My boyfriend and I went here recently of a valentines gift voucher that he bought us. Immediate impressions: the space was cavernous, echoey, and poorly utilized. The lighting was horrible for a spa-bright and neon. The staff themselves seemed too "busy" to be bothered. We walked in and after about a minute were finally greeted even though we were basically the only people in sight. We sat down and filled out our forms. No one offered us a drink which i thought was odd since every other spa ive been to has done exactly that...i had to ask for some tea. Once we were in the individual massage rooms, which were TINY, we had to awkwardly undress. There was only one hook to hang your stuff and no where to put your shoes that wasn't in the way. Again, odd to me since the entire spa was large. Once, I was ready and lying waiting for the masseuse i realized something else, Rhianna was blaring out in the main reception and conflicting with the "soothing" soundtrack that was playing in my room. not relaxing at all. i, again , had to mention something. Then the girl got on with the job at hand...oh my goodness, i like firm pressure which is what i told her but she used her elbows and so much pressure i was in agony. i could feel her getting some of the knots out but it seemed so excessive and just when i thought she was done she started again. i got the full body but 45 mins were spent on just my back, barely any on my arms, some on my legs, and none on my neck or feet. a different experience than ive ever had before. finally finished, i go to meet my boyfriend. we leave and he starts telling me how much pain he was in afterwards! This is a man who is pretty fit and strong and his masseuse did the same thing, elbows and too much pressure. I think PURE needs to retrain their staff and pay more attention to the details. only pluses: the hot oil, warm towel, and the bubbly at the end. Im glad we didnt pay full price though. read more
