They had an incredible array of all things baked goods. They also had good coffee related options as well as what appeared to be a lot of local goods for sale. We had a number of delicious pastries including some very good donuts. Our kids were very excited about the donuts! Prices were very normal and the folks here were very friendly, and we're very effective at communicating with those of us who don't speak much Spanish. The seating area was more than ample and included a number of different options including tables and bar level seating. Worth a stop for a morning pastry or an anytime treat!

From the outside, the establishment looks beautiful and inviting, however don't be fooled because everything that glitters isn't gold. Sold on the idea of bringing home some fresh biscuits for the family to enjoy with a nice cup of tea, I made it a point to stop by La Cure. As you walk by the open front of the "bakery", you are showered by a large display of what appear to be freshly baked cookies and biscuits. The display is large and round allowing you to circle the showcase of over a dozen different delectables. Here is when then get you. A young lady came over and offered us a small cookie that was advertised as one that could be purchased from the display. We tried the sample and immediately knew we should get some. This is where is started going downhill. The cookies and biscuits are purchased by the pound however there are no scales for you to weigh your product. Above the cookies were these beautiful Barcelona tins that would be free if you purchased X pounds of cookies at several Euros per pound. Thinking this would be a deal, we began stuffing our bag with an assortment of cookies to ensure the tin would be free. After being given an estimated "weight per cookie", we believed we had triggered the free time so we headed to the cashier. The cashier then weighs our ~approximately 20 small cookies and the price came out to about $55. $55 dollars for a few biscuits!?!? I figured, well at least the one we tried was tasty and we got the free tin right? No. Absolutely not. After arriving back home the following day, we eagerly opened our tin to share with our morning tea. OMG to say we were disappointed was a major understatement. These were the driest cookies and biscuits I had ever tried in my life. Not at all like the fresh biscuit we were given at the store, one bite turned your mouth into a cement mixer as the cookies disintegrated in your mouth. I honestly had to use a napkin to spit it out. Thinking I maybe had gotten a bad break, I went in for another. Nope. Even worse, I nearly cracked my tooth on the second as it was hard as stone. Not one of my family members had a cookie they enjoyed as they were all hard and dry. Don't be fooled as if the displayed cookies are out in the open because they're fresh out of the oven. For as high as these cookies were stacked in the display case, I'd guess some of them might have been there all year. Please don't waste your money here as they are plenty better real bakeries selling freshly made treats. One star for the beautiful and inviting look to the place.
