Stopped by this place after doing the train fall color tour. Located a few blocks down which is walkable distance. Interesting small town. Walked in and it seemed busy as we were coming in around lunch hour. We decided to grab a table and waited for a staff member. It took awhile before someone greeted us. It seems like there was only 2 people working running the bar and tables. Took awhile for our drinks and got our menus. I read a caption in their menu and it says it's not fast food and service may take approx 30 minutes or so. I thought that was interesting. We finally got to order our food and that took some little time too. Server was nice. I ordered a Swiss mushroom burger with onion rings. It rained out good. When trying to get our bill and pay, we eventually had to track down someone to pay our bills. read more

This is a nice local community bar! Very good selection of tap beer. The food was very good! The fresh cut fries were delicious and the burgers were good. The food is a tad overpriced. And my burger bun was pretty stale, so paying $12.00 seemed pretty out there. It's good for a local small pub. read more

Stopped in yesterday for lunch. Was greeted by Lily & Kade. Whoa.. any craft tulip pour $5? Py's you are singing my song! I opted for a reasonable 5.5% Lexington Vanilla barrel cream ale. The tap list isn't overwhelming and certainly not sparse, so you should be able to find he domestic or craft beer you're looking for. For lunch I went w a standard grilled chicken sandwich. I should have lined up silverware or something to better reflect the thickness of the chicken breast! With just a dollop of mayo and a couple leafs of lettuce it was a perfectly refreshing lunch. Py's is a comfortable vibe w tables spread spaciously and another room a couple steps down. Don't forget there is a deck and patio out back! As I sat on the deck w my beer I imagined how stunning it will be in a few months in the fall! Based on yesterday's service and deliciousness I presume I'll be back well before fall but fall will be a must. I didn't realize there was parking in the back by the patio, if you prefer not to try and maneuver in to a street space. It's hard to mess up wings and folks they did it. We went in on a game day which is expectedly busy, however our food took over an hour. We ordered sweet potato fries and wings and after finally getting them I bit into a wing and unfortunately the outside was warm and the inside near the bone was freezing. We alerted the waitress and all she had to say was "I'm sorry." We were still charged for everything and had to ask that they take the wings off our check. The lady at the thrift store warned us not to go here and we should have listened. read more

This is an old bar with a great burger. The service has been good when I've been there and the burgers have delivered!

After stepping out of an antique store a couple of doors down, I was lifted like in the cartoons and carried to this place by the smell of all the delectables that were getting blown my way via the grease vent. Everyone at this place seemed to know each other. The special of the day was a mushroom swiss burger for $4.50 with fries being an additional $2.00. I opted for a bacon cheddar burger and it was amazing. After I place the my order, the next thing I see happening is the cook taking a potatoe, putting it through a manual industrial fry maker and then dumping the results into grease. The fries were not rushed and came out Mc Donald's size excellent. My burger, medium rare was outstanding. The beer selection was also excellent as I had New Glarus Spotted Cow on tap, Flopping Crappie and a porter from Ashland, WI which I forget the name of. All were tasty. They even offer a sampler which is pretty cool because at least 5 of the beers I haven't seen on the good side of the border. The bummer? Credit cards not accepted. The good thing? They have a cash machine. The bummer? You get hit up with a $3.00 service charge. The good thing? You get a coupon for a free pint or $2.00 off your meal. Plus they are next door to the Cascade Falls which you can walk down to and follow the trail to the St. Croix River. Definitely a very cool day trip and for those that live in the area, consider yourself blessed. read more

Location is the best-this bar & grill is just down from the Wilkes waterfall. If you sit on the patio (like we did), you can hear & see the waterfalls. There is a large free parking lot behind the bar for the folks with boats & motorcycles! The food was good and good value. They warned us that it might take up to 45 minutes for our food (due to Covid virus) but it actually much shorter time than that! Not at all fancy, so you can come here after being on the St. Croix River (ie sweaty & maybe even fishy) and relax, enjoy the atmosphere/food/bevies and scenic overlook! read more

