Man, I was always told to avoid Central Florida because of the racism, but I had no idea that meeting Becky today would change my whole idea of that my first time here meeting her doing a delivery. She had criticized how I had sorted all the things she had to sort out due to the fact that they were understaffed and no baggers. Once I had another order. I went back to her row to ensure that I would give everything that she wanted in the correct order as I did so she began to mock me, and after I went and started to put away the customers order I was still made fun of by her and peers. She had an issue with my skin color and it was obvious from the tone of her voice from the first time I met her to the second interaction. I'm sad to see Publix employ racist that will critique their own customers and the fact she was proud and not apologetic through the whole issue makes me wonder if that's what this part of Florida is all about prejudice and high archly. I can't believe my experience at this Publix as I've had nothing but great experiences in central Florida. Racism is still alive in these parts and if you come by here I insist keep driving not worth being singled out if you can go to the 711 or another grocery around the area. I'll be calling corporate to report this issue personally. Please avoid Becky and her older friend who were making fun of me due to my skin color and assumption of my age. Publix is a staple of Florida and a great place for a quick bite. I opted for the signature sandwiches located in the deli area. Their breads are what makes the difference here. Always get boars head whenever you can - it does taste better. Shopping is always a pleasure at Publix because everyone is friendly and helpful. read more

Best grocery shopping experience of my life. Everyone in this clean, new, well-stocked store was super helpful and courteous: the door greeter, seafood specialist, restockers, cashier, and cart guy. They caught my eye to offer help (!), and even thanked me at the entrance for bringing my own reusable bags. The employees even cheerfully chatted among themselves while carefully positioning fruit for maximum beauty, and seemed to be enjoying their work. What a refreshing change from DC, where shopping is often a grudging experience for customer and employee alike. A real treasure on the space coast. read more

This is the coldest store, if I had to guess the temperature is below 70 degrees. I noticed the change for quite some time now so possible a new store Manager? It is so unbearable I can hardly shop unless I wear a long sleeve top which is not often given our outside temperatures. I have commented to the staff and they all tell me they literally freeze all day at work and I see customers putting on jackets in the store. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate air conditioning but this is just COLD!!!! read more

You may want to avoid this place. I have been humiliated by an attendant at this pharmacy for no reason other than having an accent, as I am originally from South America. Dawn from the pharmacy made terrible hateful comments, gestures and faces today when I (truly) politely voiced to her my frustration with the pharmacy miscommunication. She throwed her hands in the air while making several patronizing hateful comments. Smiling sarcastically while pointing out made up mistakes in my rhetoric. Here is an example: When I asked if the spelling of her name was "Donna", as she has a strong accent herself, she answered "it's the female version of that in English: Dawn". That doesn't make sense, other than to convey her hate and need to humiliate. If her attitude is acceptable to Publix it likely voices Publix stance as well. If you have an accent, if you are of color, if you are Jewish or gay, don't come here, because if she waits on you, you may be just as humiliated as I was. After almost 20 years residing in this country, 8 as a US citizen, and working lawfully as a Software Architect I have only experienced hatred at this level a few times. Overbaked bread & cookies, thinner fish on their sushi and pre-melted and refrozen ice cream. I come here a lot since it's nearby, but I know Publix can do much better -- their location in Melbourne on US 192 doesn't have the above problems. I wish they had a self checkout line. read more

Not really a review but an experience. I was at this publix and quickly noticed that there was mostly elderly shopping here. Honestly I didnt see even one child in this store. When I went to check out this very old man in front of me who had to be 90 or older demanded to pay for his food with change. Just my luck. read more

This is a great Publix. Everyone is always very friendly and ready to help out. They remember familiar local faces well. Pharmacy is especially wonderful...I've never had any trouble with my (complex) prescriptions and the pharmacists and assistants are consistently excellent! read more

This location of Publix is one of the worst I've ever been to. Not only are the checkout lines and the deli always super slow, but the "meats" in this store are very questionable. I had a recipe that needed ground pork and there was none in the meat section. So I asked the guys at the meat section if they sell ground pork. They said sure! We're making some right now! Okay...does that mean taking all of the old cuts of pork that didn't sell and grinding it? Because that's what it looked like. The "ground pork" looked like a watery peach colored slush. I ultimately gave it back to the guy because no way I was going to feed my family that mess. A few other points to bring up: the sub sandwiches station never has any fresh vegetable toppings. The tomatoes especially always look so sad, as if they've been sliced and sitting out for several days. The sushi section is horrible; usually it looks so stale that you can tell the edges of the fish are drying. Yeah... The only redeeming quality is that the bakery's bread items are usually pretty fresh. I get that this is a low-traffic store, being located on a less populated part of the barrier island, but come on Publix, please work on your quality control here. read more

Some of the reviews are not fair. The reality is that it's HOT and the cars turn into pizza ovens. If you want your frozen foods to make it to your home still frozen you have to bring a cooler- No matter how close you may live. It would be a modern day miracle if your ice cream didn't melt a little read more

