In August 2025, on my first visit to Londonderry since 2019, I walked out along the waterfront in search of Pyke 'n' Pommes Pod, following a recommendation from someone. I had looked it up and was interested.
The place consists of a container kitchen with both outdoor seating and a double-decker bus for indoor seating.
There are blackboard menus outside the bus, offering a range of burgers and tacos. The first burger on the menu is called the "Legenderry" burger! I hope to be back for that and others on future occasions. However, I opted for 3 tacos, choosing the fish, brisket and cauliflower options.
I don't know how long it took for my food to arrive as I didn't check my watch beforehand but it seemed like ages.
When my food was ready, I took it into the double-decker bus to eat it upstairs, not least because I wanted the inside of the bus to be the background of my food photos
The tacos are of the soft variety rather than crispy tacos. Crispy would probably photograph better but soft tacos are actually much more practicable in terms of holding them together. All three were pleasant but the beef brisket had by far the most flavour, both from the meat and from the spices and sauce. Cauliflower would probably benefit from being roasted until blackened but that would hold up the queue all day.
I hope to be back for more brisket, probably together with the chicken and squid tacos, before working through the burgers.
The ambience of the black, turquoise, orange and grey colour scheme of the bus is really street-food cool! read more
