This gym is gross. And I mean truly filthy and disgusting. It's never been to the crispy level of…read moreother corporate gyms, but this might be the worst I've ever been to. Sure for a long time they have had issues with many folk on the regular who never wipe down equipment and refuse to put back weights and the like. Those people have never been policed, though we all know who they are. That is a fixable cultural problem though. I hope new management can take care of such as easy problem to remedy. No one has tried in years, but it's time. Now though, new leadership has taken away sanitary wipes. It was replaced with a clear spray no more effective than plain water. It did nothing. As you can imagine, the gym quickly grew smelly and rank. Weights and equipment became slimy to the touch. Having my own sanitary wipe on hand you can see the dramatic side by side of effectiveness (pics included). We began living in our bacteria and fungus. Complaints took forever for replies and fixes. They did replace the spray liquid with something slightly better, but still without the effectiveness from before. The district manager me assured me this liquid is effective and industry standard. Gaslighting that my eyes were lying to me and results I see from wiping aren't really happening. Also a logical fallacy in comparison. It does not matter where it's used, what matters is actual effectiveness and the pictures don't lie. I wish they were truthful and said these paper towels and new liquid were simply just cheaper. You know, a simple, "we don't care about your cleanliness and health. It's a just a money decision". Real talk would be appreciated. This is a small, but rapidly growing town and it won't be long before another gym comes in. The town will surely remember how we were treated and disregarded and then leave. Then we can see this boneheaded financial decision in action. I will finish this review to drive home that this place still smells, it's still slimy, the district manager blames it on the staff (I can share the email) but it starts from the top. Dropped in to a class on a weekday. Was able to sign up and pay online ahead of time, and then I…read morecould see the workout. Luckily it was a wheelhouse workout for me. I showed up ten minutes early- there was plenty of parking. When I walked in, there were members everywhere and no one behind the desk. I saw the iPad and signed myself in. They have some cubbies where I placed my belongings. I started stretching and saw the white board and upcoming activities etc. Soon, the head coach introduced herself to me and it seems she saw my check in earlier. Some of the members said hello and introduced themselves to me. The warmup was group led and was good. We had a strength session and then the WOD. The strength session was fun. Their weights are the really bouncy ones which took some getting used to. There was plenty of space for all of us to feel safe in the workout. They have a varied membership with women, men, kids and young adults. I had a good workout. They put my name on the board. I checked out the merch on my way out- not much there. But I took a selfie and that's good for now. I would come back. There is another CrossFit gym nearby but their drop in fee is $25. At Punta Gorda, it's $20. And now I'm following them on IG.

They are actively working on adding new equipment, just got an Arsenal pendulum squat machine. Front desk has been on top of everything as well, friendly and staffed until 8pm every day with 24 hour access for members. Hroup classes include jui jitsu, Zumba, yoga, and strength and conditioning. They also opened up a posing room for 360 degree view of your physique, adding lots of support for the local and visiting bodybuilders. Best personal training in the area! This is THE best gym in the area!!

I asked the guy before I signed up and after explaining that I was seasonal (here for 6 months a year) could I place it on hold and would I be charged anything? I was told no charge while on hold, just come in and let us know. So when I did, I was told for the first time you have to give a 30 day notice. So I will be charged $10. X 2 weeks. Then it will be $5. each month it's on hold. Then when the year is up, I will automatically be charged for renewal. I explained I did not want to renew. Then it was explained that I could only stop the auto renewal by canceling. You can only cancel by sending a form by email to home office. You can't do that at the gym. The cancellation notice I received by email states there is a $50. cancellation fee! ‍I did call customer service and got the cancellation fee waved after a long discussion. The gym is nice and clean.
