So for anyone who keeps aprised of my other reviews I like beer, I like takeaways, I like putting food and drink in my face and that food and drink likes to then make a home just about... here (for anyone not spying on me while I write this review, I'm making hand gestures around the belly area or what I like to call the human water bottle padded hugging zone)
Now when I was heavily into kickboxing that wasn't a problem, I could eat I could drink and punching n kicking people offset such things, but then I moved away from my club and but I still eat and drink 'mostly' like I used to.
This is a very pleasant story Toby but what does it all mean... I'm a fatty, it means I'm a fatty, it was a sugar coated tale of my weight gain meant to distract from the such things.
So I looked for a Gym to join, I had a gander at all the prices and some places made me cringe though I'm sure they are lovely places, then I weighed up, do I need a sauna, do I need a pool, what do I actually want.
Weights, Cardio machines, open space, good price...
a few friends already go to Pure, so I figured I'd give it a go, joyfully a work code means no signing up fee.
Signing up is rapid, even if you decide on the day that you're going as your code to get you into the gym is emailed to you as soon as you've finished the registration online so good for the impulsive.
Pure ticks most of my boxes, lots of Weights & cardio machines, though the place is very busy unsurprisingly straight after work but you can find enough equipment free. Though one work colleague makes sure he goes at odd hours as he has a very specific workout regime so can't afford to go during busy times.
Open space, friend I'm going there with we both want to get back into sparring, Pure's not really great for that, there's not much in the way of open space, but on the plus that's because the place is packed with equipment.
Not been enough yet to say whether the staff are approachable or not, spoken to two so far and both very different, one friendly one not so much :p so who knows.
Definitely feels like a place that, if you've not been before and don't really know anything about Gyms, probably best to go with a friend. read more
