I have attended both a communication and Excel seminar thus far. I think what you get out of the seminar is dependent on what the subject is as well as the instructor. For the communication seminar, a lot of the content was common sense. I found the activities where we are forced to work with a partner and in groups most valuable. At the Excel seminar, I definitely learned new things and the instructor was very upbeat, funny, and very knowledgeable. I tried bringing a laptop to follow along but he would go so fast that I just gave up after the first hour and continued taking notes like the rest of the class. There is definitely a lot of sales pitches sprinkled in throughout the day and I learned to just zone out during those parts. I laughed to myself when he showed uhow much the excel products were that they were selling. Overall I would recommend Pryor Training, but only if you do the $199 Pryor plus and just go to as many seminars as possible during the year. They can be hit or miss, but it's way cheaper than paying for each seminar individually. Update: The excessive spam mail has started coming on what seems almost a daily basis. Went to the 'Managing Multiple Priorities, Projects And Deadlines'. This course was quite silly. We were given a 35 page workbook before the 7 hour seminar. The majority of what was talked about pertained to outdated practices. Like why do I need to 'learn' what to do with paper I receive? I haven't received a piece of paper that I have needed in 7 years. Obviously I am throwing it all away. Email management?? Who needs a whole hour on this? We went over 3 tools total in this whole dang day. AT BEST it articulated a strategy a chimpanzee could come up with on their own. This company is a SCAM and so unserious. Meaning, unprofessional. The speaker I had for this class was Orrin Rudolph and he made multiple inappropriate comments and 'jokes' during this class. I was very uncomfortable and haven't been around that level of immaturity since I was 20 years old. What is even more laughable is that this man called himself a 'spiritual coach.' Online it appears he calls himself a 'Christian'... but he evidently has a thing or two to learn about the sin of lust and the value of women that is mentioned in the Bible. His website and LinkedIn mimic a Joel Osteen or 'prosperity gospel', making it manipulation of the Bible and manipulation of people. Do yourself a favor and just go to YouTube. Or if you have more anxieties that are causing you to struggle in your time management/etc, then go to therapy. read more

Currently in the 12/2 online Excel Beyond the Basics class. I'd also signed up for the seminar all access. I read the reviews from 2019 to now all echoing the same thing--half of the class is a sales pitch for other products. I was really hoping since so many customers echoed the same complaints, that Pryor would take this into consideration and actually have classes be that--classes; not hours of ads. It's so annoying and frustrating. I think maybe 20 minutes of each hour is actually teaching and the rest are anecdotes or testimonials that lead into another ad for another product. It wouldn't be so terrible if he actually taught you how to do things. Rather he breezes through and shows you that it's something you can do in Excel, then spends the next 30 min selling you a course that can show you how to. Followed by a lecture about investing in ourselves and not expecting to gain knowledge for free. Hello! This is why we paid for the class. This class is mostly a waste and not actually a class, just an entire day of pitching products. I think what's more frustrating is that the customer service reps respond to the reviews and are aware of the lack of teaching in the classes but clearly fail to make improvements. I'm trying to gain as much information from the class regardless but it's really frustrating. Also, not sure why but I don't have access to the question box, so I can't engage or answer questions. Took Time Management seminar hosted by Bruce Mow. Time NOT well managed. 1) The first 15+ minutes he spent talking to the audience, pronunciating each person's name, asking if he said it correct, to let him know. 2) The first almost 2 hrs was spent talking about inappropriate language & commercials. Along with a dated Americas Got Talent video. What did those have to do with Time Management??? 3) I think we learned his whole life story in this Time Management seminar. Why did Fred Pryor ask this man to lead this seminar? I do not recommend anyone to take ANY seminars lead by Bruce unless you want to WASTE TIME AND money. read more

