I reached out to Maid Brigade somewhat late on a Saturday night via email and had received a call…read morewithin 15-30 mins to schedule an initial clean. The owner was very friendly and communicative. The initial clean great-- our floors were spotless of all dog hair, countertops and bathrooms were spotless so we decided to move forward with scheduling regular biweekly cleans. The staff was friendly and always on time and if there were any schedule changes, we did receive a call beforehand to approve it. We received probably 4-5 services from them and they were all great, minus the last two. The first incident, my fiancé and I had come home and noticed that there was still some dried drool from our hound dog (who we take to daycare on cleaning days so we know he hadn't made a mess while the cleaners were there). We both didn't notice it until late when we were getting ready for bed. We thought that maybe it had been a tough spot to remove, but all it had taken from me was a damp paper towel to remove. The last clean we received from them was really the final straw for me. I was home that day and decided to work in my office upstairs while the house was cleaned. Only one employee came when it's normally two. This wasn't a problem, but I had expected it to take longer that time since there was only 1 person cleaning the same square footage that 2 would normally clean. It normally takes two people two hours to clean our 2,500 square foot house, but I went downstairs after two hours and she had already finished and gone on her way. I decided to sit in the living room since I'd no longer be in her way while she cleaned, and noticed a lot of debris under the couch across from me. That's what made me start looking around the rest of my house. The counters had crumbs on it like it hadn't been wiped, or was just quickly wiped. There was still the same spots of food on my stove and the floors looked like they had not been mopped. After seeing how many common areas/ high touch areas that were missed/neglected, I sent a message to the owner and asked that services be canceled and explained what happened. He did offer to have someone come by to fix everything, but I declined as we do have to make arrangements for my dog whenever they come. I also felt like the spaces that looked neglected were common high touch areas that cleaners shouldn't typically miss such as the kitchen counters and stove. I was also charged the same price for this last time as I was for two people to spend two hours cleaning my house. Overall, very disappointed and felt taken advantage of, but bumped up to two stars for the owners communication from the start.
