Publix is clean and has very helpful staff. I also love that you can get them to customize bakery items and meat. If you want 2 rolls or 1/2 a loaf of bread, the employees will break up a larger bag into what you want and repackage it with the reduced price. They will also do this with meat, cutting larger packages into smaller ones and repricing the package. All you have to do is ask. If you follow the sales, they are competitive with big box grocery stores, cleaner, and overall more pleasant to shop at. read more

What is up with this Publix? The worst one we have ever been to, you get a mixture of employees, some are nice, but some are super rude and don't get me wrong I've seen costumers here (who I don't believe are locals) act rude, so sometimes I give the employees grace, understanding how they have to deal with snowbirds all day but you can't treat everyone like that when they come in. This publix is small, only one in the area so there's zero competition, again like Walmart in Lecanto this creates negligent managers whom probably don't care so much about the "smaller" things. Honestly there just needs to be another Publix built in this area, I've called the manager to complain before about an incident that happened with my young child per an employee who made a rude joke and it was met with "she's just joking, I apologize." No one expects perfection but the joke really bothered my kid. It was when she said the total and told my 5 year old "see how expensive you are." That is not funny at all, especially when you have a super intelligent child who takes these things to heart. Yes the manager apologized but it also just seemed like it was rolling me off. Again this doesn't reflect the whole store but like I said with the rudeness, you're kinda lucky if you get a hello how are you, I'll exclude the ladies in the bakery who always say hello to my kids and go out of there way to give them a cookie, very sweet ladies in the bakery. I have no idea what's going on in the meat department, they can't ever seem to get the weights right when we want portions, then I swear we have bought filet mignon steaks multiple times only for them not to be..rip off? Accident? Oh this review also excludes the nice gentleman in the mask who collects carts, he always greets us, went out of his way to give my child a balloon on his birthday which no one else has ever offered in the store (we even have to ask for stickers most times, they aren't offered is my point) look it's the little things that we have experienced at other Publix locations that make this Publix so drab to go to. I'm not expecting a 5 star hotel experience but you definitely feel the contrast in the store compared to so many other locations. And no it's not the stickers (which is a free bonus of something we don't expect) it's the principle.. the deli is a hit or miss sometimes you get a nice employee, sometimes you don't.. never had an issue in produce, actually had a nice employee help me get a lizard out of the store I found in my cart. The pharmacy wasn't a good experience, once I was looking for a specific item (children's medicine) I asked the pharmacy tech, she points at a shelf from behind the counter and says "they should all be there in the same place." Doesn't come out and show me when I was having a hard time finding the product, very mundane and short as if I was bothering her, I left and went to Walgreens across the way. Main point to this review is you have some employees who are grand, very stand up and polite but the others just ruin it. We understand this is a busy smaller store and you get the rudest customers (we've witnessed it multiple times) but something needs to change, we spend $100 or more on each trip and come here two times a week sometimes more, it's running an errand so we don't expect it to be a vacation but it shouldn't feel miserable either. read more

Sadly I used to love this Publix and it still has some great employees working there- but few and far between.. clearly the frozen food person doesn't know how to order and it would be helpful if the cashier was actually friendly and greeted us with more than an eye roll and throwing receipts at my elderly mother really disappointed.. usually that store is amazing but clearly they've gone downhill a bit and the management must be lacking.. I used to work for Publix so this to me was a very upsetting day.. truly disappointed in Karen (cashier)- she made my mom not want to shop with Publix again.. step up the game .. btw we've been loyal shoppers all of our lives- so sad to see this happen read more

Publix never ceases to amaze me. Once a week I am in Forrest Ridge store and/or Dunnellon. The employees are so kind, helpful, dressed well and they smile. I want to remember names who reaches out to help me, but I will just say they are equivalently customer service oriented. I do not mind spending a little extra to be treated so wonderful. Thank you Publix for hiring and training your employees in such a way they exemplify a trait that's being forgotten... Those fortunate enough to have a Publix location in town know the benefits it brings. This Publix store offers the same benefits to their customer base. The store is always spotless and very easy to navigate. The layout of this store is slightly different from the newer Publix locations, but is conveniently located outside of Citrus Hills, Tera Vista, Beverly Hills, and several other subdivisions. The staff has always been polite and helpful throughout the entire shopping experience. I usually hesitate to ask an employee a question at most stores, but the Publix employees are always so pleasant and willing to help that I don't worry. The aisles are also well organized and labeled, I can usually get everything I need for dinner and be out within 10 minutes. This is also due to the checkout lines being efficient. Publix does cost a little more than your typical Walmart or Winn Dixie, but the experience is so great and welcoming that I'm always willing to pay. One reviewer gave only 1 star to the Citrus Hills store because of a rude server at the deli. They must have terminated that worker, because I find all of them very informative and friendly, which holds true for the vast majority of Publix employees. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that they don't always have a good selection of products we like plus they often don't order enough. They are a smaller Publix than Inverness or Crystal River, so space limits their selection. But if you request an item, they do their best to get it in for you and call you when it arrives. I wish the prices were lower, but I find the employees at this store to be the most helpful of any other Publix store. read more
