So after a month, I came in yesterday for my appointment and I thought I had all the documents I needed to apply for a replacement Social Security card. But turns out Rafael told me that I needed more verified documents like my child's report card showing the date of her birth and name since I did not have a student ID card. At first, I was a bit irritated because when I made the appointment, the gentleman (who I made the appointment with last time) didn't tell me I needed a specific documents and what I had on hand, he said it would be fine. But thankfully, Rafael was nice enough to explain what I needed and if I come back to him, then he would try to squeeze me in. And I told him, I'm going to go home right now and come back within 20 minutes. When I got back the security officer, Corbin was really chill and friendly. I can tell by his aura that he's a cool dude and I'm glad he's working there because I think he brings happiness in that environment with his vibe. Anyways, Raphaël saw me & signaled me to go to the window. I gave him everything I found that he asked for, and the process went smoothly. I really appreciate him because he turned my irritation into satisfaction. I'm glad I handled business because now I don't have to worry about it. And for those that go stand in line in the morning, very early to get a ticket, you don't have to do that anymore because there's a QR code on the front door where you scan with your phone and your automatic in the queue. All you have to do when they open: you scan the barcode and you get your ticket, real simple and easy. Anyways, this location was chill and the workers were cool. All I gotta say is be nice and appreciative and you'll have a great day doing things you don't want to do, lol.

At that point, I was just two numbers away from being called. I asked the security guard why there weren't signs posted near the kiosks or a notice on the electronic board explaining this beforehand. He said they were short-staffed. I replied that perhaps they should at least advertise that people need to call ahead, instead of wasting the public's time and their staff's time. I then told the clerk I wanted to wait for a manager to discuss the inefficiencies. After another 10 minutes with no response, I left. This office is beyond ridiculous

I called the Brentwood branch on Saturday as no update had been made and received assistance with the tracking issues. Lori was very gracious in explaining that updates are provided when a driver arrives at a post office and the mail is logged. The gist? What I saw on the tracking website was what Lori saw. There was no much she could do aside from checking when the package arrived at our local branch. I received a call from Lori this morning where she informed me that the package was on site and would be delivered by our local carrier today. I'm still highly disappointed by the USPS gross delays, particularly the Fresno station, which tends to be the one that will hold a package without update for days. I'm impressed by Lori's follow through on behalf of the local Brentwood branch, however.

I want to acknowledge one of the most professional and attentive police officer of all time. His…read morename is Connor Johnson. I was in a car accident and was so anxious at the time. I reached out to the dispatcher who was focused and caring. Officer Connor Johnson arrived on scene and I was nervous and frustrated because it became a hit and run. This young man spent time with me explaining what would happen and what to expect after the fact as they were trying to locate the driver who happened to be intoxicated. I was hesitant because he was an officer. He was such a professional and a gentleman the whole time. If all officer was as kind and respectful as this young man was. It would totally improve the relationship in the community. He got my information as I kept most of it in my phone e and at the moment couldn't recall the info to unlock my phone. His patience and assurance at a time I truly needed helped me to calm down and regain my focus to get into my phone. He sat with me as he processed the information and made sure I was calm enough to make it home. Oakley Police Department he is a keeper and I am saying give this young man the biggest raise because he represents r this department is best light and provides such wonderful service to assist me. I felt protected and assured the whole entire time. If I ever need an officer I will request Mr. Johnson. . He is awesome and if this is the image and brand of the OPD. I applaud this gentleman. This whole department is corrupt and refuses to actually investigate theft, vandalism and domestic…read moreviolence...and has been corrupt since the early 90s when they first refused to investigate domestic violence. I have put in several calls to have a meeting with Chief Beard and have been ignored. Since OPD refuses to do their job, I will now be forced to take legal action. It's a shame that officers take an oath to serve and protect and can't be bothered to even complete a report properly. I learned how to do this when I went through the Police Academy so I'm not sure why veteran officers cannot do their jobs properly. Next time I have an incident in Oakley, I will be calling the Sheriff instead. And one final point....the action (or better said, inaction) on the part of your officers is why so many Americans distrust law enforcement. What a shame!

They quickly recognized the severity of the crisis, requested medical assistance immediately, and maintained remarkable composure during an emotionally intense encounter. In my field, I know how difficult these calls can be, and these officers represented the very best of crisis intervention and public safety.
