One of the most concerning issues was the pairing of children for sparring and drills. It seems there was little consideration for the varying experience levels among the kids. As a result, my child felt overwhelmed and discouraged, which is the opposite of what we were looking for. Additionally, the focus on teaching techniques seemed to overshadow the importance of making learning enjoyable for the kids. Training should be a fun and engaging experience, especially for younger students, but the environment felt rigid and overly technical. I believe that fostering a love for the sport is just as important as mastering techniques, and this balance was unfortunately lacking. I hope the management takes these issues into account to improve the experience for future students.For now, I cannot recommend Morumbi Jiu Jitsu based on my child's recent experience.

On multiple occasions, the manager has been locked in the office using a personal phone rather than being visible on the gym floor or addressing the condition of the club. Members pay a premium to work out in a clean, well-maintained environment. UFC Gym has great equipment and potential, but the lack of cleanliness, visible management, and attention to detail has significantly impacted my experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves the facility for its members.

It was on the coolish side, but the abundance of sunshine made it seem warmer. We had an early dinner down on Main Street. Where we parked there was a sign indicating that the eastern entrance to Grant Park was nearby. We had been up there perhaps only once in the past, and we'd gone in from the west. The drive up in the late afternoon / early evening had the golden glow magic to it. The light was amazing! I was driving and marveling at every twist and turn on the roadway while ascending the hills. The wildflowers and green groundcover from winter's rains made the scenery even more breathtaking than it might be when the grasses start to turn golden instead of green. I was able to drive all the way to the top parking lot, which overlooks the Serra Cross, and the entire Ventura coastline. The view encompasses the pier, the harbor, then beyond out to Channel Islands Harbor, Port Hueneme, and the western edge of the Santa Monica Mountains. It solidified my feelings in that moment of gratitude for enjoying life in Ventura County for the past 40 years. A gorgeous view on a clear day can do that for a person. When a sunny day happens, and the winds are calm, I can recommend taking a drive up to the top of Grant Park to make some of your daily cares seem very small. Looking down on the city / county from on high helped lift my spirits and added joy to my birthday celebrations.

I hate working out. I won't do sit ups, crunches, squats, push ups just because I should. But I can do sports that include that stuff as part of the conditioning. I loved and practiced Koei Kan karate for 10+ years - then our dojo closed and Sensei moved away. I looked around for a top notch martial art to practice but was uninterested at the choices available until I found Pu'u Muay Thai. I was offered a 30 day free trial, what could I lose? I found it was an excellent workout with lots of encouragement (it was necessary to unlearn some karate stances and kicks that interfered with Muay Thai techniques.) The atmosphere is high energy, welcoming, and very supportive - with both instructors and other students. The instructors and equipment are excellent. Respect and camaraderie are promoted every day at every level. Kru Jonathan develops workshops with International champions and training gyms in Thailand and beyond. The abundance of accomplished women and youngsters is impressive. You are encouraged to progress whether or not you want to, or think you're ready. My experience with the Pu'u Muay Thai has been great! I use to really struggle to find motivation to workout but here I really feel like the coaches and everyone you train with care and want you to get better and stronger. I have been coming to Pu'u for a little over a year and as I continue to get better I really see the results. This place will get you ready if you want to compete in fighting events but if you are like me and just want a really good workout, you still train in the same environment but you can trust that the coaches know what they are doing and wont put you in a position that you know you can't handle. read more

The space was welcoming, the instructors were warm and encouraging, and the energy was pure empowerment. They met me exactly where I was--physically and emotionally--and helped me build strength I thought I'd lost forever. Slowly, class by class, I began to feel muscles I hadn't felt in years waking up again. I started standing taller, moving with more confidence, and, dare I say it, feeling powerful. This isn't just a workout--it's a healing journey wrapped in sweat and trembling muscles. The Lagree method is no joke (your glutes will write you angry letters), but it's also deeply transformative. I am stronger, leaner, and more connected to my body than I ever was in my 30s or 40s. And the best part? I now look forward to movement. I'm no longer working out to punish my body--I'm showing up to honor it. To anyone who feels like their best days are behind them, or that they're too far gone to make a change--please hear me: you are not. At first glance the studio seems to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Once class began, she demonstrated and explained each move clearly. We had a small group so she regularly checked on each person to make sure our form was correct. This course turned out to be more challenging than I expected. It was recommended by the instructor to take a few beginners courses until you're more familiar and comfortable with using the megareformer. Overall it was a good workout, would definitely consider attending another class.

The instructor, who was a woman, Miss Daisy, was a black belt and the daughter of Master Nunez, who opened this establishment. She did a fantastic job! She was very nice, instructed the children very well, was engaging and she was also very understanding. She had the perfect balance of everything it takes to keep this kids in check. My nephew learned a lot and very quickly. She did not overwhelm the newbies, like my nephew and he looks forward to his next class. The studio is right in Downtown Oxnard on A street. It's about $80 a month, for 3 classes a week, 12 classes a month, which breaks down to less than $7/class. It is well worth the money. There is parking in the front and the back of the studio. Parents and family are welcome to stay and watch. There are chairs in the front where the kids could be watched, but it does get hot in the studio as the windows are facing the sun as the sun begins to set so there is full sun at 5 pm. Bring water! They also sell water and snacks in the studios for those that need it. I will update my review as time goes on. I look forward to seeing how my nephew progresses in these classes!
