My husband saw Dr Pruitt in 2020. He needed the services of an oral surgeon. However, my husband had a heart attack, was on blood thinners, then had a multitude of other health problems and could not work for many months due to the COVID risk after he initially saw him. We could not afford to get the work done, because I was a teacher on half salary because I started in January 2020 in Alabama. We struggled for a couple of years. This morning, I called his office in Centre because my husband was up all night with tooth pain and was directed to his practice in Piedmont. The receptionist was so kind and I told her about my husband's tooth pain and swelling and they worked him in. Dr. Pruitt told us that he was done with us because he saw him for the same tooth in 2020 and he doesn't deal with non compliant patients who demand to be seen several years later. My husband needs antibiotics and is still a heart patient, and he sent us out without any help. His pain level is causing his heart to race and his jaw is swollen. We have never demanded an appointment from anyone ever. So now on a Thursday night, I'm trying to find someone to see him tomorrow. It's one thing to say you don't want to see a patient anymore, but it's another to send someone in need WHO IS A HEART PATIENT out the door without a prescription for antibiotics to buy them time to find somewhere else. We have insurance that pays and he could have Said it in a nicer way that was not demeaning or embarrassing in front of the entire office, and given him a prescription for antibiotics. Do no harm....isn't that the Hippocrates Oath? read more
