It's a 45 min mat pilates class taught by Abby and Melanie. May 30th was their last rooftop class for now until it gets cooler out again. My cousins happened to find the event and 4 of us joined since there was a 2 for 1 deal (about $11 each!). It was my first time taking a mat pilates class and I loved it, minus the burning sun part. If this were in spring or fall, it would be perfect! I parked one below in the shade and as soon as I walked up, I could already hear the music the dj had on and it was just my kinda music. Surrounding the grass area were different vendors including Starbucks, a matcha bar, skin care, tarot, gummies, protein bars, bread and cookies, women's health, massages, IV shots, health coaching and merch. The details of the event didn't say to bring our own mat so two of us forgot to pack one. Luckily, the instructors had a bunch of extras for anyone who forgot. They also provided bands for everyone. Those bands killed us. You'll feel the burn the next day. In fact, my whole body was sore for a few days and I started feeling it already that same night. After the class ended, we browsed the vendors. I purchased some gummies (hair/nails and energy), had a quick tarot reading done, grabbed some freebies and 2purchased matchas. Every now and then, it's nice to stroll through the Biltmore Fashion Park. My wife and I…read moreoccasionally make it to a meal or to shop or even play at the Biltmore (or yes, a stroll). I also sometimes meet up with friends or family or even head there on my own. There's something for everyone and plenty to see and do; however, some of my favorite stores and restaurants have closed and been replaced over the years. It also happens to be where my wife and I had our first date! The Biltmore Fashion Park is known for some great restaurants. While there are some upscale and casual restaurants there, my favorites include Seasons 52 or True Food for a good meal and Frost a Gelato Shoppe for dessert. I really enjoy having several Fox restaurants at the Biltmore. There are also many other restaurants in the area. Several of the restaurants have great happy hours, too. I miss the Crepe Club though several other restaurants have opened since then. There are also plenty of shops from upscale shops to more casual ones like Lululemon and Sakes 5th Avenue. There are fancy clothing stores that my wife may enjoy though I typically enjoy the nice courtyard or seating outside some of the stores while she shops. Then, we grab a bite somewhere together. I miss the Apple Store and Sharper Image but look forward to what is opened next. There are also experiences from the Sip & Stroll (where you can enjoy a beverage from one of six restaurants and then walk around), meet-up with the Phoenix Run Club, the Art Walk, the Swiftie Liftie Outdoor Workout Class, or one of a number of galas or special events. Went up from San Tan Valley for a well publicized "Yappy Hour" apparently held monthly in the mall…read morecourtyard. What fun even though it was 90 minute drive for me. Decent parking and I found a close handicapped space for the van. Event started promptly at 5:30. A few vendors including our very own Yelp Elite Event spot in Gilbert -Pixie sticks. They had a nice boutique there with an assortment of their items for sale. Joining them with booths were PetSmart (pup cups), a couple dog rescue orgs, and a Halloween photographer. There was also great music and really good cash bar making some excellent cocktails. It was a free event. The cocktails were $9 apiece... decent value. Topped it off with dinner at ZinBurger before I left. There's a few great restaurants up there, so will probably back despite the long drive.

Many people call it "Sheatum" as it is the corner of Shea Blvd and Tatum Blvd. Some of my favorite stores and restaurants used to be here. I remember stopping by Blockbuster Video and Staples regularly many years ago, and more recently, my wife and I registered for our wedding at Bed Bath and Beyond. After Bed Bath and Beyond, there were temporary exhibits like the FRIENDS Experience and the annual Spirit Halloween Store. I also remember shopping regularly at Albertson's well before it merged with Safeway, visiting friends at Starbucks, eating at Einstein's, Z Tejas, Kovo, and My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. So many memories! Even with all of these places closed, there are still some great places that are still open, either places I used to frequent or do today. For instance, I can still fill up gas at Superpumper, get a haircut at Great Clips, do my banking at Chase, grab quick items or prescriptions at Walgreens, mail letters and packages at The UPS Store, at eat meals at Noodles & Co, The Screamery, Rusconi's American Kitchen, Over Easy, Panda Express, Jet's Pizza, and Original ChopShop or shop at Ross or Hallmark. I also started going to PetSmart after getting my first pet as well as learned about DesertNail Spa and Paradise Juice. I know there are still many other stores, restaurants, and services I have yet to visit. There is plenty of parking nearby any of these restaurants, stores, and services. Also, for the most part, when there is one company that closes its location, another opens up shortly thereafter (except for Albertson's but that will be a fitness center very soon). I look forward seeing how the Paradise Village Gateway continues to evolve in the future.

My favorite stops are Paige, Rag and Bone and Free People, but from sporty to preppy to upscale, they have something for all tastes. If like me, you're not traveling in a vehicle, it's easy to get around. Furniture, decor, coffee, lingerie, restaurants, shopping, makeup, and putt putt, fair warning, it's easy to spend more time than you planned.

There is an are no lack of restaurants to choose from. I saw a few clothing boutiques as well. Located on Scottsdale & Double Tree Road, it is easy access from the freeway or street. We had driven by this: -bigger than EVER imagined- enlightening area of variety of places to venture!!!! (Never knew of its excitement within!!),.. We could NOT believe,- (as we drove around a few times),- how many places are actually here!! AND,.. how spread out this place really is!!!! Wowwww!!!!!!!! As much as we have been by and near here,.. we never, ever,.. had a thought,.. ** to even bother to venture behind the few surroundings of buildings and all, that face the drive down Scottsdale Road!!!! We have yet,.. To explore the many buildings of businesses enclaved in this SUPER - "centerpiece",.. But we are so very excited to do so!!

All the places I've tried have been friendly with a good selection and comparable price points to similar shops. If you are in the area, I'd definitely stop by. My perfect visit would be getting a Watermelon Iced Tea from AJ Fine Foods, Lavender & Pear hand soap/lotion from LATHER, sushi from Sushi Vibe, and end with a delicious treat at Salt & Straw.
