For 7 Euros, you can take a walk through the 3 story house, tower and walk through the garden and surrounding areas. The house is a bit "small" so it might be a bit tight to navigate (especially the spiraling staircase) if there are several other visitors. The views inside are quite breath-taking and inspirational. While the house has been renovated, I think it was a bit overdone. I dunno, but for me, it felt like the house was constructed in the late 2000s rather than in the late 1800s. I understand that renovating a historical landmark is a necessity; however, in this case, I feel the renovation over-modernized it. Who knows, perhaps that is the point. While the capricho has guided tours, it's easy enough walk through the museum on your own. I do not think that I would go super far out of my way specifically for this museum. However, it was a nice add-on to spending a few hours in Comillas.

Jesus Otero was a well known Spanish Sculptor from Santillana del Mar. He's a "Favourite Son" of…read moreCantabria and his works often concentrate on nature and animals. Many his works can be seen right here at this Museum and Garden just off the Church plaza, and were donated by him just before his death in 1994. . There's also a Bison sculpture just across from the Parador, a cute drinking goat fountain just outside of town, and a commemoration bench at the Altamira Caves Complex. One thing that Gayle and I particularly enjoy about foreign travel is the chance to discover new cultural works that we were not previously aware. The works of Jesus Otero are definitely worth a look, a little artistic research, and a relaxing stroll through the pretty grounds and interior exhibition space.

The tunnel itself is an awesome piece of civil engineering and I loved the paintings on the walls. Once you come out of the tunnel, you have truly incredible views of the oceans! It's easy, it's flat and you just go as far as you like. The Paseo is lined with some restaurants, Churro Trucks, some art and statues and public toilets. And lots of apartement buildings. If you feel like a quick jump to the water or onto the beach you can access it anytime. And it is a nice beach. Also very long and wide. And surprisingly few visitors - even in summer. A really nice thing to do and great to burn some calories after a hearty meal. Surely we'll be back here.

Hotel rooms were as per our expectations except one. The hotel at Sevilla had overwhelming sewer smell at the reception and the breakfast area.