The actual training for the beginning HR was pretty good. I felt like I already knew a lot of it, but many areas were covered, and it wasn't bad for the cost and the time. What I hated is that: In a matter of a few weeks I was bombarded by HR companies trying to sell me things - I'm not even in HR in my company, so the ONLY way they could have gotten my name is that Pryor SELLS your information. I had been interested in Fred Pryor Seminars for a while; curiosity stemming from constant brochures being mailed to our office. My manager and I had been discussing taking a Microsoft Excel class at the local community college, but decided we didn't want to take an entire semester... So, we opted for the Excel Basics class on 3/27/19. After taking the Fred Pryor Seminar, I wish we had taken the community college class. Upon receiving my "class materials," I was shocked to discover that there were no computers involved and that no power supplies would be provided. I thought perhaps I was misinterpreting the info, and maybe there would be computers provided. So, I went to the class with some fellow coworkers and managers. No computers. The problem here is that there are many people like myself who are "hands on" learners, simply reading and listening to a powerpoint presentation does nothing for my brain nor helps me gain any skill, especially when it is a skill that requires technology. Nevertheless, I stayed in the class curious to see what exactly I could pick up, if anything at all. While I understand that the reason is so that the pace of the class is not slowed down, perhaps there should be a separate class for those who need hands on learning. The hotel the class was held at was sub-par. There was only one restaurant, which had terrible food. And nothing else near by. So, one had to leave and drive a bit before getting food. From the moment the class began, I knew we were in for one giant sales pitch. On the phone, they were consistently trying to urge me to purchase Pryor+ when signing up for the class. And then, once we were in the class, it seems as though every 10 minutes there was a sales pitch about upgrading to Pryor+ and all of the supposed amazing benefits that came with it. It is exceptionally frustrating when I have paid money to attend a class about a particular subject and the majority of what is talked about is how to fork over more money to the company. It is an absurd notion to tell people that they can have "this class and more absolutely free with Pryor+!" Oh, but by the way... Pryor+ is about $500. That isn't free. On top of that portion, the other half of the time in class was spent listening to life stories - mainly about how our instructor's son learned how to speed read. Congratulations, that's great, except that I'm not here for a motivational speech; I'm here to learn about Excel. To be completely honest, I remember maybe 1 thing I learned in that class. The rest of what's in my brain, is how to buy Pryor+/spend hundreds of dollars at this company and how someone's kid learned to speed read. That is what my money went to and what I took with me from the class. I will not attend any future Fred Pryor Seminars, nor will any of my coworkers. We receive absurd amounts of brochures from this company through emails as well as in the mail. I have unsubscribed from the emails so that is one less thing to worry about. But, it is ridiculous how much junk mail we receive from Pryor Learning Solutions. We receive the same brochure for 10 individual people - a complete waste of paper that ends up in the trash. read more

I bought an employee handbook creator. I tried to use it once and found that it can only be used on one browser so if I save my work then move to another device I won't be able to access it. This doesn't work for me at all and I contacted them to return it. Here we are weeks later and they still haven't refunded me even though I called and was on hold for 15 minutes before I had to hang up, emailed several times, called again, and was told that someone else had to call me back, they called back when I was busy, of course, and I did two chat sessions. I feel like I am being held hostage over a measly $250 product. I am going to have to end up disputing this with the bank because clearly, they make their return process as difficult as it can be. read more

I just finished the Excel Basics class & I was throughly impressed. Before today I thought I was pretty decent with managing my way around excel, but now I feel I've barely scratched the surface in using its full potential. Pros: -A lot of great information. -Teacher (Dave) was A+ at relaying the information. -You get to keep a booklet with information that helps you in future struggles. Cons: -The hotel that hosted us was pretty ran down. -They do push up-selling you to do a year pass a little too much. EDIT: after posting my review a supervisor from Pryor reached out to me personally to apologize for the problems that I had and to make things right. Updated my star rating to 3 for that. I attempted to order two webinars for my tax-exempt organization. I emailed them our tax-exempt certificate the day I ordered 8/5/2019. After a month of calling them every week, then eventually every 2 days, my request to remove the tax from my invoice was never completed. I requested several times to speak to a supervisor, which would always result in me being told one would call me back. This never happened. It is now 9/3/2019 and the tax has yet to be removed which is why I canceled our order and would caution anyone who needs a tax-exempt purchase. I attempted to take this up with a supervisor directly but since one never called me back I am left to address my issues in this public format. read more

