I'm big on health and making decisions that will have a positive impact on my long-term health, which is why about 6 months ago I made the decision to start seeing a Chiropractor on the regular. Doesn't hurt that insurance covers the bulk of it either :). In looking for a Chiropractor I wanted someone well qualified with reviews to back it. Secondly I wanted someone located within reasonable driving distance and affordable for regular appointments. Cummings Chiropractic Family Wellness met all these requirements. I don't pay too much attention to testimonials on business websites as these are easy to make bias, but in doing a public search I found Dr. Cummings has a very strong track record. He has a flawless record on RateMDs, great reviews on Google+ and even a surprisingly strong social media presence (great to see for a medical professional). His actual practice is conveniently located on Elbow drive right in Kingsland Plaza, easy to get to and this Plaza never get's too busy. There's 3 dedicated parking stalls and street parking nearby, I've never had issue getting parking. His prices are very affordable and fair compared to some other options I looked at, I'm not going to quote them here in case they change, but check the fee schedule on their website. Everything considered, they passed my initial search criteria with ease. Upon actually doing my consultation and subsequent visits there was nothing I encountered that would deter me from continued visits. Front desk is polite, efficient and professional. They always work with my schedule and have direct submission for my insurance provider making coming in and out a breeze! As for the Chiropractor, Dr. Grant Cummings is a great guy, always happy, polite, conversational and most importantly professional. He has the professional and educational credentials you would want from a medical professional and is very comfortable/confident in fielding any questions I have. I can honestly say I feel looser and more agile since I started visiting, and the frequency of my "episodes" have decreased as well. Things are especially good when I actually follow the suggested home care methods he provided as well, although I need to work on keeping up on these :). The practice/facility itself is well kept and maintained, very clean and tidy. They were established in 2003 and have a strong working history. As this is the first Chiropractor I've been to I can't comment on techniques and equipment used, but everything seems to be up to date and in-line with what I'd imagine a professional practice should look like. His website can probably speak to this more than me, this is definitely worth looking at, very detailed and well kept website! Their hours are well balanced and go back and forth between an early morning day to a later evening day, great for squeezing in an appointment before/after work! They do Saturday morning-afternoon as well and it even looks like they have some after hours care and mobile options. All things considered, I would definitely recommend visiting Cummings Chiropractic Family Wellness!

THINK TWICE before purchasing a Dealfind voucher for this clinic!!…read more You will be treated like a second class citizen and placed on a waitlist (ie: cancellation list) if you have a voucher but if you pay full price as a new client, then you will be fast tracked and can book in immediately. As a person who works in health care, I find this two-tiered approach appalling. I purchased the voucher because I was still searching for a decent massage therapist/clinic and Dealfind's offer seemed like a good way to try out various providers for quality and techniques. But I am a firm believer that patients should never be treated as second class based on the ability to pay -- I guess they forgot that I have already prepaid! I have already decided that regardless of the quality of massage service that I hopefully someday will receive here (if I am ever able to redeem my voucher since there are 40-50 Dealfind customers ahead of me), I will not be returing to the clinic again out of pure principle. Prepaid service should never mean second class service.

The doctors are nice gentlemen as well, but I'm not quite sure about their approach to business. On my first visit, They tried to "sell" me a care plan to try and make it cheaper for me, thing is, it will suck up your benefits within three months if you go on it. Which will leave you having to pay out-of-pocket for the rest of the year, at least with my plan that only covers $800/yr that being "special services" Chiro, Physio & massage all wrapped into one. The service is good, but when I'm getting charged $55 per visit, I'm hoping to have some sort of privacy and more than a five minute visit with one small crack coming from my back. The face-to-face customer service from the dr. Is a little hard pressed when your face is already into a bed before he even walks in. There's no real discussion before he starts adjusting you about how your back is doing. Your face is already in the bed. There's a stranger 5 feet away from you on another bed and you can hear everything about their life and their condition. Lack of privacy in a doctor's office is new to me and not really the way I like to do my personal doctor appointments. The doctor is nice but again more time I feel should be spent with the patient and in a much more private setting for confidentiality reasons.

