Loved this mini golf place! They do birthday parties, group bookings, have three different mini gold courses all with a different theme; jungle trail, fun run and waterways. Each 18 holes. Have a refreshment/snack stand and a video game room. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Fun for all ages! read more

History

Established in 1969.

Remember the smell of pink zinc and licorice ice cream and feel the sunburn of those long school holidays back when you could still count the highrise in Surfers Paradise this was when the first Putt Putt Golf Course opened in Australia. The day was September 19th 1969 when Mayor Sir Bruce Small putted the first ball and its opening at Surfers was front page news. Thirty Courses were built in prime locations all over Australia and these were the times when Putt Putt Golf was almost as big as the big game. A Professional Putters Association was established along with a circuit for the pro's to play for the chance to win big prize money. In 1972 Putt Putt Golf moved its highly popular and successful operation to its present location at Mermaid Beach closing Surfers Paradise in 1975. Putt Putt Golf is still going strong after 40 years of providing enjoyment for all ages.

I couldn't find the Marketta Cafe, so I have a strange feeling that the cafe is part the Miami Marketta. We went there to get an iced coffee after the beach. They didn't have Iced Americanos on the menu, but they gladly made them for us. Also, I was short about 1 dollar since we were trying to get ride of all of our Australian coins, and the lady happily said, no worries that's enough. She was super nice and to top it off the coffee was the best we had since our stay on the Gold Coast (better than Zarraffa's, which I am sure is not difficult). The cafe was fully mums and babies (it was Tuesday late morning), and from the menu I saw that there was some delicious smoothies as well as other yummy snacks and cabinet food. Keep doing what you are doing Marketta Cafe!

Doesn't matter where you sit as you can see the hole stage from any seat.. service was great, but the show goes for a while so I suggest that you get a 6 pac in a bucket or a cocktail in a big glass.. Staff are really good at what they do and show is entertaining and funny Definitely a highlight of my gold coast trip.