I have been to a couple of their trainings and each time I have learned a lot. Now I am applying what I have learned at my job and it has been very useful. The only thing I would suggest is if we are somehow able to follow up with questions regarding information that the teacher stated. That would be nice, to have a chat support for that. Otherwise, I am definitely signing up for more classes. Also, shout out to Doug Wood who taught one of the classes I attended and his teaching was so good that I want to see what other classes he teaches so I can take more! read more

Oh, goodness - save your money! The instructor seemed very nice and extremely knowledgeable, but was hell bent on delivering sales pitch after sales pitch. If this seminar had been free, maybe I could understand the hard sell for additional seminars, but I paid for this! She spent far too much time trying to upsell and hardly any time actual information. I left at lunch, as I was just plain tired of hearing about what other seminars were available and what resources are available for purchase. Also, our instructor opened with waaaaaay too much personal information. Apparently she lost her job very publicly 10 years ago and then found herself sitting on her couch watching daytime television for a few years. But, make no mistake, she made sure that she told us all that it was by no fault of her own. She seemed to think she was hosting a motivational seminar and repeated "Boo, get off the couch", over and over again. Even kept saying, "Boo, turn to your neighbor and tell them to get off the couch." It was just too much for me. I think I acquired about 30 minutes of actual information in the 3 hours that I was there. read more

Coworkers and I purchased the Pryor+ package to be able to attend a few trainings. We attended the Train the Trainer and it was terrible. First, no materials were provided. SOME participants received an email telling them to print out the materials. That would involve hundreds of pieces of paper. Others (including us) didn't receive the email. While I acknowledge that it very well could be that the email was blocked by spam, we should have been informed at registration that we needed to print our own materials. Furthermore, we should have been able to have access to the material downloads in our account and when we paid for the class. Make it more obvious that materials need to be printed. As it was, with more than half the class without materials, most of the class was lost for most of the day. Then, there were over 40 people in our class and only one trainer. It was pandemonium. Half the class didn't have materials and the trainer had zero class management skills. For a class this size, there should have been at least 2 trainers and probably 3 or 4. It was clear that they simply wanted as many butts in seats for a few dollars as possible to them. Funny that in a class that's supposed to teach best practices in training, this program showed exactly what NOT to do. Several were so disgusted by the experience that they didn't come back after lunch. Then to top it all off, the instructor spent a solid 30 minutes of class time trying to upsell Pryor materials, packages, etc. It seriously felt like a timeshare pitch. The absolutely worst was was she militantly marched all of us Pryor+ members up to the front of the class and insisted we tell the none Pryor+ members why we made the purchase. She was shocked when I explained to the entire class that I thought it was a ripoff and we won't renew. Pryor+ is a ripoff. Don't waste your time or money. read more

