I recently spent 12 days in Istanbul, and many of the nights I walked by this store-twice. You go up Istiklal Street and back again. This is the huge walking street that is supposed to have 3 million people set foot on it every day. They had these shoes in the window that caught my eye and I was thinking of them for days. I always shop around and I wasnt able to find them anywhere else. If I could type Turkish and went online maybe I could, but in English online no, nothing and I looked at dozens of other shoe stores, no, not there. Overall this is a shoe store like most any other and there are loads of shoe stores in Istanbul. If you go to Cevahir Mall there is a whole floor almost of JUST shoes. Sisli stop on the metro. I went but did not find the shoes I saw in the window here. So I bought a pair! 215 Lira in Sept 2015, or about $71.00 USD at Sept 2015 exchange rate. I am, so happy with them! I wouldnt often get online to report I bought some shoes but these are worth reporting as I like them so much. Brand name is SPUNK. I googled it in English and nothing. Maybe its a no name brand, I dont know. They are made in Turkey. They are SO SO soft, and have rubber soles. I wouldnt wear these out in bad weather, but for a night out, casual, easy, they are great and the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. Feel like you are walking on feathers and they make no sound. I can walk down an aisle in the grocery store and startle people as they didnt know anyone was coming by. They feel like a soft pair of slippers. I will post pics of the shoes I bought. They come in many colors. Interesting colors like red, blue green, etc. I opted for something more mainstream, a natural leather. I dont know if they have womens sizes or not, Im sorry I didnt look. They are probably more a mens shoe but oh so comfortable. I bought 4 pairs of shoes in Istanbul. Im not a big shopper normally but there are so many shoe stores there and some styles you dont see anywhere else. It's one of the better things to shop for in Istanbul in my opinion, but Istanbul has everything! I would not call these cheap. You can find loads of shoes for half this price. However you step into a cheaper shoe, and step into this one next and OH MY....unbelievable difference. So honestly, this is a shoe store like many, and this shoe might not appeal to you, but because they seemed to have the one super shoe that I didnt see ANYWHERE else I am giving them a 5 star. It was the best buy I made on a 4 nation journey. To me thats worth some extra stars! Pictures posted of the shoes and the famous street.
