I went through all the courses PSI had to offer within about a year. The classes open me up and raised my interpersonal awareness. For me it was the missing piece that therapy couldn't quite touch. (While I feel strongly about the program I in no way think this is a substitute for regular therapy visits). After the Basic (first class) I quit my job of 9 years and pursued a completely new career path I'm thriving in today. After the Life Success Course (second class) I confidently told the contractor I was working for how I would like to restructure my position within his company. He did agree with my plan, however, I was also confident in being able to move onto something else if he wasn't. I give credit to PSI for my certainty and pride in myself to have the strength and courage to mold my life into something rather than waiting for something to happen. "If it is to be it's up to me. The third course Leadership was the most pivotal and transformational for me. I came back from that class a new man. I can't give enough gratitude to my peers in that class who reinforced the man I am and my potential. PLD is an another class offered. It's an @$$ wooper for sure. My personal experience was a bit tainted by a stalker ex following me into it. My fault for violating my own boundaries when I could have just postponed at a later date. Very frustrated with this company. They clearly state on their website if you find no value in the course you will be refunded no questions asked. I submitted a refund request in May. They told me they would refund me and now I have not heard from them after multiple attempts. Save your money. This is a huge waste of time and most everything they "teach you" you can Google. Not to mention they try to place you in limiting boxes and tell you exactly what your personality is and then what that personality does. Then say things like "that's not you then you are an infiltrator" when they know nothing about you. People are capable of having more than one personality trait.I got no value from this course and it's a waste. The time frame is ridiculous too. You are forced to stay there about 10 hours a day. With the last half of the last two days being all about selling you on the more expensive courses. They literally keep in the room on the last day for your "break" while the staff goes around and tries to convince you to take the more expensive courses. Huge waste of time. read more

I took this course to better myself and uncover the roadblocks in my psyche before I got married. So I wanted to go into my marriage as a happy positive loving person and I got that and so much more out of this course. I am very glad I went to PSI Basic. I went because my brother had gone and spoke well of it. Because I respect my brother's opinion, he didn't even need to invite me. This is in response to Shell Y. It sounds like your family member was in a PSI program called PLD. I will agree with all your statements on this program, and would also say i believe the stated PLD course value of teaching extreme goal attainment, time management and instant change are noble. I first experienced PSI Basic in 1997. The weekend was gifted to me by a friend when I was at a very low point. It was a true gift. I would encourage almost anyone to spend the money and 3 days for the basic. Pay for others weekends if you can. There is much to be gained. You also had the ability to return for PSI basic, for life at no charge. I returned for a basic weekend in 2011. All of us can gain from introspection and lessons. I would ask my friends to NOT SIGN UP FOR ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS until they have truly cataloged and taken action on all they learn in the 3 days. You must also have the expendable income!! There are a few people in the PSI office who will take your last credit card, and friends and families future years earnings to claim another membership to an advanced class. More on that later. That being said: I found PSI 7 to be a very worthwhile 7 days as well. It was worth the thousands of dollars to me. These programs will only add value to your life if your willing to put in the work. Just showing up repeatedly will change nothing. Please don't borrow to attend a program. I have paid for many people to attend the basic because I do believe in it. I will pay for many more I'm sure. My choice. I would never want a friend to go into debt over a basic, and never for the more expensive advanced programs. I developed lifelong friendships through all my PSI programs. I simply believe PLD has been hijacked by a small handful of people to create membership drives that benefit a few financially. This is my opinion, after being in a PLD team and also dropping out when my values would not let me continue. Other friends finished that program and found some value. The stated goals of PLD are now all somehow made to relate to signing up more people into basic, rather than working on your goals. The new recruits always somehow the lesson. Some coaches are truly talented and giving. Other coaches; I believe are there for the wrong reasons. Like all other choices. It's up to the person to choose in or out. Please don't judge all of PSI on this one PLD phone call, you overheard. I hope your family member gained value in the end or chose to walk away if they truly felt wronged by the process. Quitting is a bad habit. MOST OF THE TIME! Sometimes it's the only action available in a given circumstance. I simply ask myself, & others to NEVER QUIT on a bad day, or over one experience; without thought and a plan. I felt compelled to write this years after my experience because I saw a call to action from the PSI leadership asking for positive reviews because they had several bad reviews lately. This is an honest review from my heart