That sale was limited to a shed filled with paperbacks, kids' books, CDs, and DVDs. It was fairly picked through (being the last day of the sale) but I did get a bag of books well worth $5. The main building has a large selection of used books (individually priced), shirts, bookmarks, soap, teacups, towels, candles, edible goodies like cookies and honey, and other fun gifty items. There are chairs placed throughout the store so you don't have to kneel on the floor to look at some of the lower shelves. My favorite part is that the store owner donates proceeds to local animal rescue groups. I had a great time picking out some new books and supporting a good cause. I will return!

Upon entering we found that this was not quite the case. There wasn't anything 5&10ish, not even a few penny/ super cheap candies for kids. This store is full of souvenirs that are pretty much the same as the other stores on the strip. Most of them are pretty cheesy but they had some decent options if you wanted a Christmas ornament or some cute lake house decor. There were plenty of t shirts, mugs, shot glasses, small items with a variety of peoples names printed on, etc. There were some items that didn't have Alexandria Bay or 1000 Islands plastered across which was good. I think the 5&10 name and sign is misleading but if you have time to kill and come and look you might find something you like.

I walked in, browsed for a couple minutes, and checked in at 4:59 p.m. My Yelp app then said, "Closing in 1 min" so I asked the person near the cash register if they were closing. He said no -- that they extend their hours in the summer. Keep that in mind! So that was a relief. I then went back to what I had already set my sights on: a pretty coaster set ($20). Yes, the coaster set was pretty. Heck, most of the items in the gallery are, indeed, pretty. They have jewelry and bags and globes of every shape and size and price. They have conversational cue cards and nautical items (obviously) and prints galore. It's fantastic. I wish I could visit again, but I'm back home in Philly so I cannot right now. However, I'm happy to report that the coaster set is also in Philly.... where I'm simply looking at it rather than utilizing any of the coasters for drinks. They're too pretty to use.