Service was SO slow and hardly busy. Took 3 times to get my order right which was disappointing. 1 hour after ordering we ate. The waitress acknowledged that by not charging for my burger, but really should have compted the whole thing. We ate 30 mins after the people we came with. It was decent food, appreciate a toasted bun but probably never will go back. Indoor dining has no distancing of tables or waiters, no masks, no Covid precautions really. Just stopped in to have a bite on our way to a festival at Trollhaugen. At first we were confused on where to sit so we had to ask the cook (the kitchen is at the end of the bar). Once seated, we ordered some beers and it took a little bit longer to get someone to return so we could order our food. The menu is burgers and apps (mostly fried) but there were some cool items like tempura battered banana pepper rings, hand cut ripple potato chips (fried right in front of you) and all their fries are also hand cut to order. The prices were excellently inexpensive! We received our burgers and they were amazing! I did the works 1/3 lb cheeseburger, the meat was so super fresh and juicy and cooked/seasoned PERFECTLY! The potato bun was VERY fresh! And only 6$ for the burger! The tap beer selection was very impressive for this small town bar and grill. I was surprised to walk outside to a beautiful patio overlooking the falls on the river with couches and all. We will definitely return! Our meal was under 30$ and freaking fantastic! Living in Scandia the choices of eateries is underwhelming to say the least. Wanting a good burger, and wanting to try something new, we searched yelp and ended up at Py's. It was about eight o'clock on a Friday night and the place was pretty busy. We seated ourselves as there didn't appear to be any direction as to self seat or wait. After waiting about ten minutes, I walked to the bar to inquire about service. Five minutes later we had menus. The choices looked promising and very reasonably priced. They have New Glarus Spotted Cow on tap, which is always welcomed. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (I wanted a fried egg on it but they apparently don't have eggs) and my wife ordered a mushroom swiss burger. Both burgers were way over cooked and dry. Mine was actually crunchy it was so burnt. The French fries were fantastic. Fresh cut and actually fried to crisp. Best part of the meal. The second best part is the price. One beer, one glass of wine, and two burgers was just a hair under twenty dollars. Excellent value. I think we'll chalk it up to being to late on a busy night. A waitress that was slow and dressed to impress rather than serve (i.e. - four inch heals - must be a noob), and a cook who must have taken a break while the burgers were cooking. We probably will give them another shot but certainly won't be rushing back. This area needs some better options. read more

As my guy said, this Prime Rib Sandwich is like Christmas in your mouth!! It is to die for!! Wowza!! We also had the Pretzel Bites with Beer Cheese dip. So amazing we ordered a second!! I went here for the first time with my family this past week and I was greatly impressed. It is a small little bar in downtown osceola but don't let that fool you. Their french fries are clearly homemade straight from the potato and cooked perfectly. Everyone in my family ordered basic cheeseburgers, more or less, but still nothing to complain about. The atmosphere seemed a bit dull, however we were there late on a Wednesday night so not much else to expect. The staff was friendly and nice and we were able to get all of our food and drinks in a timely manner. For a table of 5 with food and beer our bill came out to under $80.00 so it is very reasonably priced. My family and I plan to continue coming back here next time we are near the area! read more

Stopped in yesterday after visiting the train depot nearby. Chose this place based on yelp reviews and also for its charm and location right off the main road. We walked in and found ourselves a table. The waitress greeted us right away with menus and was very friendly. My two friends and I each ordered appetizers to share and some root beers. Everything was delicious but I think my personal favorites were the pretzel bites (the cheese sauce is amazing and the pretzels are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside) and the mini tacos (crispy corn shells with a wonderfully flavored seasoning and they come with sour cream and salsa). Even the root beer was especially delicious. I should also mention besides the great service, the prices were really affordable too! The next time I visit Osceola I will make a point to stop in again. read more

Took the family in for dinner and a beer. Beer was cold and the fries were hot! The cheese curds were worth the drive from all the way from Arizona, "And so were the mini tacos," says my wife, "I have to admit, I did get a little sad when I ate my last one!". When we were all done eating our delicious food, we all went down the stairs right outside of the building and got to take pictures of and see the amazing Cascade Falls. If you're looking for beer, burgers, and fried food, this is a great place to find all three at a nice affordable price. I had the "garbage can" appetizer - basically everything they could think to throw in the deep fryer, and my wife had the bacon cheeseburger. The burger and bacon both had very nice flavor. The beer selection is pretty broad for a small town bar, and there's pretty decent outdoor seating in the back. For the prices and the quality of the burger, I'd definitely come back. read more

If you want some fried appetizers and a beer, you really can't do better than this place. We're from the Twin Cities and had to admit that Wisconsin has the superior experts on frying things (I often don't even like fried snacks, but these were fantastic). PY's is a typical bar but it has a great feel to it. I've eaten here several times over the past few years. They are located right next to the falls in Osceola so after you trek up and down the 156 steps to the falls, PY's is a great place to refuel. They have a wide variety of beers but I really love the fried cheese curds. But we had the fried dill pickles this past visit and they were pretty dang good. read more

We ordered the appetizer sampler and a bacon cheeseburger and it was pretty tasty. The prices were great. The issue we had here was the service. We had asked if there was available seating outside and a man told us "yeah, but no one to serve you." So we sat inside and listened to the middle aged bartender/server snot off to a customer because he commented on the thrash metal that was playing inside. She continued on to take several cigarette breaks out on the patio "where they won't serve you." So you can take your smoke breaks out there but you can't serve your customers??
