Arrived here from the State of Washington. There were 9 of us for dinner. The service was absolutely fantastic! Daniel Hurtado (I asked this man for his name as we left) was our waiter, he was so attentive to all of us even the children. He went above and beyond. The food was absolutely delicious! They had a menu that had anything and everything you'd ever want to eat. Everyone there was very nice, including the other patrons who were there eating. One woman got up and asked if she could take pictures of all of us so I was included. (I was taking pictures) she came over said "let me take them so you're in the pictures as well. This is an authentic Mexican restaurant right by our hotel (HGI-Anderson). It took me a long time to make the decision on dinner choice since they have so many good options to choose from. I picked Tostadas (2x) with shrimp and pulpo (octopus). They were fresh and delicious. The chips and salsa are also great. The waiter told us that they have a Salsa Bar and that was awesome! Love the mango salsa. They should promote this special trick right after they serve the chips and salsa. I love this place! read more

Clean and nice! Bueno! Best of all the Mexican restaurants in Anderson but I still have issues with the microwaved pre made plates that are made well before they're heated and served. I think they are made in the same place and distributed to all of the restaurants... but this is one of the cleanest if not the cleanest around read more

Food and margaritas are always great! Not junk that has been sitting around in a warmer and all dried out or worse, swimming in oil. Wait staff are as great as their food, especially Nicholas, Angela, and Daniel!! Try them if you haven't been, you will be glad you did! read more

The salsa bar here is fantastic! I thought that Papa's and Beer had a good salsa bar. This place beats it! Try the tocayo and the mango for a real treat. I had the lunch shrimp fajitas and it was a great dish. I'd come here a bunch if I lived in the area. read more

Wow wow ! This place definitely has authentic flavors. Coming from someone who grew up eating this type of food I have to say it reminded me of our flavors. Staff was SUPER friendly and welcoming. Honestly such great service which made the whole experience even better. The kids have a great selection of food to order from and that's from 12 years and younger. My daughter had the enchilada with beans and rice and she devoured it! My son had the shrimp quesadilla and that was gone in seconds. I decided to get the quesabirria and it was so tasty. The consomé was very flavorful and the tortilla was crispy. My fiancé had the mojarra and that in itself was fried perfectly. They have a salsa bar in the back that has a lot of different types of salsas that are super authentic and flavorful. The place is very clean and pleasant with tons of space and comfortable booths. I'm so happy I took a peak at other 5 star raving reviews and I definitely agree this is the spot for good Mexican food. read more

We went here last week while visiting the area for a USPSA match. Stopped in here as it was close to our hotel. That was a mistake. The service was good, we were seated in the bar, so it was loud, the place was clean enough. The food, however, was a huge disappointment. I had the pollo fundido ... an interesting take ... I had burnt chicken chunks rolled in a tortilla with white sauce .. no cream cheese or anything you might expect. One was burnt white meat and the other burnt dark meat. The chips were from a bad and the salsa was too wet to be Fram a jar. The guac, however, was pretty darn good. But, the server and guac don't make up for the food, which was just not good. read more

The restaurant menu is very large. They have lunch specials. They serve a lot of food for the price. The beef burrito was very filling, mild on spice, served With guacamole and pico de gallo, refried beans and Spanish rice. I hade the chili relleno with beef enchiladas served with rice and refried beans. Mine Was a combo that I recommend if you want to try different items. They serve chips and a medium Spivey salsa. The service was very slow (there were my table and One other in the dining room) and we waited a long for the check. Comparable to any other Mexican restaurant. No surprises. read more

We were on our way back from Greenville and decided to stop for some lunch. We were headed to Outback since it was one of the only non fast food options. We saw Puerto Nuevo and decided to stop there. GREAT DECISION! Some of the best Mexican food we have had. They offer a salsa bar with many different options. We had Dos Pelones and Tacos Puerto Nuevo, they were DELICIOUS! The portions were very large, so we could have split something, but now we have leftovers! HUGE menu and service was wonderful. We stopped in here on our way home from Georgia. My husband and I were traveling with our adult daughter and 2 of our granddaughters ages 5 and 2 years old. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. They took our drink order while we decided what eat. Once our order was placed our food came out pretty quickly. Everything was absolutely delicious. Puerto Nuevo Anderson is a great Mexican restaurant. Typically I get pork fajitas and today I also ordered a tostada mixta with pulpo (octopus) as an appetizer. We had such a good time here tonight. As always, the food was amazing as were the paloma cocktails. There was an actual live mariachi band performing tonight throughout the restaurant. The instruments were authentic and beautifully decorated and nice costumes and personable performers added to the ambience. I hope the place does this again. What a nice and quiet place to dine. Inside is very clean, the service was impecable. Its fairly new to the location, and seems to be off to a great start.
