The leadership of the studio has a clear vision for the organization. Cleveland City Dance serves a mission of making dance available to all sorts of dancers. They go an extra mile to share the benefits of dance not only with the families and dancers at the studio, but beyond. For example, now that the intensity of Covid has lessened, dancers are performing again in community outreach settings in different parts of the city. I truly believe that this organization teaches high quality, well informed dance technique in a thoughtful, intelligent way.

Beautiful sets, Opulent costumes, Lyrical music and, of course, some of the best dancing on earth. My favorites were the little snowflakes and the tiny mice. They were so cute. Great job En Pointe Danse! The show was held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium which, though still beautiful, has seen better days. I wonder if there is a fund to cover costs of renovations? We bought our tickets on Groupon at a very reasonable rate. Downtown Cleveland was beautiful with all the lights, skating rink and bustle of people. Great to see so many folks out enjoying our great city! I believe Moscow Ballet comes every year. Next year...check it out and see our local talent as well. To start off the customer service for this place is iniquitous. They feel that no matter what they…read moreare right and you are wrong. They have charged people random amounts as nothing seems to be in order with this place. There is always some form of drama. They allow their employees to talk to paying customers any kind of way and be disrespectful towards you. I have experienced the owners being disrespectful first hand when all I did was try and have a conversation regarding my child and not the events that happened before hand as I was not there when they occurred. Other parents that know intimately about certain situations even feel that the business is run shadily. The owners along with staff are facinorous and all should take a course on customer service. There is no wonder student turnover is so high with this place. After a season of being disrespected most parents opt to take their children elsewhere (as we have) where you'll be respected and valued. I asked about a refund regarding a payment that was made and was told to read the contract. I asked if I could receive a copy of the said contract and was not provided 1. I was not included with the original conversations and when the account was created so I did not have access. This proves that they are greedy thieves as they will threaten to call the police and refuse to act as adults when trying to deal with a situation. Jonathan is very contemptuous and doesn't listen to understand he only hears you speaking waiting to have a rebuttal to the conversation. Him and his wife are not on the same page and are saying 2 different things when speaking with them. They constantly talk over you as you are trying to speak with them. This is no way to have a conversation with some one that is paying you for a a service. His wife has threatened a previous instructor in front of parents and students and the police was involved asking my family questions about the situation so for them to act as if there has not been anything prior and all has been perfect is BS (a FOIA request could be made for the report that was opened). I have asked that they remove any images or likeness of my daughter off of their social media pages with no response but I am sure after this they will have something to say regarding. If she was outed from the school then I don't want her affiliated in any way or for her videos and pictures to be posted with them. I have been nothing but calm and respectful in this whole ordeal even when they were being disrespectful towards me. This is my first and thank god last interaction with this establishment as I could NEVER support a business where I pay good money and they feel they can talk to you and treat you however they see fit. They have threatened legal action for a review being left stating FACTS which the receipts are there for. I'm sure they'll state I was rude and disrespectful BUT I have the entire interaction recorded to have proof as well as having a witness on the phone with me while I had the conversation. Since Ohio is a single party state this is something that is not illegal and I can post if they say anything other than the truth. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! PS- If you want to take legal action against me for speaking up and for this review then do as you see fit. I have the necessary resources and evidence. Threats don't scare me and this is just my experience with you all. Freedom of speech is a great thing as it allows me to say what I want as long as there are no threats made. The favoritism is flagrant and pervasive; if you are not in competition or the child of a staff member, you will be blatantly ignored. Additionally, the atmosphere was openly hostile. I was bullied by both adults and other children there because I was not as proficient as the competition girls. The instructors were openly cruel to both me and others who did not fit their image, and my peers were often worse. I spent over a decade at AADBK, and I left feeling burned out, insecure, and devalued. My love for dance suffered immensely because the environment was toxic, not inspiring. Lori Messner at the front desk is the only one employed there who is worth any of your time. Kristen is a greedy woman who encourages this environment and should not be allowed to work with children. Your money will be better spent literally anywhere else, and you won't spend half as much as this place charges.

So I will list the issues I had. 1) On the first day that I took my 2 1/2 year old there were no signs saying what to do and there were no introductions from the teacher or owner, because of this my daughter missed the first 10 minutes because we were standing there trying to figure out what to do. 2) There is absolutely no way of seeing how your child is doing. There are no cameras or double windows. I don't know these people and a 2 1/2 year old doesn't understand if something inappropriate is happening. 3) The teacher and owner both have attitudes. I peaked into the room once and the week prior so did my husband to make sure she was ok. The teacher came out to tell me very snippily that I was disturbing her class. When I approach her and the owner afterwards she was beyond rude. I politely said I'm not trying to be rude or disturb your class but you have to understand you have my 2 1/2 year old behind close doors, I don't know you and I was never given an introduction to explain the rules and how the class is conducted. 4) The owner only communicates by texts. She sent me a 6 text message after the incident instead of calling me, and I was unable to respond at the time. Then the day before her next dance class, on a Sunday no less, she spent me another text saying she was sending me a refund and that I was not welcome back. All because I was putting my child's safety first. 5) The parking is her driveway and the first class she had the one class ending while the other was to being it was total chaos. I highly recommend that you consider a different place to take your children to learn to dance.
