I've had less-than-good service here a few times now. I've been told by a member of staff that the frames I chose were big enough for vari-focals to be fitted but when it came to the fitting later on, the other staff member said they were too small and I'd have to choose all over again! Then, on another occasion, once I had the 'correct' frames, I was told that I wouldn't need to opt for the 'thinner' lenses because the ordinary ones would be thin enough. Well, they turned out to be too thick, just as I'd feared, but it was too late to change my mind. Another time, the staff promised to phone me about some frames I wanted to order but they never did! So, all this is why I will try another branch of Specsavers next time I need glasses - or a different opticians altogether (I haven't decided yet).

Oh dear. What an uninspiring experience! We arranged a contact lens trial, but, when we turned up…read morefor the fitting, were surprised to be told that they needed to order the lenses in first. We felt that we'd had a wasted journey, as they'd had the prescription in advance, ie, long enough to order trial lenses. They promised to call on Mon/Tue the following week, but didn't, so I phoned to ask if the lenses had arrived. We were told that they had and that we could come in for a fitting without making an appointment. However, when we went to the counter, we were told that we needed to make an appointment after all. (Hence, wasted journey no.2). We won't be going back, as it was quite clear to us that they were woefully inefficient and had zero respect for our time. I think the store needs a decent manager, as it seems that the tail is wagging the dog.
