definitely has great looking clothes at affordable prices. It reminds me of Bershka too. The fitting rooms are downstairs. The staff members don't speak English, so I used Google Translator to help with our communications. While I was looking through clothes for my size, the employees offered to help me find my size. That was nice of them. Checkout was very easy. The register is pretty close to the entrance. They accept cash and cards. Bring your ID because they asked me for ID to verify my card. Also, I suggest double checking the stitching, seams, and the clothes before leaving. When I got back to the hotel, I found a little stain spot on the striped pants and lace-thread coming out of the laced top. But it's alright, because they are not very noticeable. BSL is now my favorite clothing store in Turkey!

This Mango store is conveniently located near the other stores that I like (because they carry…read moreclothes in my size). There were several selections for tops, bottoms, accessories, and bags. Since it's approaching Winter in Turkey, most of the clothes are for winter. However, I was able to find a thin white blouse top that I really liked and could be used for work. It was a bit pricey for a top, but I hope that the price was based on the garment workers' true and fair labor cost instead of the company jacking up the price from lowballing labor costs to make more profits. There were several cute bags on special. I really liked them but wasn't sure if I would end up using them, so I didn't end up getting any. They had other cut little clutches and wallets too on sale. 4 stars because while waiting for the register, some customers just went straight to the counter without waiting in line. I looked at the sales associate with confusion and they didn't say anything and proceeded with checking out those customers. Not sure if this is a common thing in Turkey because same thing happened at a museum ticketing counter that people skipped to the front, and the couple next to my friend and I were like...what just happened. We were in disbelief. Anyways, thanks Mango for the blouse top!

This is the huge walking street that is supposed to have 3 million people set foot on it every day. They had these shoes in the window that caught my eye and I was thinking of them for days. I always shop around and I wasnt able to find them anywhere else. If I could type Turkish and went online maybe I could, but in English online no, nothing and I looked at dozens of other shoe stores, no, not there. Overall this is a shoe store like most any other and there are loads of shoe stores in Istanbul. If you go to Cevahir Mall there is a whole floor almost of JUST shoes. Sisli stop on the metro. I went but did not find the shoes I saw in the window here. So I bought a pair! 215 Lira in Sept 2015, or about $71.00 USD at Sept 2015 exchange rate. I am, so happy with them! I wouldnt often get online to report I bought some shoes but these are worth reporting as I like them so much. Brand name is SPUNK. I googled it in English and nothing. Maybe its a no name brand, I dont know. They are made in Turkey. They are SO SO soft, and have rubber soles. I wouldnt wear these out in bad weather, but for a night out, casual, easy, they are great and the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. Feel like you are walking on feathers and they make no sound. I can walk down an aisle in the grocery store and startle people as they didnt know anyone was coming by. They feel like a soft pair of slippers. I will post pics of the shoes I bought. They come in many colors. Interesting colors like red, blue green, etc. I opted for something more mainstream, a natural leather. I dont know if they have womens sizes or not, Im sorry I didnt look. They are probably more a mens shoe but oh so comfortable. I bought 4 pairs of shoes in Istanbul. Im not a big shopper normally but there are so many shoe stores there and some styles you dont see anywhere else. It's one of the better things to shop for in Istanbul in my opinion, but Istanbul has everything! I would not call these cheap. You can find loads of shoes for half this price. However you step into a cheaper shoe, and step into this one next and OH MY....unbelievable difference. So honestly, this is a shoe store like many, and this shoe might not appeal to you, but because they seemed to have the one super shoe that I didnt see ANYWHERE else I am giving them a 5 star. It was the best buy I made on a 4 nation journey. To me thats worth some extra stars! Pictures posted of the shoes and the famous street. Dont leave Istanbul without walking down this street, and then back again, at least once! If this shoe appeals to you keep an eye out for it! Heading away from Taksim square its on your right.
