Others I know have hired people to wash their windows inside and out. Some have not-so-great stories and some have GREAT stories. This is one of the GREAT stories. I've used Angie's list to look for contractors and it's been an absolute disappointment in every way. So, since I'm an Elite Yelper, I decided to give my own platform a try to see what I could come up with. I went to the YELP page and clicked on the "Projects" tab. I put my needs in a quote request and within 3 hours, I had my first two quotes. The third company took two days to get back to me, so needless to say, I struck that one off the list. Cezar & Paula Chavez are a husband/wife team. They own All-Shine Window Cleaning. They gave me a quote that was comparable to the other business that gave me a quote, but this business was different. They were enthusiastic, explained their services and what to expect, then gave me a quote and explained everything that I could expect. They are also independently owned which gave me an opportunity to give back to the community where I live. They arrived on the day of the appointment at 9:00 am: right on time. I am really a stickler on this one. I met Cezar and then walked him through the house showing which windows needed to be cleaned. Then, he and his wife, Paula, worked their magic. They were so meticulous. Paula did the inside of the windows, including the sills and Cezar did the outside. They are a great team. I can't tell you how pleased I was with their work ethic and finished job. I'll definitely use them again, but this time, I won't wait so long between window cleanings.

"Streak free" is what is advertised but is sure not what I received. "Detailed work", nope, not…read morethat either. When the kid & I spoke on the phone and I mean KID. Bryson can't be more than 17-18 years old. He quoted $325 for inside & outside of windows along with window frames & all screens to be cleaned. I told him I had 12 windows & we set a time. The positive was, he was prompt & responsive but not very friendly. Didn't respond much & had a lot of excuses. He came alone which was odd for such a big house. I asked if he was alone & he said yes, his co-workers were somewhere but I don't remember where. He asked if I could help him out by removing screens for him. Thought that's what I was paying him to do! I removed several screens with a butter knife & a lil effort. He could have easily done this. First red flag. Then he blew one of my windows completely off into my room & I had to clean up all the water. He didn't jump in to do it or even try & help. No apology either. He said "that's never happened before" & got the window back in the track. Said the windows should've been locked. Okay then why didn't you lock them? Didn't know this was going to be a job I was now going to have to do as well! He then he has completed the job and not one screen has been cleaned nor placed back on the windows. There are smudge marks on some of the windows. One of them I point out is rather high & he said he didn't have a ladder & asked if I had one. I can't make this up! I explained to him when I pay for a service, I expect that he brings the tools to do the job. I show him more streaks that he can get to. He attempts to clean one in my bedroom & just made it even worse. I told him we're done at that point. He left the gate open & my dog got out. I asked about cleaning the window frames, he said those were tracks & he "doesn't like to do them" but charges additional for them. I told him since I did not get the full service we discussed over the phone I wasn't paying the full amount. He offered a $30 discount & I didn't feel that was enough. I paid him $50 less but I tell you, I don't even think that was worth it! The kid walked out without saying a word even though I was still speaking kindly to him & wishing him a good day. I saw him throwing a temper tantrum & throwing supplies in his truck like, pitching them in there. He left one of his rags on my front lawn. I texted him about it & he never responded. I give credit to this kid for being ambitious & starting his own business at such a young age but he clearly has a lot to learn still. He said it took him 3 hours so he still made $91 an hour. That's pretty darn good for not doing a thorough & complete job OR doing everything he promised. I had to put screens back on windows, wipe up streaks that I could actually get to & clean tracks, not to mention pick up the rag left in the front yard. I hope this is a lesson learned for him to do better but beware of this company, I don't recommend it.

The top banister railing had to be replace with pressure treated wood which needed to be seasoned before staining. Bryan said he would come back this year and put the stain on that part. HE NEVER DID. I CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES asking for update last phone call I did told the office personnel if I knew what the stain was I could do it myself. She said she would get with Bryan and give me an update by 5 pm on the 8/16 which never did happen. I tried to call on 8/17 the phone call would not go thru. I called on a different phone the call went thru. I asked her if she had blocked my phone she HUNG UP ON ME. I sent an email to the email I had on file. EMAIL BLOCKED. Is this good business practice? NO IT IS NOT.
