I felt relaxed and pampered. The space was beautifully decorated. I wish it wasn't so far from my house. I will definitely go back to their other community acupuncture events. It is only $25 the person or if you bring a friend it's two for $40. The mind body Spirit Center's brochure says rejuvenation and regeneration in an environmentally conscious center. There's also a nurse practitioner who provides nutritional counseling, immune enhancement,allergy testing and women's healthcare. Kat Myers also does yoga, qi gong, body rolling and offers workshops. I'm definitely going to check those out!

I went there for only acupuncture, so if you want to just tell her your symptoms of discomfort or pain and be treated, this is not your place as she wants a complete physical and mental health recap. The place is also not open all the time--so if you want to cancel an appointment or make changes, then you may need to wait 3 days as they don't have long hours and are closed on Fridays and the weekends. She didn't come back at the end of my treatment to remove the needles and her staff missed one, which caused me to have jarring pain when I put on my pants!! I took the needle out and then said, "You missed one!" and she didn't apologize but just took it from me and dropped it in the trash. I also called to reschedule a follow-up appointment and the woman on the phone didn't seem all that interested in finding a date solution. So, I just didn't make another appointment and I don't think she cared a hoot. I think her current staff is subpar but I liked her. Maybe this should be a 3.5 star review???

Also, Kelsang Wangmo, a Buddhist nun, and many other practitioners are there during daily open hours to welcome visitors. I love visiting this place. The community is very welcoming, and the space is beautiful inside. The building doesn't look like much from the outside, and it is a bit hard to spot from the street, so look for the sign out front (note that the entrance is in the rear next to the parking lot). I highly recommend Shambhala for anyone looking for a good place to practice mindfulness and learn to be more present and sane in the world.

She's also announced there are gonna be at least 5 or 6 more here in Phoenix. Cool! I finally today got to try out her class in her studio, and it was amazing (but also very hard). Kjoy is the real deal, a very solid yoga class and you will be crawling out of the class. She will work you but you will thank her after the class is over. A friend of mine also joined me today to experience this studio. BSY at this location just opened about a month ago and the studio is offering a free week, so please go try it out! BSY has locations throughout the country and its great we now have one here also. The studio is painted in black and it's a nice space with a beautiful mural. There are cubby holes to store your items . Blocks are provided and you can rent mats here. I also saw a fridge selling waters and other liquids. There is a bathroom, which you walk thru a gym to get to. Two things to note here. Parking lot is small, but I was able to get slammed spot. The only thing I wished for was that there were celing fans in the studio. Kjoy originally taught some guest classes at Madison Improvement Club awhile back and then I didn't see her for a couple of years. I then randomly at Vikara yoga events bumped into her and it was such a delight to see her again! She also gave me a bunch of free passes for classes, and she's a lovely, bubbly person! I'll definitely be back to her studio and right now, if u join as a founding member, the annual fee is $480! That's a pretty sweet deal for a solid yoga studio! IF TM is a valid practice, the "Director" Pratima, of the Scottsdale location provided extremely poor representation of this company. She claims to be a practitioner of sorts, yet demonstrated lack of professionalism and cultural sensitivity toward my own culture and beliefs. She also minimized my loss-related grief and felt entitled to call me "selfish" for verbally expressing my current emotional pain. TM is supposedly a meditation practice that has been "proven" to help destress, yet it seemed to have impaired her dealings with me. I call that HYPOCRACY. She was impatient and belittling toward me in front of a peer. She made provisions for my peer and allowed her to "make-up" a class via Zoom when she was absent. Pratima obligated me to come in-person for the class and I was not allowed the same courtesy although I had advised her that I was in incredible emotional and physical pain. I call that FAVORITISM. I was also obligated to view videos of the founder "Maharishi Mahesh Yogi." With the limited information I received about this individual, my perception quickly became that he was their religious leader. When I expressed any difference of opinion from hers, I was met with aggressive communication and was insulted. I was asked to shell out a significant amount of money to learn "the basics." They provided minimal information, pretty, colorful Power Point Presentations full of hearsay. When I asked to learn more scientific information the Director advised me their famous "advanced techniques" would be an additional cost (of course). They did not advise me of this upfront. After FOUR sessions, I felt I had been swept into some kind of money scheme. When requesting a refund (after FOUR SESSIONS), Pratima advised me that I did "not qualify" for one. I believe that such "practitioners" should practice what they preach. I don't feel this individual did, based on her horrible treatment of me. Never again. Learned my lesson. I don't recommend at all. RUN.

My knee had been stubbornly swollen at 40 cm since week 11 with no improvement, and I was still dealing with significant discomfort and limited mobility.