I'll be forever grateful to Dr. Jerry (Smuszko) for the care and healing I've received from him…read more I suffered from severe headaches most of my life. At the age of 5 or 6, (before seatbelt laws) I was thrown around the backseat of a car in a side collision. I believe this became the root cause of several health issues although weather changes increased the intensity of my headaches.  In my late thirties I had (3) rear-end car accidents in less than (4) years) that caused back and neck whiplash injuries.  Fast forward 40 years ...the soft tissue damage healed but I struggled regularly with severe headaches.  As time went on these headaches grew into migraines that became insufferable and more frequent. Each occurrence kept me bedridden for 12 to 30 hours before subsiding. During migraine attacks the pain was so excruciating it caused a stabbing pain through and behind one eye, horrible nausea, and intolerance to the slightest peep of light.  Since I couldn't function, I slept for most of the migraine duration. Painkillers only took a slight edge off the pain even when it was taken at the very onset. The pain wouldn't subside until my stomach 'exploded' through vomit.  This agony was endured for the better part of 20 years with the frequency increasing every year.  It was during one of my migraine episodes that Dr. Jerry (Smuszko) popped onto my Facebook feed with a message of hope to migraine sufferers.  The call I made that day changed my life. It has been almost (3) years since I became one of Dr. Jerry 's patients.   Dr. Jerry's a MASTER in treating migraine trauma. From the onset of his treatment, I've been completely free from chronic migraines. One exception only.... during a fight with Covid 19.  To be healed has been beyond my wildest hopes or expectation!  Now my spinal health care has gone past curing the migraines.  It's reduced body inflammation, stomach issues and given me far more energy.  My current treatment is plan is 'maintenance mode' to keep my spine in order.  I feel healthier than ever...and I enjoy life far more than in my younger years. If you suffer from migraines I highly recommend Dr. Jerry.

The adjustments are good and solid. None of this pussy-footing around that other clinics do. How would I know this if I've been going here since way-back-when you may ask? When I was in university in Ottawa I had some studying related back/neck problems and tried to find a good chiro there. Trying chiropractors looking for a good solid adjustment was very hard. Not only this, a person generally wants a doc with a good bed-side manner too, no? After numerous attempts, lets say I had to settle on a not-so-bad chiro out east until I got back home. Anyhow - a couple of years ago (going on 4??) Dr. Carson Smith took over the biz from Ladell Sr. In doing so, he updated and expanded the office space, took on better clinical staff and expanded the services they now provide. Pretty damn cool to see. Despite all these changes, the level of service and treatment has remained constant, if not improved. Dr. Carson is vibrant, full of helpful information and up to speed on the latest studies in the industry. With a bubbly 'table-side' manner and all the services to help his clients holistically at his fingertips, this guy basically rocks it. I've given several personal referrals to friends, family & co-workers to this clinic and have heard all good things. If you are new to town or new to chiropractic treatment - check him out.

However, based on a recent injury and suggestion by a physio that I see a chiro, here I am. I wouldn't have had a clue where to start looking for one that I'd trust. Thankfully, a friend who has received effective treatment by one of the clinic's practitioners, Dr. Scot Ladell, recommended that I try him out. I actually sent a few friends to him based on my other friend's recommendation and they both had rave reviews, further encouraging me to see him. So far, two thumbs up for Dr. Ladell. He plays sports like I do and shares the same mindset, which is "Hurry up and fix me so I can get back at it." As Sylvie C. said, there's no pussy-footing around. I've had two adjustments so far and while I realize my issue will take time to resolve, I was already performing better the day after the first treatment than I had when I injured myself the week before. Adjustment two made even more of a difference. My appointments have not started on time, but if Dr. Ladell is treating his other patients the way I'm being treated, then he is completely forgiven. My experience is that he takes his time to ensure all of my questions are answered and that I'm comfortable with what's going on. I do not feel rushed and despite the fact that I was a total drama queen during my first appointment, he made me feel okay about it. Front reception staff are very personable and I like that music is playing throughout the entire clinic, including Dr. Ladell's treatment room. Parking on the west side of Chinook Mall, just outside of The Bay entrance, is really handy. 20/30 for Yelp's 30 Day Challenge