and experience. Some say PSI is a cult. I'm not one of those people. Just have a plan and never let somebody gain value on you going into DEBT. EVER!! There is good investment debt and bad debt. DEBT IS MOST OFTEN SLAVERY. Learn to make other people's dreams come true. Learn to help others get what they want. The PSI basic training made a significant impact in my personal life and also in my professional development. As well as, my relationship with my young adult children. Its a shame others see this as some scam....no one is holding a gun to your head and you learn how you deal with pressure. Some of us suck at it because we are not clear about how to deal with it. No is a perfectly acceptable answer. A great philosopher once said....We don't perceive things as they are, we perceive things as we are. Really sad. They prey on people's vulnerabilities using scuzzy techniques from the 1970's. PSI is a large group awareness training scam or LGAT. If you want to spend a weekend listening to self-help scripts intended to make you believe that PSI can teach you how to discover yourself and how to live a more enlightened lifestyle, sign up. On Sunday they will allow you to understand that for just a few thousand dollars you can continue your great journey and they will show you the tools you need so you can truly and deeply discover for yourself how to realize your own awesomeness. None of the techniques or activities were created by PSI. They are borrowed from a multitude of other individuals and organizations. PSI has only compiled it all into a nice tidy well choreographed dog and pony show (more accurately, a marketing presentation). You will laugh, cry, dance, discover yourself, face your addictions, learn to love, reconcile your past, and much more.... But wait! If you register today they'll discount the registration fee. C'mon, good grief! PSI Seminars is happy to provide you the opportunity to buy a better life. Oh, and you really need to enlist your friends, family, and colleagues. They should buy happiness too! If you don't buy in, you are all destined to lead a life of mediocrity. It's absolutely true, you can improve your life and learn to be your best self. However, you absolutely do not need to give PSI thousands and thousands of dollars to do it. There is even a successful network of PSI graduates who truly believe they have become members of the "enlightened elite" only because of PSI. Some of the classes and speakers ok! Just disliked the after! Non stop calls. You have to do more, if you don't do more you are a problem! If you say yes once they never stop bothering you! I have been attending PSI seminars and events for over ten years. It is a great organization and I have enjoyed my journey with them. If you are thinking about attending the Basic I highly suggest you take the leap and do it. For me it was a transformative 3 days were I met wonderful like minded people, many of which have become close friends I can speak plainly to and get honest feedback from. Regarding a few other reviews on here... yes PSI relies heavily on volunteers to staff their events. I have done so many times and have received as much from those experiences as I did when I was attending them for the first time. Using volunteers helps expand the opportunities for growth at PSI seminars and keeps these events affordable. Some individuals have an issue with how it has effected family members that have attended the basic and beyond. The unfortunately thing about growth is that wile many will be supportive of your changes, some may react poorly to the positive changes in your life, and like crabs in a pot, will try and pull your vibration back down to theirs. It's just their fear coming through as the are intimated by the changes you are making in your life. I took the basic course and found it relatively enjoyable. It's like a weekend course on your mind, your behavioral styles, and learning about how you think/what holds you back. It's a great course for anyone who has never had any sort of counseling, but they do spend almost an entire day at the end of it pushing you to pay $3-4k for a week program. I became jaded by the program when my life partner went on to take the psi7 course and then the PLD program. PLD is where PSI showed its true colors and forces a group of people to make goals but truly, they mostly push you to get people enrolled into their program. If you didn't get enough "enrollments" they would give out punishments like leaders refusing to meet with the groups until it happened or setting up a crazy enrollment goal with a bribe-like "reward" if it happens. I wouldn't call it a cult, but it's like a pyramid scheme where you pay for experience of getting others to enroll into the basic seminar. Did I mention that the leaders in PLD also don't get paid too? Yep. They also staff all their seminars with "volunteers" and try to get people to think that they are getting something out of volunteering. If PSI wasn't so money-hungry and would hire more people to actually PAY them like a decent company, I would think that their goal of trying to change the world was actually genuine. However, it's very obvious that the few people involved in the company have generously lined pockets for themselves only. It's sad, because they taught great principles, but their business model is horrible and casts a shadow over what the original founder probably wanted to do. Best advice- Seek counseling, do art therapy, join group therapy or something along these lines, because even if you think are happy the truth is we are all human and could use an emotional tuneup every now and then. You will get much more out of a smaller group or 1:1 with an actual therapist than going to an event with hundreds that is mostly interested in your wallet. read more
