What a great workout! My first Pure Barre class and boy was it intense. It's a small studio with the main lobby for check in, a few items for sale, the barre room, and a couple restrooms in the back. The small movements were intense and I worked up a light sweat. It was easy to follow the instructions from the instructor as well as watch others to help me follow along. My name is Bethlehem. Pure Barre is one of the greatest thing that changed my life in positive way. I Joined PBC on February 2024. When I signed up for my first class, I was very nervous and shy. I went not knowing what to do. I went just for try out to see if i like it or not. After the first class i bought the 4 classes for one month. I like the classes so much i end up buying the unlimited. All of the instructors were/are friendly, very knowledgable and helpful. In my first class i met Amber and Rachel. They introduced them self to me. Both were very sweet. Rachel advised me to sit next to Amber who was giving the class that morning so it was easier for me to follow along. The studio makes me feel welcome and loved of course the same time I know for sure it has changed my bod. I feel more confident. The studio is super clean and all the equipment was in great shape. Where do I even begin?! Words simply can NOT describe how hard I've fallen for Pure Barre Crofton! I've been "tucking" with these phenomenal owners, instructors & clients since the studio opened in the fall of 2015. After a week straight of classes, I was hooked. After after a few months, I hit 50 classes & the changes in my body were amazing. I was stronger, leaner, felt better. In February, I hit my 100th class. My clothes were smaller, my energy was higher, my endurance longer. Today, I'm almost to 175 classes & guess what? My muscles are still guessing! No plateau, no boredom, no halt of results! The instructors & owners of PBC work hard to keep our bodies working & our minds motivated. The ENERGY IS PHENOMENAL. Betsy's 6am classes are better than a cup of coffee! She's the BEST WAY TO START YOUR DAY!!! If you're struggling, her energy is a breath of fresh air. Kate & Laura are two of the most professional & knowledgable business owners I've ever met. They've created a place where our PBC family feels encouraged, motivated & excited to be as often as possible! The studious also gorgeous, clean & has a beautiful atmosphere. There's even a coffee & tea bar for after (or before, haha) your classes. The equipment is always in tip top condition, the mirrors sparkle like diamonds & the music is always on point! Their prices are very comparable to similar class prices in the area if not lower! They are also constantly offering sales, deals & promotions. Not convinced yet? Come try your first class! "Buyer beware" - even before handing over $100 for a trial month! I'm updating my review after having taken a couple more classes and giving them another star. You need to be armed with the facts to make your own decision. I personally will not sign up for a full membership, despite the fact that the technique is excellent. First, know that you will love the look and feel of the place. Do not be blinded. This of course is part of a well-honed marketing strategy, but the marketing has overlooked (or ignored) a couple of critical elements of what makes for an injury-free and good studio: 1) The floor is a concrete slab with thin carpet on top. That's obvious. While the Pure Barre method is no impact, your knees will know you're on concrete when you're on them. Any serious studio will have a raised floor or at least thick cushioning. You're not on your pool-side patio - this should be professional-grade exercise mat, especially for the price. 2) There are mirrors only on one side of the room. If you are on the opposite bar, you can gaze at cool art and a pretty pickled grey wooden wall - but you won't be able to see the instructor to know what to do. You'll have to rely on your neighbor to know what's going on, and then he or she may not be doing the exercises correctly, and precision is key. Since instructors don't always think to call out instructions, you can't rely on that. Or you can be a freak and be the only one to turn around with your back toward the barre and holding on in an awkward position, so that you can face the other side of the room to see the instructor. Mirrors on both sides are more important than hip art and popular color scheme and decor. 3) The music and microphones are loud - part of the marketing ethos at least in Crofton. Not loud like driving in your car happy "loud," but LOUD like the mosh pit of a concert, except that concert speakers are rarely overdriven like they are at Pure Barre. This is painful and stupid -- I'm supposed to be motivated, not deafened. The problem varies from instructor to instructor. The only class that was reasonable was Kate's and she's an owner. Too bad she teaches so few classes a week. 4) If you try to give feedback about the volume to at least one instructor - the one who teaches ALL the morning classes, Betsy - she will summarily dismiss you and tell you to take another class. Trust me, I tried to have a conversation but she was so arrogant that I gave up and left. No clue what what the term "customer care" means. She may not agree, but she should at least listen and not be a smiling, self-inflated bobblehead. As if it makes her feel more important to treat people like she's the queen and you, peon, may take a hike! I am not a rude person. I could not believe the exchange. 5) If you try to contact the owners to talk about a problem like Betsy, don't expect to get a call back. I know this because I wrote to the corporate offices and asked them to have the owner contact me to resolve an issue. I told them that I preferred not to explain the nature of my complaint to them because I wanted to work it out with the local owner. They emailed me and told me that they had passed the message along and that I would hear back soon. It never happened. I'm sure that was because the owners had my name and a record of the class, and they already knew that I had complained to the instructor about the volume. So now corporate is going to get this entire review. If you don't mind paying $200 a month to put up with all this, then yes, the workout is excellent. I was going to buy earplugs and kneepads because I liked the workout so much, but then I realized how ridiculous that was. Not to mention the attitude. I'm going to look for a pilates class where being a hipster isn't Goal One. read more

They don't lie when Pure Barre faithfuls tell you that you'll be hooked after just a few classes! I enjoy coming daily as a stress reliever and time to focus on myself and my body. Pure Barre Crofton is a fantastic studio with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, energetic and friendly instructors, and fantastic barre essentials (clothing, jewelry, etc.)! I am lucky and fortunate to have met Kate and Laura and stumbled into their studio back in October 2015 when it opened. They are passionate about their job and it shows through their classes, their teachers, and the clients who keep coming back for more (sore but we want more)!! Get in and try a class. Wow what a workout! I've attended only 2 classes, and I was completely lost when it came to the Pure Barre lingo. I just roll with it!! The instructors are very friendly, supportive and patient. The studio is very clean, and they sell great merchandise from clothing, socks (you need grippy socks while in the studio) snacks and water. They have a free introductory class for one week for all new students who are interested in Pure Barre. Memberships are expensive, but the way I feel about that is this is an investment for a better me. LIFT...TONE...BURN! That is Pure Barre! read more

I've been a member of Pure Barre Crofton for about 2.5 years now and I can't imagine my life without it. The workouts are always changing and never easy, which I love. Pure Barre has done wonders for my back pain as it strengthens your core, back muscles, and improves your posture. I also love the community that I have become a part of. I am absolutely addicted to Pure Barre! I have always enjoyed trying out new exercise classes and have done pretty much everything from martial arts to yoga but PB is something different. After my first class 10 months ago, I signed up for the entire year and have been getting stronger with every class. The instructors are awesome and really push you beyond what you thought you could do. The music helps keep your energy high & there is a real community feel, esp at the 6am class! I have been coming to this location for 2 years and can't get enough! The technique is amazing. The instructors are well trained, friendly and, most important for a beginner, patient! They offer a range of class times from 5am until 7pm so I can always fit in my workout. Classes are always challenging, but that is how you see results.
