Christine is caring and thoughtful with a great deal of training. She doesn't push for more procedures

This past summer, 2022, my wife and I migrated to Palm Beach County. Finding appropriate healthcare professionals has been a challenge. Over the weekend - this minor dermatological emergency evolved. This morning, Monday, I placed a call to Brilliant Dermatology. The office staff was polite, sympathetic, and efficient. The office staff worked relentlessly to accommodate me with a same-day appointment. I could not have been more pleased! The office was easy to find this afternoon and had plenty of comfortable in-and-out parking. Dr. Schwartzfarb-Norton's Physician Assistant - Ericka Luceri, PA-C, was professional, patient, highly skilled, and knowledgeable. I would trust her to care for my very own family members. PA Luceri performed several procedures safely and effectively and took the utmost care to ensure that pain was minimized. She truly was incredible! Thank you, PA Luceri. At the end of my visit I had the opportunity to review things personally with Dr. Schwartzfarb-Norton. She explained things thoroughly and took an appropriate amount of time to ensure my satisfaction. I am truly stunned at the amount of time that was spent caring for me and addressing my concerns. A+ on this visit! If you need a Dermatologist, I highly recommend Brilliant Dermatology & Aesthetics.

THOMAS BALSHI REFUSED TO DON A MASK When I inquired whether he was vaccinated, he said it was "None of my business," and that he was not required to answer. He said that I could wear a mask if I chose; however, I have spots on my nose that he had previously treated that he would have to examine--up close. Even if that were not the case, one would think that he would wear one upon request for his patients' comfort. It really seemed like a political statement. No one took my temperature. He could not know whether I have COVID or the flu. Even temperature monitoring only accounts for about 55% of infections. Should a patient inadvertently infect him, then he could well transmit it to other patients. All other physicians I have been to are masked and require that the patients wear one, as well as filling out a questionnaire regarding exposure, whether they have had COVID, etc. None of Dr. Balshi's staff wore masks either. Regrettably, up until today, I had been more than pleased with Dr. Balshi's care and expertise. I encouraged my insurance to direct him to implement these simple procedures, OR to disqualify him as a provider.

He was referred to me by my primary and he was not in my plan. So I was self pay. And for the cost and leaving there confused. I should've just handed him the money and not wasted my time and stayed at work. I since got my diagnosis a year later. If he took the time and actually looked closer maybe I could've given a good review.

I left Dr. Mounir M. Wassef´s practice with a very, very bad taste in my mouth…read more I first went to see him as a new patient for an annual check up and consultation. During my first visit, I showed him a couple of small, keratosis like lesions that I suspected were cancerous. He agreed and did biopisies. The purpose of my second appointment was to inform me that the biopsies had come back positive for squamous cell carcinoma, something that I am quite familiar with being that I have very fair skin and grew up in a tropical climate. During this second visit, I pointed to yet another lesion on my chest which he had missed during the body check. Another biopsy followed and on my third appointment I was told that this lesion had also come out squamous cell carcinoma. Now, because these were very, very small and incipient, Dr. Wassef informed me that surgery was not needed. He would freeze all three with liquid nitrogen, a procedure that takes seconds and involves no extraction. Dr. Wassef could have done this during this visit, but proceeded to inform me that he would only be able to freeze one at a time because he would not be paid by my insurance otherwise. This was a first to me. As a dermatology patient for many years, the norm has always been to use the liquid nitrogen on various lesions at a time. Hence, on my next appointment, I asked him why he was having me come back time and again. His response was to point to his assistant, who was present, and inform me that he had to "pay for her salary". He then added that he also had to pay for his children's college tuition, etc. At this pronouncement, I felt extremely uncomfortable and decided to never go back to this practice. Fortunately, I was able to secure a quick appointment with my previous dermatologist in Miami and take care of ALL three lesions in a single appointment: one billed visit, one co-pay. Dr. Wassef is undoubtedly knowledgeable and competent in his field. He is also personable. What he is not is ethical. He embodies everything that is wrong with our greed infused medical system. What a shame.