Pharmacy service is really slow. We tried 4 times at non-peak hours to get flu shots, waiting over 30 minutes each time and wait was going to be longer...we finally gave up. Never a counter person in the bakery able to come to counter to get you what you want even waiting and waiting. Staff doesn't "see" you as they walk by. Deleted barely better. This Publix needs a management review. read more

@Michael M....this coming from a guy who wears a tux in his yelp profile! Honestly what does your review have to do with the quality of this supermarket? Who care about your "experience". You are probably likely to find plenty of older patrons during "snowbird" season but quite honestly I don't agree at all with your geriatric characterization. The bottom line is this; Publix has the market cornered here on beachside yet the employees are extremely accommodating, polite, and helpful. The only negative would be the seafood, but hey, who the heck buys seafood from a supermarket chain on the coast of Florida. Pharmacy and the the pharmacists are fantastic. Great bakery, excellent produce and above average meat dept. By the way, if you're still able to get around Publix at 90 and you want to pay with change.... My family and I utilized this Publix during our stay in Melbourne Beach during mid-winter break in February 2019. We were able to find everything that we needed as we have small children to feed as well as people with specific diets including vegetarian and gluten-free. No issues finding things for our group. Found free-range organic eggs, lots of organic produce, coconut milk yogurt, unsweetened almond milk, all things our family eats. We even purchased a cake here for my MILs birthday which turned out to be delicious. The staff was all very friendly including the manager who offered to walk our groceries to our car for us. We politely declined as my husband and I were capable but I was very impressed with the kindness of the staff. read more

If I could give my experience at this Publix negative stars I would in a heartbeat. I was visiting out of town over the weekend for New Years and needed to get a prescription (my birth control) transferred to the Pharmacy. I called the Pharmacy first thing in the morning, gave the Pharmacist, Bob, all of my information and he told me my prescription would be ready by noon for pickup. When I arrived around 1:30pm and got to the counter Bob rudely snapped "It's not ready yet." When I asked if he knew about how long it would be he responded back "I have no idea. I've been taking phone calls all day. I haven't even gotten to that yet. This is why I usually tell people next day when asking for a transfer." to which I reminded him that he had told me over the phone that the prescription would be ready by noon. I asked again if he could give me a time frame of when it would be ready since we drove 30 minutes to come get the prescription and he again told me he didn't know. I asked if they even had my prescription in stock because I didn't want to waste my time coming back if they couldn't even fill it to which he responded with "I have no idea. I just haven't gotten there yet." instead of just taking one second to check the shelves. I left my insurance card at the counter with the tech and went to find my fiance. When I told him what happened he told me we would just get it transferred to another store instead of coming back to this Publix. I walked back to the Pharmacy to get my insurance card and as I was waiting in line, the lady in front of me had just as equally of a bad experience as I had just had. Her prescription wasn't ready and Bob had no idea when it would be ready. The lady attempted to make a joke to lighten the mood by saying "You're going to be back here by yourself all day? Can I come back there and help you?!" to which Bob rudely responded "What? No. You can't do that." She then asked him if she could call and see if the prescription was ready before coming down. Bob replied with "What? I can't hear you. I don't know what you're saying." so she walked closer to where Bob was sitting and said it again. He then told her "You need to hold on. I'm on the phone." After Bob got off the phone the lady asked one more time if she could call and see if her prescription was ready before coming back and got the lovely response from Bob of "Sure. Yeah, you can call. I doubt I will answer though." When I finally got back up to the counter I requested my insurance card back and advised that I would be getting the prescription transferred somewhere else and that they did not need to call my pharmacy any longer. This whole experience was so awful that I thought about it for a good 24 hours after. I understand that it was New Years Eve and he was slammed and behind and his tech was leaving for the day. I understand being stressed out at work. What I don't understand is how someone can be so blatantly rude to the people who actually give him the job that he has! If he continues to be rude to his customers why on earth would people keep coming back to fill their prescriptions here? I thought this awful experience was over after I walked out of Publix but it actually continued through yesterday evening. When I got back home in Ormond Beach I went to my pharmacy to finally get my prescription. The tech told me there was nothing on file for me. When I told her that my doctor called it in on Friday she looked again and, sure enough, my prescription was transferred to good old Bob!!! I understand that it is just birth control and luckily not something that is life saving for me but that being said, you CANNOT mess around with someones medications just to be an a**hole. I specifically told him not to call and get the prescription transferred and he still did!! Please, do yourself a favor, do not go to this Publix pharmacy if you have any hope of being treated with kindness and respect. read more

This has got to be the slowest publix I've ever been to. I stood in the deli department for 10 minutes while there was only one person ahead of me in line. There were 3 or 4 people cutting meat. So while waiting I just put in a mobile order to be ready in 20 minutes and did my other shopping. Well 10 minutes past the time it was supposed to be done and it wasn't there so I just left. The publix by me has my mobile orders done 10 minutes BEFORE pick up. I guess I need to put in my mobile order an hour in advance. read more