The other two were so poorly prepared and performed I walked out after the first hour because it was not what I was told I would receive. Excel basics course Great instructor moonlighting as a salesman. It's crazy to charge for a day long course that spends 70% of the time pitching other crazy expensive courses. I didn't learn enough to justify the $79 course fee. My recommendation to you Pryor, if you are going to push your other courses so heavily, you offer this course for free; Otherwise, you will not survive on Yelp. My teacher was Orrin, and during class he asked people to leave 5 star Yelp reviews, likely to bury people like me. I would rate two stars because they teach you some basics, but their sales tactics appear extremely unethical. They tried to sell me other classes and subscriptions during my class that I was taking on the clock for my company. I was trying to learn excel for work, and every 45 minutes he'd take 5-10 minutes to try and sell us something else. Additionally there was an almost 10 minute break every hour. So each hour is actually like 40 minutes of material. The most egregious sales pitch I couldn't believe and went as follows. Our teacher/salesperson claimed that the materials in this additional course which was on sale for $749 (original price of "$1600"), were able to make people read at five thousand words per minute. That cannot be true. He additionally claimed that JFK was a student of Evelyn Wood (the author of the materials he was trying to sell for $750). Look up Evelyn Wood, and Wikipedia tells you JFK was in fact never her student. You cannot see another students questions in chat, unless either the teacher/salesperson or their assistant respond to it see Exhibit B. The reason I mention this, is he would say things to the camera in response to "someone's" but I highly doubt anyone asked the questions. He used the fact that you can't see what other people are saying to make it seem like plenty of people are interested in the product, when there was probably minimal interest in the "product". Additionally there are only a few slots that get a "free" bonus, that isn't free but is in fact part of the $750 dollar cost. Since my description for the photos are too long I'll post them here. Exhibit A) The $1600 is in a different font than the $750 (look at how the dollar signs are different), and the white text box obscures the yellow button. It means the text box was placed there after the flyer was made. Meaning it's normally $750, but you're more likely to buy it if they claim it's worth $1600. Notice how exhibits B and C interact, stating both 10 and 16 free bonus packages are available. Maybe they conflict on accident, or maybe it is meant to apply pressure to you to make you feel more inclined to purchase the deal before it's gone. I'd see if your local community college offers any seminars. If not, you could probably learn from this class if you're not to distracted by their unethical sales tactics. If I indicated online, within the past week, that I am choosing to renew my membership and to be invoiced, please help me understand why I received a call this AM about needing to pay my outstanding balance. I'm not certain if or how Covid impacted your company policy, but I did not receive calls for payment in the past. This is tacky, classless, and very disappointing. Amazing. I just completed the Excel: Beyond the Basics training with Orrin Rudolph and I have no words. Orrin made a class about Excel so fun, so interactive, I really didn't want it to end! I recently took the Excel Basics class, it was very helpful in learning many things I was not aware of about excel. The Teacher was great, David Suson, kept you involved in the class as much as possible, "Webinar". Hands outs provided are very helpful if you download them. Material was presented in a good and efficient manner. Easy to follow, some areas I did get a little confused. During break time I was able to figure it out. Terrible terrible terrible. Took this online class for my agency to learn EXCEL. You do NOT get trained in EXCEL you get sales pitches and motivational speeches that have no relation to EXCEL. It is terrible they have no respect for your time or money. And let's talk about the other participants ...I do not believe anyone was even there and for sure not 100 people. So convenient they keep referring to the same peoples names ..generic ass names. I attended a live/virtual webinar today and it was phenomenal! The 2 gentlemen teaching were so knowledgeable and funny. I learned so much and they kept our attention all day, answered questions in the chat and stayed on a little longer than required to help some of us out. Because of the pandemic, this was done online and still it delivered the same lessons and teachings that one can get from attending a live seminar. I attended the Supervisor training, sent and paid for by my employer. I thought the material covered was interesting and useful. There are four sections to the workbook; we ended up really only covering the first section in detail, and basically skimmed through the other three in a two-hour span, which is a little disappointing, but at least I can complete the workbook on my own. I thought the instructor was pretty effective and engaging, and the content was interesting (very psychology/sociology based). Like others, I definitely feel like they spent way too much time on upselling, considering it is a paid course. I get that its probably how they make the bulk of their money, and it was fine how the instructor would casually mention this or that product and how you could dive deeper onto a particular subject by purchasing that product. Totally fine with the catalog and order form that was handed out to each person at the beginning of the class. What I didn't like was the use of a full 20 minutes before lunch that was basically what I would consider a high-pressure, hard sell (think timeshare) session trying to get people to sign up for the membership. Then, toward the end of class, the instructor went around the room and basically was trying to one-on-one get people to sign up. After explaining that we would need to get prior approval from our organization, and that it wouldn't be likely that it would be approved, he actually began physically filling out the form for us, wrote INVOICE in the payment box, and tried to get one of us to sign it, saying that it could easily be canceled. I probably would be fired if I had actually signed, but I could see someone falling for it and getting into big trouble. I will say I did consider signing up for the Plus membership myself (on my own dime), as I was interested in the online learning rather than the in-person training. I ultimately decided against it because I felt I could get similar content using Khan Academy or other similar free programs. It seems from the reviews that the online content isn't great anyway, so I'm glad I didn't. There were several Plus members in my class - I didn't ask them whether they thought it was worth it. I pretty much sprinted out of the class at the end to avoid anymore sales pitching. read more
